My husband and I had dinner here in the garden area. We were able to be seated here without a reservation. It was a beautiful, quiet setting. We had seen the older blue limousine parked in front of the restaurant and later decided to check on the restaurant's reviews. The reviews were mostly good, so we walked over for dinner. We were seated quickly and placed our order in a timely basis. The only draw back for my husband is that though the menu had a few different kinds of beer, they had only one kind of bottled beer available, which he didn't care for. They also did allow smoking at the tables located here. It didn't seem real noticeable to me as there was a nice breeze. The restaurant was quite busy when we were seated. The tables on the balcony and the front patio were full. However, we received our food quite quickly and it was delicious. My husband ordered the mixed grill, which consisted of beef tenderloin, Caribbean chicken, and spare ribs. He also received fries with it for $27.30 USD and I ordered the Salmon Fettuccine for $21.60 USD. The food was presented very well and was seasoned to perfection! We thought the prices were reasonable as this is an upscale restaurant. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

This was our last dinner on the island and it did not disappoint. We made dinner reservations for the balcony that overlooks the Queen Emma Bridge and even got to watch the bridge open up to let a boat pass through. The food and drinks were great!

I've spent a week on Curacao, mostly outside Willemstad. Yesterday and today, I was staying at an AirBNB in Willemstad, by the bridge. Most of the other side looked pretty sketchy to me. But, I saw many good reviews of this place so I decided to give it a try. I would say I was not dissapointed. Firstly, let's talk about location. It is simply great. You can watch the water and watch the cruise ships. Now, what about food. It was pretty good. I can't give it 5 stars, but it is easily 4 stars. The staff are helpful and polite and things moved right along in the evening. The prices are reasonable, not great. But, i never had the experience that I was being gouged in a tourist trap. I was really nervous eating there at first because in the morning a German cruise line AIDA dumped 4000+ cruise travelers into Willemstad, and the ship was still there when we ate, but it all turned out OK.

I guess this place is more famous than a good decent restaurant. Went there with family (with small kids) and it took over 2 hours for the food to arrive - at lunch time with a half full restaurant. When the food finally arrived it was just terrible. The waiters were also really not friendly about the long waiting. It’s sad because they have an amazing location but nothing else besides this... have lunch or dinner somewhere else and go there just for the picture...

We were in the area and this seemed like the best choice. The building and patio are beautiful. Unfortunately the service was very poor despite having the place less than half empty. Additionally, it seemed like they didn't t want to be there. We ordered classic burgers. My wife had a funny taste, like the meat was not in good condition. Despite not being very pricey you definitely don't get what you pay for.

You have to be lucky to get a table with view to the moving bridge. The food is good you just have to wait over 40min to get it and if you are as unlucky as us and ask for a bit of bread and olive oil for your carpaccio, just add 20 more minutes. we are not coming back.

We were four people for dinner at the restaurant I had already ordered food and wine in collaboration with the restaurant manager. This was a gastronomic experience. We enjoyed the evening to the fullest. If you are in Curacao this must be experienced. Remember to book tables that are run on even here during this time.

Definitely a very popular spot. Make reservations for a table in the upper floor terrace with a view across Saint Anna Bay and the colorful Punda harborfront (Handelskade). Service is professional and attentive (thank you Arnold!). I had the beef tenderloin, the rest had catch of the day. All were amazing. Will return on our next visit to Curacao!

This restaurant has been on my bucket list for many years. The restaurant is housed in a beautiful, old colonial building but the main reason for me was a special local dish they have on the menu. Although I stayed on the island during Covid-19 I had reserved a table on the balcony just in case. As it was quite windy, we moved to a table inside close to the balcony but still with a partial view of the illuminated Handelskade on Punda. My guest from the island had the Fettuccine with salmon and I had finally the local dish, Keshi Yena or stuffed cheese. The Pinot Grigio tasted well. Our dessert was the Kesio, an Antillean cream caramel flan. We both enjoyed our meal very much in this special setting, also because of the very friendly and attentive service.

Good selection of wine with good prices (30-40 USD) waiter was funny and engaging. They made a mistake with one of our entries and quickly corrected it. Also gave us free fries and took the entire they made a mistake with, off the bill. 4 people with 2 bottles of wine total cost with tip was $240 USD. definitely a must try .

We are now more than three weeks on the island and nearly every day we did go dining. We already wrote some reviews for other restaurants, but the Gouverneur was kept for last, cause it was an outstanding experience. It was a nice evening on the 26 of January and even the leaving of a big ship (Aida?) from the inner harbour happend perfectly between starters and main course. The Gouverneur service team fulfilled all our wishes and even started singing "happy birthday" during a surprise dessert. We still talk about the different appetizers which were all on point. Not sure if we should recommened the excellent main courses, as you definitely need space and time for the desserts. :) About the location: From the balcony you have a great view over the harbour, but we preferred the garden, cause it creates its own intimate atmosphere. 10/10 - thank you

We spent our first dinner in Curacao here, and for location and view it cannot be beat. It is directly across from the Punda and the iconic row of historic colorful buildings there. It's a short walk to the Queen Emma bridge and you can watch it open and close from the restaurant. The restaurant itself is lovely, in a beautiful building with a chic but casual decor. It is a picturesque place with a picturesque view. That said, the food was nothing to write home about. The truffle pasta was lacking greatly in flavor and was overcooked. Everyone else's meals were "fine" but not amazing. My younger daughter ordered a salad and ribs and they completely forgot to bring the ribs. Ultimately it would not have made sense to get them 30 minutes later, so she just ate her salad for dinner. The waitress was friendly and did have a good handle on gluten free cooking because my older daughter has celiac disease. She pointed out that the sauce in the ribs was not gluten free and I felt confident that the restaurant was knowledgeable about that. Overall, worth a meal for the view. Maybe make it lunch, so it's less expensive and perhaps they do lighter meals better.

This is my second attempt at writing a review my first went to the moon I think! We popped in as we are always over the other side of the water and decided we would try here as friends had told us it was good. This was 2 weeks ago on a Monday lunch time. We wanted to sit outside on the terrace but is was busy. The lovely lady said there should be a table available soon. There was an Art Exhibition on so we asked if we could walk around and she said this was not a problem. We walked passed kitchen staff who were lovely and welcoming. When we got into the courtyard for a look about a waiter approached us and we asked if we could sit there. We were unsure as it was empty of customers but he was perfectly fine with us having lunch there. Food is a problem for me. It doesn't like me much. I decided on the Tuna steak and I asked for it to be cooked through and charred on the outside. I know a chef would be horrified but this is how I like my Tuna and it came to the table hot and cooked very much to my liking...thank you. My Husband had the Tuna Poke bowl super healthy and he loved it but would have liked mine more haha. It was a fabulous lunch, great staff, wonderful mint and citrus water. The food agreed with me too, thank the lord. Thank the Chefs. We will be back. We do not know the ladies name that greeted us but she was lovely and looking at our receipt the name on that was Jason. Thank you all so much for a lovely experience

My husband and I returned at lunchtime and were pleasantly surprised with a delicious Poke bowl, I had lots of vegetables, with two sauces and my protein was tempeh, it was utterly delicious. The view is still stunning, the restaurant is clean, we will definitely return for lunch, the prices are reduced in the afternoon. The staff is friendly and informative!

I have reviewed this restaurant before and it has consistently been great for service, food quality, value, and most of all consistency. We take friends and family here everytime we go tho Curacao. You need reservations, because everyone knows how great this place is and it is usually full.
