We specifically wanted to visit a restaurant from this franchise.
It's quite similar to other places we'd visited in Cuba, but I'd like to point out that we did not stay at Varadero, but we only traveled through and stopped here for lunch, so I'm...not comparing this place to anything in Varadero, especially not to any of the fancy stuff Varadero is perhaps known to some. we wanted a more Cuban and local experience.
That said, our visit to this establishment was a pleasant one.
The food was good, the staff helpful and kind, and the band that was playing was good too.
The signatures on the walls are a nice, somewhat unique touch. A nice detail. :)
It was worth the stop.More
We went to Bodeguita with expectations since it is a well known brand.
First, we waited 45 min. for our food to arrive, and than we got a pitiful portion of Cuba's signature dish - ropa vieja, it was sad to look at it, needles...to say we did stay hungry.
p.s. We did see a portion of lobster arrive on another table (to late) - that did look ok.More
I actually expected more from this place; so used to eating pork and rice and beans at the resort I thought there would be more choice. But....nope. Same food but done very well. In the end I enjoyed the food. There was a band that...played INCREDIBLE music for us! Omg. It was great. Just three tables of peeps with their own private performance. The restaurant is cool as you can see from the pictures. Add your name! The staff were nice. There was a crazy rain storm when we arrived so we moved inside. It is bigger than it looks with three seating rooms. It is well worth a visit. Very cheap!!More
We went here as part of a rum and cigar tour...if yoy want Cuban food this is the place to go. Lovely food and great music and felt like we were back in Havana and was as good as the one in Havana. Great place...for lunch or dinner starters were lovely, pork and beef were great too and the ice cream was sooo yummy. I will be back soon...More
We went on the Cigar & Sugar tour and this is where we stopped for lunch. The mojitos were really good and the meal was excellent. they served us shredded pork and rice and beans. For dessert we got ice cream. I would definitely recommend...this place.More
I was very disappointed with this restaurant. It seems to be very famous across the whole Cuba, and even South America, but it does not live up to the expectations. 1h to be served lunch (even 20min just for drinks!), extremely loud music to the...point we could not hear each other, and the food is not really better than in any other places... I do not recommend it, unless you like sitting for 2h to get your meal, instead of visiting places...More
