While traveling with a group we made plans to visit the restaurant to be able to gain beach access for our large group. We were not disappointed as this beach was stunning. The food was very good and the service was excellent.

One of the best locations in Varadero to sit and eat. Lots of Pelicans around (that you can feed for a small donation). Directly on the beach. Beautiful house. Nice to look around and see. Food is average, but prices are very high (comparatively to other restaurants around). Would recommend at least stopping in for a drink.

While traveling as part of a large group, we wanted to visit a Cuban beach area. This restaurant could accommodate our group of 62 and give us access to the beach as well. The luncheon was plentiful, the wait staff was attentive and the view was stunning. A bit pricey at 25 CUC for luncheon but the view was great.

A multi national group of us decided to go here for a meal to make a change from our hotel, our group a mix of Canadian, German and British were met by "cash only!" from the manager, the building itself was quaint but in need of attention (standard for Cuba) the food was OK but not great (again standard for... We had lunch here out on the terrace watching the pelicans swoop down to a little fishing boat trying to pinch fish from their catch. The service here was excellent and welcoming as was the food. We had the steak/lobster meal and it was one of the best meals we had in Cuba. Would go again if we returned to... More

We went on the open top bus doing a little sight seeing and decided to visit the former home of Al Capone - now a restaurant. Situated where the bungalows are backing on to the beach. We had lunch here and a couple of drinks here. There is lots of information about the property around. We went with the knowledge... More

La Casa Del Al turned out to be a unique wedding venue for a small wedding. The venue was able to rented out "privately" for a few hours in order for our small wedding group to have the ceremony on the beach & dinner at the restaurant. The building is very neat, made out of stone and has a lot... More

The restaurant is supposedly formerly owned by Al Capone and it's widely agreed that he never lived here but may have used the place to store his wares - all in all then there is no concrete evidence that he ever actually used or owned the place - after you realise this you can't help but to feel it's a...
