We had a fantastic lunch experience at this Paladar restaurant in Miramar, Havana. From the moment we stepped in we felt like we were visiting a friend's house for lunch. Small, simple and very elegant at the same time. Very nice ambiance and atmosphere. Alina,...the owner-chef is a wonderful host and very friendly. The food was amazing and very well presented. The service was very good also. We had a great time and we definitely recommend this restaurant to everybody that visits Havana!More

I've been to this small, intimate and welcoming restaurant a few times and every time it gets better! Menu changes every day, and Chef Alina, prepares dishes according to her guests. As the name implies, it's homemade. It's like going to someone's house to dinner....She made a special lunch for myself and my partner Tim. an aromatic, so delicious rice dish, that I basically inhaled!!! A must visit to Hecho En Casa is in order!!!! Vesna & TimMore

Overall, we had some excellent food in Cuba. And we had wonderful food here at Hecho en Casa. But one of the things that seemed especially special was the atmosphere. We had a little table upstairs that overlooked a leafy terrace. We didn't know to...ask for this table, but we felt very lucky to have it. If you can request it when you make a reservation, I would. It adds a lot to the experience to have this beautiful and quiet spot. The restaurant is on a quiet street in Miramar. You aren't going to stumble across this restaurant, you have to plan to go there. But it is a short walk from here to the FAC, which is where we were heading after dinner. I had the Ropa Vieja which was tender, and studded with fresh tomato. And a delicious octopus "stew" as an appetizer. The food and the service were both excellent. The menu changes daily and is presented on a chalk board. The prices were in Pesos, but they translated these into CUC for us. A lovely experience all round.More

What a fantastic night. Chef Alina is not only a wonderful cook, but a wonderful host as well. We were warmly greeted and taken to one of the upstairs patio tables. When originally reserving, I had noted that one of our travelers was vegan and...Chef Alina made sure there were several options on the evening's menu to accommodate! The food was outstanding and the tomato bisque appetizer I selected was the best I've ever tasted. From appetizers, to entrees, to the desserts, this was a hit from beginning to end. The restaurant's menu changes daily and is presented by blackboard. Alina takes great care to personalize the experience. One in our party was celebrating her birthday and without notice the lights were turned out as deserts were presented, one with a sparkler of celebration and as the waitstaff joined in singing with us. It was a wonderful, personal touch. This place will most definitely be on our "return to" list for next winter's return to HavanaMore

I took a group of 17 and not only did we feast like royalty, but we were treated as such. The chef is very passionate and attentive; explained every dish. She made sure that we were comfortable and felt at home. Nothing better than eating...from the hands of a perfectionist. I HIGHLY recommend this foodie experience. Until next time ...More

Hecho en Casa is a gem. It was our favorite meal of our trip. Chef Alina was so gracious and hospitable, explaining the different dishes to us. We asked her to cook whatever she would recommend for us and every single dish was perfect and...delicious. We were traveling with young kids -- everything was so palatable for them and she made them a special mango drink which they still talk about! The mojito was the best we had in Havana. The service and ambience was wonderful as well.More

The experience I have had each time at "Hecho en Casa" can't be found in many other places. This is definitely the best spot. Great food, great environment, and great attention and those are just some of the qualities which make it a go-to spot...when visiting Havana.More

We went 6 times during our 2 week stay in Miramar. It was the best food of any of the places in visited all over Havana. It is a short walk from the International School and several embassies. The chef, Alina, came out and explained...every dish she served to our group. She paid special attention to my gluten and dairy sensitivities and served me something different when necessary. She also adjusted the meal for one of our vegetarian guests. The waiters are very friendly and accommodating. We learned that she declined the opportunity to serve Prince Charles during our stay because of prior reservations. She told us that "my guests are my royalty". This deep passion on her part comes through in her cooking every time!!More
