We were staying on Paseo for five nights, found this bar on the first evening and returned regularly. Good atmosphere, cocktails always well made and the staff were fiendly. A reliable destination in Vedado
While I agree with all of the plaudits that Madrigal has received--it is indeed one of the hippest places in Havana, and the margarita was to die for--our server was rude beyond pardon. While most of us spoke Spanish, some of the group did not....At one point, he told a friend, in Spanish, "Don't speak English to me." And he wasn't joking. What's more, he went on to speak English to someone else in the group. His entire demeanor and attitude was off-putting. I've encountered lots of attitude from servers in Havana, usually from people who think they are above working in food service but want the hard currency it provides them, but this guy was the worst. And it's unfortunate because we had planned to return. Perhaps if the management does something about it, we'll consider it.More
Cuban food can be a bit repetitive and flavours are often mild. This place bucks that trend, with really tasty dishes. The drinks are very reasonable prices and the list is vast. It’s a very atmospheric place, with a terrace too (sadly full on our...night).More
This is one of our favorite bars we encountered during our time in Havana. Located in the cool and lovely Vedado neighborhood, the drinks are affordable (3-5) and well made. The scene is quiet and artsy, with regulars hanging at the bar. Americans, Australians, and...those from the UK love this place, so you'll likely run into young English speakers if you want to pick their brains on what to do. The food is mediocre, but that is the deal with Havana given the embargos and the relative newness of private enterprise. But, after 3 mojitos, you won't care how the food tastes.More
I've never seen so many options for drinks on a menu in Cuba before! As for the food, there are only a few tapas to order, the tostones rellenos with cheese were excellent, the felafel was good. The tostenes rellenos were better, but Caribbean food...in the Caribbean is better than Mediterranean food in the Carribbean anyways. I would return. Keep in mind that this bar is made to be exclusively for foreign tourists, don't come here expecting an "authentic local experience", you won't find any Habaneros dining or drinking here as it was created exclusively for tourists (locals are priced out of establishments like this). Location is in a nice part of Vedado.More

My friend who went to Cuba with us rented a room downstairs below the Madrigal bar. I do not have any information but maybe you can call the bar and ask for a phone number for the host that runs the rentals downstairs. If that doesnt work call the Hostal 1940 I stayed at: hostal1940 . com there is a number at the bottom of the web page. They recommended the room below the bar to my friend.
Hope this helps,
