Sat on the front patio upstairs, not in the restaurant downstairs. High quality decor, furniture. The service was super attentive but not intrusive. We ordered the Pizza Serrano Ham and French fries, with a Mojito and beer. Saw the Limoncello on the excellent wine list,...and ordered it. Spectacular meal. We shared the pizza - good size, lots of cheese, and big generous slices of ham. I was ecstatic - Serrano Ham is famous in Spain, pricey at home, but hugely flavourful. Added some olive oil, and savoured the pizza. The French fries were a delicate work of art. The limoncello added class and flavour. The staff running the place are clearly proud professionals, and the Chef from Sicily and his team are clearly “top drawer”. We will return for dinner, as our hotel is nearby.More

We loved the appetizers of cheeses and sausages. The main course of sea bass was outstanding. The service was welcoming and great.

They advertise farm-to-table... Clean and accommodating- a buzzer on the table to "ring" for waiter- so vg service. Pizza was good-as was the olive and tomato snapper "house" fish specialty. This restaurant was very close to our casa particular so we ate here on 2 nights. Its a small independent place with a Sardinia chef. Staff are friendly and welcoming and there is a nice outdoor terrace upstairs. We had pasta dishes one night and...pizzas on the other. Both were pretty good, especially considering ingredients for Italian food must be quite difficult to source. Prices are good too - around 10 CUCs for a pasta dish and 7 for a pizza. Decent red wine is also available by the glass for 4 CUC or there is the usual good range of cocktails at 3/4 CUC.More

This was a very pleasant paladar (private home that is also public restaurant). Very nice family greeted us, pleasant surroundings. We were served lovely shish kebob that we tender and tasty. Every paladar served excellent flan, this one no exception. It was one of the...better meals we had (eating at paladars twice a day for a week--stay away from scales when you return from Havana).More

At first sight this restaurant seemed perfect. When walking by we were intrigued and booked a table for the next day. After taking seat outside, we ordered our drinks and some french fries. Apart from the fact that one cannot call the dish french fries...because they did not come close to anything similar to french fries, we were negatively surprised by the fellow guests. Mediterraneo Havana considers itself as a high-end Cuban restaurant, but allows its guests to watch videos on their mobile phone at full volume and have skype/whatsup conversations at full volume (loud speaker). Beside the other guests, we were the only guests in the restaurant. After having walked all day long, we longed for a "normal" place, where people would just be respectful to each other. Far from it! When telling the waiter inside that the other guests were extremely loud, the bartender started yelling at us! We were told that the restaurant is not responsible for its guests' behaviors. However, when going to a nice restaurant, Europeans and Americans expect other people to behave in a "normal behavior", sticking to the required code within restaurants. Nerv-racking sounds on Whatsapp, Youtube, watching YouTube videos and talking on Skype for 15 Minutes is not part of "normal behavior" within a supposedly high-end restaurant. This might be a one-time event. However, it shows how little attention the restaurant pays to creating an atmosphere in which foreigners feel welcome. What a truly disappointing experience! I have been to Cuba for 6 times - and this was clearly the worst experience I had.More

I was planning on writing s positive review of this restaurant as was looking forward to eating there. Unfortunately our food at Mediterraneano Havana last night was truly disappointing. We ate at this restaurant 3 weeks ago and the food was delicious- not so last...night. When I received my ravioli it was cold, under cooked and tough. I sent it back and waited and waited while my husband finished his main course. My husband ordered seafood soup and picked out all the shrimp complaining they had a bleached flavour. Next the waiter came to clear the table and asked if we wanted anything else? I asked if I was getting my ravioli back? He said he put it in the oven and had forgotten about it and promptly bought it out telling me the plate was very hot. I was shocked that the waiter had put the pasta in the oven to cook it - as this will merely make the pasta hot. I thought the chef would have tasted the pasta and cooked fresh pasta. Clearly the pasta had been put in the oven as the pasta was now hot but still tough and the tomato sauce significantly drier. By this time I had lost my appetite but ate my tough ravioli as it was getting late too late to go elsewhere and reordering seemed like it would be an ordeal. Very disappointing.More

My wife and I went to the restaurant for dinner one night and we ended up having a different view of our meals. My wife had the Lasagna which she found to be very tasty while I had Scallap of Cerdo which I found to...be dry, not tender and quite bland. The server never asked us how our meals were until we were finished. When I told him my view, he said I should have called him out to tell him and I am of the opinion that he should check with the client.More

I went here on the last day of my trip in Havana, walking in we all said to ourselves that it felt very high end having spent most of our 4 days in the old town. The setting was great out on the terrace. The...food was good and enjoyable and on the higher end of what we had been eating in Havana. In line with the trip to Havana I found it to be pricey as the cost were on par with European cities which given the low wage and property cost seem out of sync, I paid $10 for a basic pizza, my partner closer to $15 for pasta, when you off set this with an average monthly wage of $40, it really does start to ask why are prices so high, example I was eating good meal in Prague for less than this.More

The food was outstanding and it kept coming. We were served 2 appetizers, then a course of homemade ravioli, followed by the entrees of fish, lamb and pork with fresh vegetables and dessert was flan or ice cream. The food is farm to table and...it did not disappoint. I highly recommend this paladar to anyone visiting Havana.More

This family owned restaurant served our group of 11 a delicious farm to table/sea to table/ organic meal today. A charcuterie plate with homemade cheeses started the meal and a mojito. The meats and cheeses were excellent and were served with a warm herbed bread...similar to pita. Delicious. A raw thin sliced grouper in oil and lemon was next and was tasty and very fresh. A marinara spaghetti, two egg plant Parmesan and spinach and cheese stuffed ravioli were the next course followed by a local red snapper and fresh cooked vegetables. Dessert was fresh homemade guava ice cream and espresso to complete. Service was good. Papa is an Italian chef and owner. Wonderful meal and would highly recommend.More
