We ate here TWICE for dinner. The seafood paella was probably the best I have ever had. We came back for it the 2nd time, and for whatever reason they told us they couldn't make it. We had lobster instead which was fabulous! The downside was NYCity prices. But that is standard in Cuba.

It is an amazing paladar to taste the most the Cuban most famous cuisine. Coctails are super well prepared and staff is very friendly. There is only one thing I don't like: they have two menus, one for Cubans and one for tourists. Both are exactly the same, but the prices are doubled. Once yoy know it, you can either... More

ok, so where do I start, following a visit to my in-laws house 2 blocks from this restaurant, my wife and I decided to check it out. Our house is in the Playa district, that generally has better restaurants (which are also less prone to scams due to being off the tourist trail), but we said what the hell. The... More

I was told about this place by one of the hotel staff. He took us walking to the place which wasn't too far from the Hotel Saratoga. I ordered 'fricase de pollo' with rice and fried bananas, which was great with large portions. My mother ordered a olive pizza. It was average, but then again we're in Cuba... why order... More

We enjoyed a pleasant dinner here in this quiet, cosy paladar - pork, rice and beans. We came here for local style dishes and were quite satisfied with the simple dishes served to us. We would come here again for the same dishes, but elsewhere for some of the more unique Havana offerings.

A door man MARCELO at our hotel Saratoga recommend to us ( I think he gets commission ) bcs he told us it was the best paladar in Havana, he personally walked us from our hotel to this paladar ( to get his commission). Bad service, horrible food... I had a grilled chicken with rice and beans, the chicken didn't... More

Decent food in a little hole-the-wall near El Capitolio. Prices a little high. A good deal of the extensive menu was not available and the offerings for vegetarian very limited.

We were told of this place by a local hotel doorman. The location is tucked away on a small side street near the Capitolio with a speak-easy feel at the front door. The 3 of us all enjoyed the food and thought it was collectively the best meal we had over our 4 days in town. Very local in feel,... More

Reading some of the recent reviews you'd think this restaurant should be avoided; that would be a mistake. A good menu, interesting dishes, very helpful and pleasant staff. El Viejo Enrike is small, a dozen tables at most, in two rooms, so reservations are recommended. As for expense, CUC (the convertible peso) prices are expensive, especially if you convert US$....
