Easily the most expensive meal of the holiday, but what a place. We had noticed it a couple of times and been enthralled by the interesting interior, although the upstairs room where we ate could not be seen from the street. The floor, and particularly...the walls and ceiling, were covered in various artefacts, clocks, vintage adverts and old photographs, mainly of film stars. Both food and service were very good (although I do find it irritating when a waiter tries to take the bottle off you when you are pouring out the wine) and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal of Pumpkin Soup and Suckling Pig. The cost of the meal was exacerbated by the ridiculously high price for wine: $35 for a bottle of fairly ordinary red wine is much more than I would expect to pay in Europe, never mind Cuba.More

Sometimes the best dining experiences are those you simply stumble across — and that is precisely what happened here. I spotted the rooftop terrace while strolling around town and made a beeline. I am glad I did, because this was the best meal I had...in Havana and probably anywhere else in Cuba ...a country where dining out can be an incredibly mixed bag. This restaurant oozes character, with excellent service and a wonderful menu of Cuban fusion. You can sense the pride they take in their work and it’s quite infectious. You just really want to like the place when you sit down in the charming little rooftop terrace and thankfully they make it thoroughly easy to like. It is, comparatively, an expensive place to eat by Cuban standards but — for what you get — it would be considered pretty decent value in a major European city. At the time of leaving Cuba, the country was about to go into a lockdown for reasons we all know of. When tourism returns to Havana, I hope this restaurant continues to get the credit it deserves.More

Atmospheric and great food with good service. Overall a bit expensive compared to other places we ate so we didn't return, but we did enjoy it.

I've eaten here twice now, and the second time was even better than the first! It's a really fun spot just a few blocks walking from Habana Vieja. It has lots of old Hollywood movie pics and memorabilia hanging on the walls and an occasional...chair hanging from the ceiling. The suckling pig is one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life!! Really, that good! Friendly service, reasonable prices and excellent food and menu. My friends got the tacos (not normally a Cuban dish) but they were excellent as well!More

Words cannot express this dining experience!!! From the professional staff to the great ambiance(we sat at the same table that the king and queen of spain sat at/pictures were behind us) and exceptional food this restaurant was by far our favourite dining experience while in...Cuba!! Ivan is the former personal chef to Fidel Castro...enough said. My husband had the suckling pig and I had the New York steak in a wine reduction. Probably the best steak I have ever eaten...better yet than any filet mignon I have ever eaten....all about the preparation!!! This restaurant should be number one on your list while in Havana!!!More

Havana has many nice paladars with great atmosphere and delicious food. I thought that Ivan Chef was below average in terms of food quality and quantity. The atmosphere was nice but there are many others with similar decor, better food at much lower prices. We...ate very little and paid 40 CUC, equal to 40 Euros with only water included. My personal advice is to pay the same amount for a more superior dinner or pay less somewhere else. Service was good but I would not recommend this place at these extremely high prices with no drinks included ( many paladars include a mojito and wine at this price.)More

I love the interior of Ivan Justo - such a charming place. I recommend coming here for lunch and to get a table on the top floor. Order lots of appetizers to share instead of ordering one of the main meals (the appetizers are often...better).More

Each of our 4 prior nights dining experiences at our 5 star concierge's suggestion left us pondering whether Cuban gourmet exists or it's an oxymoron. Our last night here affirmatively answered our question. All 4 of us ordered different plates. Everything was scrumptiously succulent, the...service was excellent and the ambiance is cozy. Don't miss this experience!More

Having dined just around the corner the previous evening, we found Ivan Chef Justo quite easily, although as entry is through just one door leading to the upper level it could be easy to miss. That would indeed be a great pity, as the food...was extremely good and was a close rival of our previous nearby Paladar. The atmosphere is one of special seclusion and added to a lovely dining experience.More

You need to call them and reserve. Either you get through from your country (which I couldn’t) or you get you hotel/host in Havana to call and reserve for you. Few days in advance should be enough
