I called this place an “Arts-taurant” as the art that adorns the walls (which I think are also for sale) make this restaurant feel truly like a classic paladares. You are in someone’s home at the end of the day but being able to dine inside a home filled with gorgeous art is a wonderful thing. The food itself was a bit slow to come out but when it did, it was delicious. Now I wouldn’t say it was the best meal I’ve ever had, but I think given my relative expectations in Havana, this exceeded my expectations. The staff as attentive, the drinks menu was ample and the environment provides of a great salon/dinner experience.

Adorable roof top restaurant! A must go! Many of the restaurants in Havana are government owned and ran. However, this little gem is privately owned specifically supporting the Cuban people. Stop here and have dinner at Antelier and you're all set!
We had the perfect Air BnB host as well if you're looking for a true cultural experience!

Looking for something to eat, we were checking out and found this hidden gem. The first we saw was the amazing house, entering and enjoying all the art on the walls in different intimate rooms.
The food was really great and served with a smile in a very friendly way.

We ordered the seafood and fish dish (bajo del mar). We were told that it included fish, shrimps and lobster (langosta). It was pricier than elsewhere, but we did not really mind, figuring it would be worth it. However, the plate included only a filet of fish, with vegetables. When we asked why there was only fish, we were told that the dish was either fish or shrimps or langosta. This was not what we were told when we ordered. I can accept an overpriced meal, but not being lied to.
That being said, the food (croquetas, fish) was good.

There was a group there as we arrived and we asked the manager of there would be a delay
OH NO . they have ordered .
An hour and 40 min s later arrived the overcooked oversalted risotto
Horrible experience made worse by over familiar owner endlessly explaining that the delay was normal for a dish of this complexity
Uff

Le Chansonnier is since its opening perhaps some 20 years ago one of my favourites if it comes to nice dining and wining. Not so this week! About more then 60% of its menu was not available. No french onion soup? No rabbit? What a disappointment because the whole thing of going here with my good friend was celebrating his birthday. So after a short conversation with the very nice waitress we decided to leave.
What a pitty.

We had dinner with a large group. This place is non-descript from the outside, but once you enter you are in for a treat. Nicely decorated with artwork, and a beautifully set table make for a comfortable setting. Traditional, pork, snapper, shrimp dishes were well prepared and presented. Service was pleasant, efficient and responsive. Fine dining.

I was looking for a restaurant near the Air BNB I was staying at and this one was literally up the block from where I was staying so I decided to give it a try. A little hard to find at night, but when we walked in I was blown away by the beauty and decor of the interior. The entre selections were all surprisingly unique and hard to choose from as they all looked delicious. I ordered the lamb and my husband ordered the paella and were very pleased with our food. I highly recommend this restaurant and will return again!

This meal set the tone for a quick and magical trip to Cuba.
We'd landed for a music festival gig (Eyeife; if you're a fan of electronic music check it out!) after a late night in New York, and early start at JFK -- tired and so hungry. Straight into soundcheck, with a quick few hour window to get some food and rest. Our driver took us down a nice but nondescript residential street, pulled up to a house, and smiled - saying we were about to have a nice meal.
We'd been brought to a paladar -- one of Cuba's first. These are the legendary family-run restaurants in houses ("underground restaurants") that weren't legalized until the 90s. If I had been walking past it, I probably wouldn't have stopped.
For the next couple hours we ate, in this stunning home brimming with all kinds of artwork in every beautiful room. Salads, lobster, swordfish, octopus; everything was deliciously prepared and so humanizing after the travel. For Havana prices I know this wasn't a cheap meal, but for what we ordered and drank it was a serious value compared to back home - maybe USD 30 each for actual hours of food and drink. It was exactly what was needed ahead of another late night.
I look forward to returning here one day and have been recommending it to everyone who tells me they are planning a trip to Cuba!

This place is very unassuming from the outside but once inside it is a calm, beautiful setting for dinner. The food was superb, the service was attentive but not pushy and the price was very reasonable for three courses.

This old Cuban house has been transformed beautifully and we are so glad we chose this place for dinner- slightly difficult to find as it is located on a street with mainly residential properties and only a small sign, but once we did we were amazed by the decor throughout and it was almost as if we were sitting in someone’s stunning house for dinner.
We received attentive service throughout and the food was very good (maybe not as good as it could have been, but very nice nevertheless)- around $15 for a main course. However, the signature Mojito was amazing - my husband said it was the nicest mojito he had ever tasted, we think it was topped with Prosecco? I also had the sangria which was delicious and reasonably priced. The service, ambience and drinks make this venue a must see whilst in Havana!

Excellent food and even better service. The young lady that waited on us was great. She spoke English and Spanish, this was great since some of my group spoke only English and only Spanish. I had the Lamb (Cordero) and it was the best I have had in Havana. The flan was really good! I have eaten in many Vedado, Miramar and Seboney restaurants and this spot was top of the list. I will be back and try a new dish.

We had the good fortune to spend Christmas Eve at this gorgeous restaurant a short walk from where we were staying in Vedado. They were offering an expensive set menu or a few items a la carte - we chose the latter. Amazing wine list (a real rarity in Havana), attentive service, and good food. The pork wasn't the best we've had in Havana, but the kids raved about the pumpkin soup. The artwork is amazing and the ambiance really old world and classy. They were very accommodating when our friends arrived around 9:30 pm and quickly fed their family of 5 as well. Highly recommend this place.
