This restaurant was recommended by a local resident. I would be remiss not to share a comment he provided us. "Be careful not to fall for the scammers who will try to hustle you to their restaurant." This turned out to be very true. You...see, Dona Eutimia is located at the back end of a tiny street, and there are numerous other restaurants in the same alley with staff out front to try and lure you to their restaurant. These other establishments may very well offer good food as well, I don't know. But I do know they try aggressively to prevent you from getting back to Dona Eutimia! Dona Eutimia offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for inside and were amused by the tiny spiral staircase leading us to the second floor. (We were astonished watching waitstaff speedily go up and down these stairs while carrying plates of food!!) Of all the restaurants we visited during this trip to Havana, this location had the best drinks, hands down. Most at our table had mojitos or caipirinhas, but I opted for a cubanita (not knowing what it was). Turns out it is a variation of a bloody Mary, using rum rather than vodka. It became my drink of choice throughout the rest of our visit to Havana, and no one made a better version of it than Dona Eutimia. Very spicy!! The service was wonderful, and the waitstaff were all very helpful and informative. I LOVE frituras de malanga, and theirs were outstanding. The honey dipping sauce wasn't needed, the fritters were delicious on their own! I also had the Nicoise Salad, which was a beautifully presented dish, and very tasty. Other dishes at our table included chicken and pork, and everyone was delighted with their selections. It was an extremely satisfying lunch, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was delightful. We were so pleased to have had Dona Eutimia recommended to us. We will most certainly return on our next visit to Havana.More

Best food I had during my stay in cuba! It’s not very easy to find but worth it, suggested to us by a local. We attempted to go a second time but ran out of time.

My favorite restaurant in Habana and we ate there again! Everything is super scrumptious and beautifully presented. Service was again excellent as well. Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Probably need a reservation though, as the word has been out for sometime now...and they’ve always been very busy when we’ve been there.More

Recommended this little place by a local tour rep. It is located at the end of a small cul-de-sac along with a few other restaurants in the heart of the old town, the atmosphere is good. We (family of 4 Adults and a child) were...welcomed warmly by helpful staff who explained the menu and made recommendations for drinks and food. The food and drink were all of really good quality, prepared fresh and presented well. Our family favourites were the fish in garlic sauce and the ropa vieja (especially the black beans on the side). They were happy to accept US dollar to pay and have a fair exchange rate and fair prices. Our only regret is that our child was worn out from a combination of jet lag and walking around Havana in the heat and couldn’t stay longer. Thank you.More

At the suggestion of our Cuban friend, my girlfriend and I came to this restaurant for lunch. It served authentic Cuban food, drinks, and above all -- had great service. Given this, when he wanted to take us out for dinner later that day, we...told him we'd like to return to the same restaurant. The prices were reasonable, and we didn't want him to spend too much money on us. We were also surprised he'd never been to the restaurant and only knew of it via Trip Advisor. Unfortunately, it was a completely different experience when we returned for dinner. The staff was the same, and they were pleased to see me and my girlfriend again, but the moment they saw our Cuban friend, their expressions changed. We learned later they were not happy to have a local Cuban in their establishment. It was devastating for us to realize how the staff mistreated our friend. This was in stark contrast to a family of Cubans who sat at a table next to us. They were vacationing from Miami and very well treated since they were not locals. As a tourist, it makes me ill to see this type of classism. Without our friend, we would've never discovered this place, and to see him devalued as a human being in his own country was an eye-opener. Even though he said this type of behaviour is not new for him, we could not stop apologizing for our choice of restaurant. To the staff at Dona Eutimia: You have good food and a nice environment, but your treatment of our Cuban friend shows you do not value your own people, and this is NOT acceptable to us. Please do better.More

A bit pricy for the quality of food that we got. The lobster was very dry and hard. Very nice black beans though. The waiter was not so friendly which gave us a bad impression.

Authentic food in the heart of Havana. This cute little restaurant is slightly hidden away off one of the main plazas. Very reasonably priced the staff were very attentive and the food was excellent. I would recommend the traditional lamb ropa vieja.

Great meal, well priced and service is excellent. Only cost us about 75 euros for three people for three courses (ask to pay in euro,as in all private cuban restaurants these days). The house Mojito frappe is to die for!

Our guide in old Havana recommended this place for dinner, and we decided to give it a try. It's located in a back alley in the old town, with a lot of similar looking restaurants near by. But choosing this one is a good choice....We had the ropa vieja, and it was just excelent, so was the beans and rice. Great atmosphere with the most charming street musicians in Havana standing right outside. We visited this place on our first night in Cuba, and ended up going back two weeks later, when our trip was coming to an end, just to experience that meal one more time. That's how good it was.More

Food was delicious, the starters, the main courses, and deserts, good variety, feels like eating old granma's food, made with lots of love. The Mamey and the Coconut Icecream made me go back, as well as the lamb "ropa vieja". Became one of my favorites...restaurants in Havana.More

Find their mail on their tripadvisor page and write them; that will be my first option if not yet in Cuba where it's better not to trust phone reservations but go personally

American dollars aren't popular in Cuba. You pay 10% extra costs when you change dollars. So better take other currency. In many hotels you can change, also at the bank. And of course at the airport, outside.
