DONT GO. RUN AWAY. This is not a restaurant, but an extorsion desk. This has been by very, very far the worst food experience in our 3 weeks trip to Cuba, and probably in the last 10 years. We ordered fish and pork, and we first saw our fish we thought they got wrong with the orders. But no -... More

My friends and I walking through Havana old streets came across this little place Mielo was standing outside smiled and invited us in for a beer he was charming and we made arrangements to return the next day for lunch At 1pm. The next day I went back to tell him we would late one hour. No Problema, so the... More

We followed the German Müller Guide (and TripAdvisor) to try this place and regretted it immediately as well as 1 day later. Our table was not very clean, however, the service friendly. After waiting a while, the served menu was of a horrible taste, sort of a smelly fish. Well, this may be a bit the way the Cubans cook... More

Ate in this place off a Lonely Planet recommendation. Our first restaurant in Habana so we weren't fully sure what to expect on prices or service. Basically, don't go. The prices are extremely expensive for this type of food. Paladar is supposed to be a home-restaurant with very affordable prices for standard fair food. While the food was exactly what... More

While the food at Bellomar is not impressive and is actually quite pricey compared to other paladars, the host's warmth made up for it. He was very friendly and even remembered us on our second visit. The popularity of this paladar may have to do with the fact there really isn't much around the neighbourhood; also it probably appears in... More

We followed our Time Out Havana guidebook's advice and landed at Bellomar for lunch. We were the only patrons there. The owner was quite friendly, so even though the 15CUC per meal seemed steep, we decided to give it a shot. It was the worst food we ate during week in Havana. The owner recommended we order the house special... More

We found this little place in Lonely Planet and the comment was "great but why is it empty?" That was exactly our experience. We went back a second time with seasoned Cuba travellers and they said it was the best meal they had had. Everything is delicious, right down to the desserts. Had one of the best flans ever! Delightful... More

More

This is like the Hard Rock of Centro, mom-and-pop version. Honestly, we weren't really sure what to expect walking in here. We stayed in a casa around the corner, and always passed the friendly owners hanging out on their stoop. Once inside, we fought the urge to walk back out and settled into a table to take in all the... More
