To start off, Chinese food in Latin America will never be as authentic as you would like it. Every country has their own version of what their take is on Chinese food. That said, my husband and I enjoyed our lunch here. It wasn't quite what we expected, but the food was good, and the servers tried very hard to... More

Lonely Planet advises to sit outside in the action packed Cuchillo (street name). Duly we sat outside, but, found it difficult to see where the action was taking place. Cuchillo is a narrow alleyway and seemingly leads nowhere. It’s either the first restaurant you come to, or the last, depending on which way you approach it, but the action was... More

We really enjoyed the dumplings (fried and steamed) and the Dan Dan noddles. We sat outside which was nice. The service was a little slow but things move at a different speed in Cuba.

We were super pleased with our find in this wonderful Chinese restaurant! The style of cooking is more Northern Chinese (not southern). Whilst it is impossible to exactly replicate the good stuff of fancy restaurants / places in China, this place does a really good job at super low prices (where else to get a big plate of stir fried... Our first night in Havana we got in rather late. We were staying at a casa that was in Barrio Chino and we started walking nearby to find a place to eat. We walked by and saw this place down a small street, with outside seating and rather full considering all the other spots we saw were empty. There were... More

We arrived in Playa on Chinese new years, so we felt like we had to partake in the festivities with authentic Chinese food. With that said, this place definitely did not disappoint!

It might be one of the best chinese restaurants in Havana but thats not saying much! Go eat some cuban food and give this a miss, the food is pretty average and we got sick from eating there. Never mind what the review says in lonely planet, its clearly gone downhill since the many years ago this place was reviewed.... More

I looked carefully at all the other restaurants but the choice was clear. We were not disappointed by the very good and clearly Chinese food we ate. Other diners there were Chinese so that seems to be a good sign....

For starters, this is the ONLY Chinese restaurant in El Cuchillo, the rest are Creole (which is fine), but if you're looking for anything close to Chinese, this is the only place. I found Tien Tan about a decade ago by accident. By the time I came back I had been living in Mainland China (and Taiwan!) for the past... More

I actually ate here twice on my recent trip. The restaurant is located in "China Town" behind the national capital building at the end of the alley. Prices were reasonable and the service was great the first evening but was extremely slow the next time we visited. Evidently there was a large group upstairs for which the restaurant was not...
