Upon arrival the staff was very friendly and inviting, and they remained very attentive throughout our time there. We had dinner plans later in the day, so we only ordered a few small things. I ordered the Ropa Vieja and it was perfectly done...I enjoyed...it very much. A few other items that came to the table that we all shared were the croquetas, a polenta and another croqueta-like appetizer that I can't remember the name of, but all were spectacular...particularly the polenta. One of my fellow diners had a pork dish that was so juicy and tasty. We all wished we hadn't had dinner plans in a few hours as we wanted to eat more here. Highly recommend!More

One of the best dinner experiences during our trip through Cuba - and for sure ghe best in Havanna. Special thanks to Elianne who really took care of us. We definitely recommend the restaurant - as - already mentioned by others - already the first...impression: Interior, friendliness of staff and by far the Mojitos exeeded our expectations. The starters - some local soup (forgot the name) surprised us as well as the main dishes. Either seafood, pork or beef - each meal tasted just great. We had no space for dessert left.... ;-)More

I've eaten here about eight times. Previously, i've had the whole fix and meat dishes. This time I had the lamb chilindron (a stew with carrots, peppers and lovely spices). The drinks are great. The wine is better than others. This faces a park called...Parque Cervantes, a wifi hotspot. I used to like sitting in the front seats because i could do wifi at the same time. But there was the Havana heat and flies. Now, they've closed the doors and turned on the air, even in February, and it's better. Like many restaurants in Havana Vieja, it's a bit hard to find because there's no vertical sign to be seen while walking, but it's worth the search.More

What a great experience when one shows up at a restaurant, late, tired and starving and one is welcomed with delicious food, and fast-friendly-amazing service. This was our experience here. The drinks are very good too by the way. Try the “tamal in casuela”. The...best I’ve eaten in my life. This is definitely in my top 3 restaurants in Havana to recommend.More

I can honestly say this was my favorite meal in my entire visit to Cuba. My girlfriend and I have been traveling through Cuba for a few weeks now and just stopped back into Havana. We were deciding where to go for dinner and she...found San Juan and said that it had good reviews. When we arrived it was adorable inside and air conditioned (but not to a feverish degree). The bartender was amazing with our first round of drinks. He was generous with his pours and did an stellar job muddling the lime into the honey for my canchanchara. For food we ordered the pumpkin cream soup, the lobster tail and sides of yucca and sautéed vegetables. The soup was perfectly textured and the sweetness of the pumpkin was balanced excellently with a bit of chopped bacon for saltiness. The lobster tail was gargantuan. I legitimately can’t remember that last time I saw a lobster tail this big. It was sautéed with chopped herbs and served on its shell and you have to believe me when I tell you that it was the most tender and well seasoned but of shellfish I’ve had in a long time. On top of that it came with a side of rice and amazing Cuban black beans and a vegetable salad (we were pretty overwhelmed in the best possible way with the amount of food they gave us). The yucca was like buttery mashed potatoes and served with onions that had been lightly caramelized and hit with a bit of lime. They were perfectly balanced and were exactly the starch the meal needed. The vegetables were likewise extremely flavorful and mixed magically with the beans and rice. Oh! And they brought us out a special habanero hot sauce they make in house to be added as we wished to our dishes. It’s was spicy and so damn flavorful. I wish I could bring it home with me. Even after all this food we had to try there dessert so we ordered there flan. It was the perfect size of us to share after that extraordinary meal. It’s texture was like velvet and it wasn’t overloaded on floppy caramel sauce. The staff were all incredibly nice and spoke excellent English. The owner even checked in on us during our meal. Easily 10/10 Will be coming back next time I’m in HavanaMore

Excellent staff and food! Wonderful bartenders as well with some of the best cocktails we had in Havana. Try the daiquiris, gin and tonic or the mojitos. You can't go wrong.

Wherever struggling where to have some good food in Havana, San Juan is your savior, I ordered one of their special with lobster, fish fillet and shrimp with vegetables, they have some sweet potatoes chips on the house and they serve excellent Daiquiri, We have...mango and grapes, the density and quality is so good, they can help adjust sugar amount if you ask for it, they will be happy to custom made for you. It was so good that I went in next evening and enjoy another pineapple daiquiri, which won’t disappoint you for sure. And their starters are also with good quality, we ordered beef carpaccio, imagine how hard to get some permansan cheese in Cuba, and the price is totally reasonable with this standard, and they always concern your need, I will give 10 stars to this restaurant if I can. Bon appetite ~More

A grill house where you can see the chefs cooking in the kitchen. We were given Fried sweet potatoes on the house which was nice. We shared a Pork belly starter.. which was seasoned well and was tender. For mains we both had the grilled...chicken which comes on the bone.. again nicely seasoned skin.. but one little patch near to the bone on one portion were perhaps a little bit too much on the pink side.. but it was tasty grilled chicken. The Rice and black bean side was also good. There's quite a few specials on offer such a grilled lobster.. the table next to us had this and it looked good. There was an English speaking waitress, aircon, light music in the background they also served a good passion fruit mojito. Food, 3 beers and 2 mojitos 40CUC before tip.More

Recommended by our hotel, this restaurant was by far one of the best we ate at in Havana. A wood grill preparing great steak and chicken. A class act with a casual atmosphere. Mid-range prices and for sure a do not miss place!

We were seated straight away but it was mid-week. I would recomment booking if it is the weekend as it is in the top 10 trip advisor it will be popular, especially if a cruise comes in.
