I stay in a casa just a few short blocks from Cafe Brown. It is a small, but nice place to stop , for a drink, a meal, a snack. Bartenders, and family very nice. I ordered a birthday cake for my casa owner there,...just 6 cuc, and delicious. Do not pass this place without stopping. !More

This typical bar/restaurant in San Lazaro offers outstanding service, food and drinks and food for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended for a cheap quality quick eat.

This little venue quickly turned to our local source for an excellent meal, snack or drinks. They also gave us good information regarding the internet and cash exchange. Best margarita in Havana! Do not miss it if staying nearby.

Fantastic food and a nice coffee. Would definitely come back here next time I'm in town. Ropa vieja was the best I had in Cuba.

Having spent several days paying prices I would expect to pay in some of Europe’s capitals, I was in search of something more inline with what I expected to pay in Cuba and so we thought we would try here. It’s more a bar than...a restaurant but do t be put off the food it good and the cocktails excellent especially the Pina Coladas (have one as a desert as they are very sweet). We had 6 cocktails (a pina colada each) and 5 food dishes for 46 CUC so overall I found it to be great value and the guys behind the bar extremely friendly.More

My wife and I first discovered Cafe Brown 2 1/2 years ago when a local tour-guide friend suggested we go there for drinks and dinner. We loved it! And we took some good friends a year or so later. And I am happy to report...that the drinks and dinner are still fabulous, having just completed a support-for-the-Cuban-people trip to the island. Our favorite drink is the Cuban Fashion and our favorite dish is the Garbonzo Beans. The daiquiris, pork and pizza are also excellent. And the prices are a fraction of those in the tourist restaurants. We will surely visit again on our next trip.More

Eating a plant based diet is possible in Cuba if you have a kitchen to cook for yourself and are able to navigate your way around the fresh produce markets. If however you are relying on eating out there are very limited options as most...places struggle to even conceive the idea that you don't eat animal products. However the amazing staff at Cafe Brown Bar in San Lazaro Havana are very accommodating with a few options on their menu that can be adapted to suit vegetarians and even a vegan like me. The food is very tasty and satisfying, it has become my favourite place to eat out when I'm not cooking for myself.More

This cosy little place on San Lázaro street is definitely worth going to! Their piña colada is the best one I have drunk so far and the food was really fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly, know English and recommend the seasonal food and...drink that works with it.More
