A great spot for people who like to dance salsa or listen to salsa music! Went on a Saturday and had an amazing experience watching the professional dancers!

I had the opportunity to go to Jardines 1830 on two separate occasions. It was absolutely amazing. The live music, dance performances and opportunity to salsa the night away right next to the ocean was beyond incredible. I would definitely recommend going with locals and well seasoned salsa dancers if you want to get the most out of your night of salsa dancing. I'll definitely be hitting this spot on my next trip to Havana!

Great for those of us that love salsa and dancing. They have live cuban salsa bands, a dance group, great ambiance and a lot of fun.

After 16 times of bringing our students all the way from Australia to experience such a dance institution like the 1830 I have decided to cross off this place of the dance venue list. The dance floor is really bad and it can be dangerous, only a third of it was repaired, the rest has many cracks, the managers don’t worry about the state of the venue, they keep adding tables that take away space to the dance floor, result, bruises right and left.As this was not enough they have added a flash light that causes you to feel disoriented and carries a lot of heat so that you are covered in perspiration.I used to love this place, sadly I will avoid it on my next visits.

1830 is a great salsa establishment on the water, at the end of the Malecón. Don't be intimidated by the high-performing local dancers, they're very friendly.
*Note: sometimes the tide along the wall will bring back sewage, so there may be a smell to one side of the establishment.

We discovered this place by accident stopped in during the day time and it was like entering a nice country club, lots of private rooms a small but very practical bar. We sat in the outside garden and enjoyed a couple of Ice cold adult beverages and admired the view, after talking the waitress we explored the unusual coral gardens. Later we returned at night and watched al the incredible dancers, this is really two places in one.
Tip: if you come back at night for the dancers the entrance door is on the side of the building, its $6.00 to get in. The later it gets the better the dancers are.

Great location at the Malecón, nice view of the sea, bar outside with many tables, a stage and a dance floor. The quiet garden behind the stage is perfect for a walk after drinks/ dancing. The atmosphere and music there is fantastic, great opportunity to see professional dancers performing, learn salsa/ rumba if you're a beginner and for the more advanced dancers- a chance to meet and dance with Cubans. Rueda every time! It's a shame they close at 1am! I keep coming back there whenever I can. The entrance is a bit pricey (5 CUC) but it is definitely worth it.

To be frank 1830 was the worst part of my trip to Havana - surprisingly, considering it's popularity and recommendations. The entry was an outrageous $15CUC and even though we dined at the restaurant, the bouncers expected us to wait out the 3 hour line (which we didn't do). 1830 had a Miami Beach's Mansion vibe, negative. The Friday night crowd was snobby and rude, was the location and pricey cover to blame? The bar system was incredibly inefficient - we waited 25 mins for BEER before getting frustrated and leaving. Not to mention, doors opened at 10:00 and at 12:45 the band hadn't taken the stage yet. I would've rated it one star had the venue not been on the water and we enjoyed our experience at the restaurant. Would 100% recommend going to Fabrica del Arte close by instead.

Beautiful spot on the water. The band was excellent. The drinks weren't expensive, but 10 cucs to get in is a lot, especially for Cuba.

If you love salsa and dancing, this place is a must. Open air, dance floor and great entertainment. Drinks are cheap, shows are excellent. Dance the night away...and write about it.

Among the most renowned salsa place in Havana that has maintained its popularity over many years. Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and recently Saturday night it gets packed with local “salseros” and tourists who travel to Cuba primarily to learn and enjoy salsa. Open air venue next to the sea in an historic setting gives the place a unique ambiance. Cover is CUC 3.
Be prepared that the place attracts many “jineteros” (male hustlers) too that might become annoying if you don’t know how to firmly and convincingly turn them off. Be aware of pickpockets as well.

Writing a review about this place brings back so many memories! Where else can you dance under the stars, a full open air dance floor and surrounded by so many wonderful dancers! Cubans are very proud of their dancing skills and they do it well. They are also very proud of you for trying. This place was magical. Live bands, music at its best and an atmosphere that I have never seen anywhere else. The locals that attend Jardin 1830 are there to enjoy themselves dancing. They are there to lend you a helping hand to master to dance salsa.
Note : Sundays , they have matinee and night sessions . I would think the matinee sessions are to hot for dancing. Don't be late for the night session because this place actually closes at midnight on the dot! (Unlike Casa de la Musica). I think it cost us US$4 or $5 to get in - very cheap ( They are closed Mondays)
It will be a night that you will never ever forget!
Advice; do not feel shy about getting on the dance floor. Once you're on , you will not want to get off!
