We had fresh barracuda and it was delicious! They had a sauce with onions that complimented the fish plus rice and salad. Served piping hot and so fresh. You know it’s good when it’s full of locals!

Had the fried fish and goat stew here and both were very good. There was some bone in the stew, but that's just the way it is made I guess? It didnt bother me too much. Side dishes were good as well.
We love authentic food, so we came here on the weekend. As far as I remember it is only open on the weekend? Check out there facebook page for details. It is not as easy to find as there are no signs that will show...directions. Take google maps, that will guide you perfectly. Come here as soon a possible to get a variety. If something is sold out it will not be cooked again that day. You will order at the counter, the menu is written next to it. Be prepared to know some Spanish words, they might not speak English there. Then you can take a seat and wait until they will call out your number, again in Spanish. We had the goat stew and the fish, both very good. Try their "homemade"lemonade. It was very good as well. Highly recommend if you want to experience the original Bonaire.More
We really enjoyed our visit. The goat stew is abundant and delicious. I had fish on my 3rd visit in 3 days - wow. Yummy. Inexpensive. Must go!
For the best local food on the island you have to be at Maiky Snack restorant. No doubt the nr one in making local food. I live on the island and at regularly there. Serve food on Friday thru Sunday
Were on Bonaire for 10 days now. Best food we’ve had so far. Local dishes, beautifull location, nice people and cold beer. We had goat stew and catch of the day fish. Must visit! 40 dollar for 4 beer and 2 dishes.
The restaurant is situated In a windy, remote farmy setting with selfservice. No red carpet, just the perfect local food prepared on wood. I love the 'papaya stoba', my favorite. The rest of my family ate goat stew, fresh fish, soup and chicken stew. They...loved it all!More
I had heard about Maiky Snack the first time we visited Bonaire but we had trouble finding it and when we did finally find it it was closed. Second visit to Bonaire we saw a Maiky Snack food booth downtown at the Flag Day celebration....I tried the kabritu stoba/goat stew and I knew right then that this is a place worth driving down a long dirt road to reach.More
There is no menu, only the dishes on the board. I took the Goat with rice. It was absolutely delicious. You just sit where there is a free table. The ambiance is local and nice. It is possible to pay with a credit card. Tip:...make sure you know the way otherwise you can get lost. Please note that Maiky Snack is only open three days a week: Friday, Saturday and Sunday.More
This place offers a really good local experience with also great taste! Don't come here if you're looking for luxury, but go local!
We read up on local food on Bonaire. Found this spot. It's a bit of a drive. Seems to be situated with some surrounding farms. Neat area. My dining partner had the goat and I had the wahoo. He loved his. Mine was dry and...barely warm. Will keep looking for the best local food spot.More
I always take in Maiky Snack restaurant on Bonaire. It is located outside Kralendijk in the bush. The fish, chicken and goat dishes are superb! This is Caribbean food at its best. The food is served family style and is superb. The atmosphere is true...island. Don't expect atmosphere...you eat out in the open but the cultural experience is far beyond your expectations. I took several corporate CEO's for lunch there, they looked at Maiky's and were nervous, but after the excellent meal they wanted to go back. Can't beat it.More
If ever in Bonaire, Maiky's is a must go to place. Very popular and busy place. My husband and I were taken there by my family members, will definitely go again when I visit my birth country. Everybody feels like family there.
Wanna eat perfect local Caribbean food!? Well Maiky's is a must! No fuss, no red carpet: just great food! Goat stew, Fish, Chicken. Tried them all, all equally delicious!
Like the title says, here's no better place to eat than Maiky Snack. If the reef disappeared tomorrow, I'd still travel to Bonaire just so I could eat Maiky Snack's goat stew. Take a ride out into the Bonarian outback and have a great meal!
