Yes just 2 stars. The problem is they set the bar pretty high. Service was almost non existent I had to get servers attention. They cut the menu down to very few items. We used to love Filets now they serve a Ribeye on a...big piece of Log? No filet. We called for a reservation as recommended when we got there it’s not in the book (waste of time) Ribs where burnt. I had no idea what surf and turf that one in our party got. Steak and shrimp covered in some white sauce. On a positive note the view was good. Please bring back the Rum Runners of 2019!!!More

The food is as just ok. Really not worth the money. We waited for our check for a while. We asked a waiter who walked by us to see where our waiter went to so we could pay. He told us our waiter was scheduled...to get off at 9pm. so he left!!!! He didn’t tell us he was leaving and didn’t let anyone know that he still had a table! Poor service!!! I know it’s the Caribbean and service is always slow but we’ve never had this happen. Even if this didn’t happen it still wouldn’t have changed that the food is not good. I ordered the shrimp and pasta and the noodles were soggy! How does that even happen? I would not recommend this restaurant.More

Great view and location. We went twice. Bar has good food options, pizza was great. Main restaurant has many options. Catch of the day when we were there was tuna and this was done really nicely. The “main bowl” was a bit like a “tuna...tower”, very good.More

Was BBQ night. Very busy. We had excellent seating of the water view. The ribs were the star. Chef Miguel took time to speak to us while we thanked him for the very tasty ribs. We are from Texas so we know a little about...good ribs.More

Staying at Captain Don‘s Rum Runners is a natural choice also for diner. We had the baby ribs (great), the shrimp pasta (rich and very tasty) and some appetizers. The service was excellent, very professional and polite.

They have an incredible location where you can watch fish swim through the clear blue water while waiting for your food - and that is a good thing because when we went for lunch two different times we waited over 26 minutes just to order...our food the second time we visited. The food that day was not good, the burger was undercooked and sloppy. We went two other times for dinner and it was good. It is an average restaurant with resort-priced food and a stunning location. We went mostly for convenience and to watch the tarpon and fish while we ate our meals.More

A great spot with a view and dove site on your doorstep. The menu is limited and good is ok, but not special. We've been a few times and service can be a bit patchy. Overall it is worth a visit for the location.

Had a lovely dinner with friends. Beautiful setting and sunset. Our server was friendly but not willing to just say Mea Culpa. Drinks took FOREVER to arrive. It was the bars fault. No problem. She followed up about a second round of drinks. No problem....Again, we waited FOREVER. And my draft beer was forgotten. She said she was ""On it" but it never arrived. We reminded her and asked for it to be removed from the bill. Okay, no problem." Dessert and two dessert drinks again took forever to arrive. When the bill came it had the extra draft beer on it that should have been removed. I approached her about this and it wasn't her fault. I live on Bonaire. I don't mind slow service. In fact, I love it. This was different. Perhaps, a separate bar is needed to make dinner drinks and make the bar for bar patrons. Not sure. I'll be back but wanted to share this experience to help make my next experience better.More

We ate here as a recommendation from someone at our hotel and it didn’t disappoint. The pizza was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful! Sits right on the water and tarpin swim right off the shore. Make reservations because it was packed all night.

Acute food poisoning lovers, read below :) Below average restaurant with okay views. But I have never in my life been as sick as this, eating at rum runners made sure I was up all night with severe acute food poisoning. (perhaps a bit graphic,...sorry) After the dinner, it took about 1 hour to feel a little stomach ache, then after 4 hours everything came out. I hoped I was done, just throwing up and that's it. But no, I puked another 5 times that night and had severe diahhrea. Sitting on the toilet with a bucket between your knees really makes you look at things from a different perspective. I was up all night, and the 4 days after I was very sick and dehydrated. The restaurant manager is a terrible human being. When confronting the restaurant they wanted us to have a free breakfast, sure, but no thanks I will never eat there again. Apart from that we also had included breakfast in our own hotel. When I said to the manager that we already have breakfast, she said, 'Okay then we cannot do anything for you, so you can leave now'. After a lot of calls, not being answered, not being able to speak to the owner (which is probably also a terrible human being), I was so sick and fed up with this place that I just left it. We got the money back for just my dish (21.50 dollars). Never have I ever had such a bad experience. Please do not eat here and do not consider it.More

This was a mixed experience. Service was very slow and scattered. We were sitting next to a broken fountain that was full of mosquitos. Food was pretty good, but had clearly been sitting under the warming lights for a while. The margarita was not good...at all.More

We have been going to Rum Runners every visit to Bonaire. We love the sunset view and tarpon at night. Food is good. This time service wasn’t as good as the last visit during COVID. I asked three different waitstaff for additional water and no...one brought another container over or filled my glass. Make a reservation a night or two before to ensure a seat.More

We visited the rum runners bar a few tmes during our stay in Bonaire and every time we had good fun. The view from the bar is fantastic but the best is the bartender that mixes the cocktails perfectly with a lot of joy.

Somewhat limited menu offerings that gets a bit tiring during a week of diving. Level of service varied widely (some of the wait staff were excellent, while others merely going-thru-the-motions. Kudos for the rum-based cocktails though.
