Was a little worried as this had been my wife’s favourite venue on the island. But in spite of the changes - owners, chef, decoration, we had a fantastic evening. Interestingly our waiter was from the old team, which we thought good, and said things...were going well. I had the veal chop which was fantastic and two of our friends shared the T-bone which looked spectacular. Don’t be put off by the changes, you won’t regret itMore

It was like a scene from faulty towers. Manuel on the guitar, The Ceasar salad came with no chicken they gave us left over dried turkey from xmas day, a waiter knocked an ice bucket over one of our party, which ended her meal. The...manager Basil Faulty offered us some free bread to compensate, Need I go on. Please save your well earned cash and go elsewhere.More

Gone is the lovely interior with interesting artwork and plush furnishings. It’s been replaced with a bland interior / cheap looking Scandi sofas. A terrible band and then awful playlist. The supposed Michelin star chef managed to produce very poor, bland food. The waiting staff...all gave us the daily catch differently and didn’t provide anywhere near the level of service expected or what used to be. Cheap looking uniforms too. The menu is really disappointing with overpriced and poorly produced pizza, pasta etc. The bread was dry and stale with a cheap olive oil. $500 for 2 courses and a bottle of average wine. This used to be a must visit in Barbados, sadly not anymore.More

Really poor quality food, service lacking - very poorly trained waitress, music choice irritating and overall just very very expensive. We won’t be back. Such a shame as the Cliff Beach Club was a favourite.

Took my family there under the new Quattro passi. The service is absolutely awful - no urgency in anything and all the kids upset. Don’t take your family - it will ruin your evening. Management have no understanding of service and no idea of what...is going on. Don’t go hereMore

We had a birthday lunch on Boxing Day. Our drinks were superb-- beware their strength-- they go down easily. I absolutely delighted in my pork belly appetizer. Our mains were also great. I ordered the lentil dahl and I could not believe it had a...big, fat, ugly carrot in the middle. I attribute that to culinary and aesthetic laziness given that everything else in the menu was exquisite in flavor and presentation.More

We booked reasonably well in advance so had a nice rail side table. We did get caught in the diversion on the way from west coast so probably added about 10 mins onto journey. We had some lovely cocktails whilst waiting for our table. We...noticed that the bathrooms no longer play phileas fogg on a loop now it is the cliff bistro rather than cliff beach club! The Xmas decorations were a bit odd....reminiscent of scaffolding ...think they were supposed to be candy canes... Service was good, better than the previous incarnations, food was tasty, there were some specials and some cliff classics. Overall a very nice evening.More

I wasn’t sure whether to add this review to “The Cliff” or “The Cliff Beach Club” as neither of these exist anymore and it is now only The Cliff Bistro. As the Cliff Bistro is in the same location in the beach club, I decided...to add the review here. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the changes, and the simplified menu etc. however I was really impressed. We arrived early for drinks and sat at the upstairs bar. We waited quite a long time to be seated – about half an hour past our reservation time – which I wasn’t too bothered about but my Husband was getting a bit agitated (must have been hangry!). We had a nice waterside table but not the best. There are better ones that I would request if I booked in with enough time next time. My Husband and I both ordered the same food; moo-shu pancakes for starters and fillet steak for main. The starter was nice but the main was excellent. The steak was beautifully cooked and came with a gorgeous mushroom sauce. It also came with truffle mash. Now neither my Husband and I usually like mash but this was so nice! Maybe I’m a mash convert. My Husband absolutely detests mushrooms and they were happy to accommodate him and make a peppercorn sauce to go with his steak even though it wasn’t on the menu. For dessert I ordered the Rum Baba and my Husband had the mille-feuille. A Rum Baba is one of my all-time favourite desserts and this didn’t disappoint – so good! It came with a nutmeg icecream which I thought sounded a bit weird but it was excellent - tasted like an egg custard tart. My Husband also really enjoyed his dessert. The prices are a lot lower than The Cliff, although to be honest I thought the food was pretty much the same quality. Win win! One question I have – I don’t understand why they have reopened in the Beach Club part of the restaurant rather than the actual “The Cliff” part. This part still exists (we could see into it from our table and its just there, sitting empty). I’m sure there are reasons however you’ve lost some of the “wow” factor that you used to get when walking into The Cliff. Anyway next time we come to Barbados we’ll definitely return. I would like to come on a Sunday day as I’ve heard it’s quite a party atmosphere.More

Went here for a quick lunch Christmas Eve with friends. The atmosphere was nice. The setting is not typical Barbados. The strange Christmas decorations threw off an otherwise excellent decor. The service was very friendly. The cocktails were excellent and the food was very tasty....My only complaint was that the portion of fish was very small. It was a nice place to go for lunch.More

Having visited The Cliff and The Cliff Beach Club for the last 25 plus years I was utterly horrified with the experience we had last night. They have closed The Cliff and in the process treated their staff terribly and transferred it into the Beach...Club. The chef hasn’t even mixed up the menu and has brought Cliff classics across to the Beach club, taken away their original menu and the children’s menu but even worse are now refusing to cater for my gluten free child. Reservations you should be ashamed... we emailed ahead and on our booking (made in the summer) highlighted there are two children on the reservation and one requiring a gluten free diet due to having coeliac’s disease. We have eaten with you for many years and he has always had gluten free bread, a burger, fries and ice cream. At no point did anyone contact us or highlight that we may be faced with an issue upon arrival. What sort of establishment do you call yourselves when you’re unable to cater for a child’s dietary requirements and the manager has to come to our table, after speaking to the chef, confirming that there is absolutely nothing they can give him. We have eaten at Tides, Lonestar, Fish Pot, Nishi, Zaccios the list goes on where they have all been more than accommodating. You left us no other option but to leave... how can you not do some grilled chicken and potatoes? Honestly what a complete shambles. I will never return to any of your rebranded restaurants! You treat your staff and your customers terribly.More

After going to the next door restaurant The Cliff many times and appears to be closed currently we decided to try the Cliff beach club. The best part of this venue is the atmosphere overlooking the sea and watching the large fish feeding. The food...we extremely average, tasteless and our service. I felt there are far better less expensive places to eat.More

We were so looking forward to our Sunday lunch visit to The Cliff Beach Club. As with most of the our restaurants on the island they invite you to join them for an aperitif before your dinner reservation. We arrived a good half an hour...before our reservation, we were greeted at the front desk, temperature and contact details taken and shown to a bar table by a not very talkative lady who sat us down and left us with two cocktail menus. We admired the view and waited and waited, during the first ten minutes we noticed a lot of staff running around and it all seem a little bit disjointed. Lots of staff came by us, coming and going, it appeared we had disappeared. If you are going to invite people to arrive early, then get them a drink! Its not hard! We noticed other staff on the lower levels talking amongst themselves and their did not appear to be any leadership. We waited another five minutes, talking amongst ourselves, getting a little bit more hot under the collar. After another five minutes and sitting there for a full twenty minutes, we'd had enough. We flagged down the lady who had showed us to the table, to explain the problem, no apology, she just asked us what she could get us. We left. As we left we they continued to argue amongst themselves outside the lobby area. I also overheard the young lady who had seated us tell her boss who appeared to be older than her and more senior that we had only been there ten minutes. This was not true. She clearly lied to cover herself. Luckily, we got a table at Lonestar, had some bottled water within two minutes of sitting down and a bottle of wine within 5 minutes. Sunday lunch was superb. I am giving two as the rating as the lovely men who park your car were very efficient and friendly. I completely agree with the previous review.More
