Delicious authentic local food with a local vibe. The food is served on order cafeteria style. The flying fish was good, and the macaroni pie was the best we had on the island. My wife enjoyed fried chicken that was very well seasoned and tasty. You should also get the lentils and rice. It was superb. Make sure you come hungry because you will get a big helping for a great price. The drinks were cold and what is found everywhere on the island. The locals and staff were friendly, helpful, and made it a relaxing environment. The owner is onsight and makes sure everything is good. On top of the great food, you cannot beat the view. I would recommend making the trip. A definite do again for authentic food and a local feel.

On a trip through Barbados we asked to have a lunch at a local place and thus found ourselves at Fisherman’s Pub. Typical Bajan food was being served along with a friendly welcome and atmosphere. Once food was sorted we sat outside on old tables and chairs. The pub is old and weathered but that just added more to the character. The food was great and filling, so all in all a great place to visit for a true local experience. We even met the 70 plus year old owner Clement.

There is a great selection of 'local' food at a reasonable price, it is pre cooked and kept on a hot plate. You tell the staff what you want and they pile it on your plate - you get to the end of the hot plate and pay for what you have. We drove out of Bridgetown on someones recommendation and were not disappointed. We went during a quiet after noon off season so virtually had the place to ourself.

We had been past during the day when music had been blasting out and it didn't look that appealing, but peeked inside and were very taken by the crazy decor and general atmosphere. Returned for a meal and it happened to be karaoke night, fantastic! Simple set up where you point at what you fancy, gets plated and you pay and collect from the bar. The cheapest meal we had all holiday but decent quality, no question. Great for something a bit different, recommended.

My friend was visiting Barbados for the first time since her husband died in 2015. I knew that they always made a point of having lunch at The Fisherman’s Pub, so I suggested that we go there. The food was barely edible, the place was extremely hot and it was hard to find a free table that was not in direct sunlight.

Arguably the most lively and thriving bar in town, this sea front pub offers the most tasty and authentic local dishes at a very good price. The locals queue for their take-aways every day so it's no wonder this is a great review. We dropped in after a day lounging by the most idyllic beach (just ten minutes walk away). The queue for food was busy but there was plenty of space inside. They have a hot counter where they have around ten dishes of pre-prepared food and you just tell the staff you'll have a bit of this and a bit of that and you'll get a plate-full of whatever takes your fancy. We ordered two full plates of food and two beers and for that, we paid around ÂŁ16. And, the food was delicious! The staff are helpful and quite friendly. Make no mistake, eating out (even a basic lunch) is expensive in Barbados, but to have this amount and quality of food for that price was brilliant! We went back again before we left and had we been staying in Speightstown, we would have gone there every day for sure. It's clean, it's friendly and the view isn't at all bad either. Well worth a visit.

A very nice pub, inside and outside with the sea view, food was served like a carvery, and there were lots of Barbadian food choice, all very good and at affordable price. It was the best lunch in all the holiday. I was a pity that the town was 40 min by bus from our place

We were there for lunch on a quiet August Wednesday. No crowd, no wait, just good food and excellent prices. We got what we wanted, which was authentic Bajan food in a friendly, informal, beachfront environment. The bonus was meeting Clement, the owner. His family has owned this establishment for generations, and Clement is an encyclopedia of colorful information about Speightstown, where Fisherman's Pub is located. I will go back there, perhaps in the late afternoon or early evening, to see what the sunset is like at this west coast location. Keep doing well, Fisherman's Pub!

This is one of the reason I holiday in Barbados. There is variety and quaint establishments like these makes the island unique. The owner is a Trinidadian who has been a part of the area for a long time. He can be spotted in the pub easily as his outfit can best be described as colourful. The food is buffet based and served by a member of staff who can help you with your choice. On the day I visited I enjoyed rice and peas. Macaroni, flying fish and chicken. The food was good and the fact that the price was displayed helped with my selection. There is no table service. Tables are outside but can be in the sun. The place is filled with memorabilia of the neighbourhood. This is a pub and should be regarded as so. My only complaint is that the food is not hot enough. It is served too cool. The price of the food is reasonable and I did not have to book. A great location looking out to sea.

This is practically an institution in the heart of historic Speightstown. It has been around for over 50 years. The owner Clement, a gentleman in his 70's dressed quite dapper was right there mingling with his lunch guests when we arrived. This is not a fancy place as one might expect. It may even be called a hole in the wall. But you are going there for the fantastic local food, strong drinks and great atmosphere not for the restaurant's good looks. So several trays of food are set up behind plexiglass as you enter the place. The names of the dishes on offer are written in marker on the plexiglass. You join the line to the food and when it is your turn you tell the server what you want. It is all good scrumptious freshly prepared mouth watering local food. I had breadfruit in gravy, coo coo, macaroni pie, fried plantain and succulent local lamb chops. And the servers really pile the food on the plate. Generous portions. My drink of choice was rum and coke. We found seating outside on the patio facing the sea and enjoyed one of our best meals on the island. It was soooo good!! The atmosphere was great. We had a wonderful time and will repeat the experience for sure.

Sounded popular from reviews. A good range of hot buffet choices, including marlin and chicken, and a cold beer, were just what we wanted. Situated right by the beach with pleasant sea breezes, so a good place for lunch. Reasonably priced. Credit cards are accepted.

Having finished a tour of Speightstown we decided to drop in here for lunch. The food had been freshly cooked and we were able to select what we wanted from the display and buy a couple of drinks. The tables were hygienically clean and there was a really friendly guy playing music and kettle drums which lent itself to the atmosphere. The serving ladies weren't particularly approachable which didn't endear us to the place or a repeat visit. However the food was lovely and definitely good value

Strolled into this restaurant expecting to be allocated a table. It doesn’t work like that. It’s school dinner style. You request what you want, from the huge selection, immediately on entering and then it is taken to the cash register and left there until paid for. Not great when there’s a back up of people waiting as the food is cold by the time you find a table and sit down. Its not covered either so not that hygienic. The young woman who slopped it on our plate was miserable as sin and did not even explain how it all worked. This is a popular restaurant but can’t see why. The food tasted good but service is awful and the concept is not my thing.

We've been here three times this week as we loved it so much, you choose your food from the front, kind of buffet style but the food is soooo good, then sit down with a cold banks. I've had chicken, fish, macaroni pie, potatoes, highly recommended!!! we took some home for dinner twice aswell. The location of this place is perfect, right on the beach over looking the sea, you couldn't ask for a better holiday experience! Definitely try this place if you want good Bajan food, superb views and fantastic Bajan hospitality (the staff have been amazing each time), it's also very reasonably priced

Outstandingly good, genuine, unfussy and delicious local food. Don’t be fooled by the dated, rustic surroundings, the food is proper feel good food, very generous portions and very, very keenly priced. We love the likes of sea shed, lone star, the tides etc but if you want to sample the real deal you have to go to this place. The mark of a place is if you see the local people in there and this place does that! Just keep an open mind, it looks like a school canteen, but put all that snobbery to one side if you want good food…….we love it!
