My husband and I stopped in for a late night drink at the end of a long day. Despite a respectable crowd, service was prompt and the drinks were delicious. Adam was our bartender and he couldn’t have been more personable, attentive, or skilled at...his craft. Such a lovely time at a beautiful venue. We’ll be back!More

Stacey was absolutely fantastic. Very attentive, prompt, friendly. She made our night out extra special. What a wonderful experience. A big shout out to Ana for the tasty caipirinhas. We had charred octopus and it was phenomenal! Thank you. So amazing !

Dinner at 1609 was great! Had a great time a d service by Aldrin. He was very attentive and friendly! The food was tasty! While we had to wait a while for entrée Aldrin kept us posted and the atmosphere of the restaurant was distracting...enough. All the staff were great! Certain things could make it better, but the service was definitely top notch.More

We went taco Tuesday enjoyed the view my server Richard is the best. Really enjoyed the service but the real star was Anne-Marie the hostess she had us dying of laughter, her personality is not to be matched. Definitely returning!

Just like everywhere on Bermuda it was ok food, super overpriced, under seasoned, and they charge for still water. It wasn’t until the end of the meal that they offered us icewater, but apparently non-iced water is $10 a glass. The chicken Pibil, The waiter...said it was white meat, it was definitely boneless skinless chicken thighs. The octopus ceviche did not have any lime juice on it, I had to add almost a half a teaspoon of salt to make it taste reasonable. For the amount of money they charge I feel like some attention to detail as needed. Even the patatas bravas were crunchy(undercooked). I was really disappointed.More

The location of 1609 is amazing. It’s right on water located in the Hamilton Princess Beach Club Hotel which is amazing. If they had a beach would we have stayed here. The restaurant is located right on the marina and perfect for watching the sunset....The only issue with this restaurant is that after a group of 12 adults they have you do a prixe fix menu. However, they were very accommodating and service was good. I think we basically tried every appetizer and the best one was the Choripan and the best entree was the grilled octopus.More

The location overlooking the harbour is stunning and we unexpectedly had a prime view of a speed boat race which was thrilling. The whole team was very welcoming, especially our server Vanitha and the food is definitely worth the trip. So much so that we...returned the following day, to be welcomed back to the same excellence in everything.More

First the positives---This is a beautiful restaurant that sits above the harbor. Views are out of this world. The food----when it came---was also okay----Perhaps it was simply an off night, but our experience was one of the most comical, keystone cops level bad dinners I've...had in a while. When we sat down, we were greeted by a friendly waitress who took our drink orders----Twenty minutes later---the drinks had not yet come and we had not seen our waitress----She returned with apologies (no big deal) but no drinks and took our order. Ten minutes later, our drinks arrived but only after we the manager came by to ask how our dinner was----We told him, we had just ordered but that our drinks were going on nearly 30 minutes-----He went to the bar and our drinks arrived a few minutes thereafter----So far so good-----After nearly 3o more minutes, our dinner entries finally arrived-----but only half of them. We asked the waitress and then the manger where they were and we were told that the 3 taco dinners were backed up (it was taco Tuesdy afterall)----a few minutes---they requested. We waited....and then waited.....and then waited.....after 10 minutes, those that had received their meals had to started to eat as our food was getting cold. Twenty minutes later, they were done with their meals and our tacos had still not arrived?!?---Througout this time, no one came back to explain what was happening or why half our meals had been offered to us (all more complicated then the taco meals) -No one---including the manager, returned to explain why it required nearly an hour to prepare tacos. Looking around the restaurant, one could envision a brief delay if they were busy but they were at about 3/4 capacity. After we finally finished all our meals, the manager came back offering a half hearted appology for the delay but certainly no free drinks and/or free desert to compensate----Our waitress never came back--did she quit midservice? I wonder....-----No one ever came to bus our empty plates. After about 15 minutes---with no further service, my 80 year old father decided to bus our own plates---taking them himself to the kitchen much to the bewilderment of the staff. The manager finally came back clearly embarrassed. After much deliberation with the staff, he graciously offered $10.00 off of one of our 3 taco entries. Quite frankly, it would have been better if he had smuggly told us to pay and get out. This level of service might be acceptable at the local TGI Fridays-----but not at the 3rd highest rated dinner place on the island--the flagship restaurant at a 5 star hotel that charges 1000 a night for accomodations and offers a dinner for 6 for $500+ US. Our experience was made even more comical by the experiences we had at equivilent restauarants throughout the week where we received excellent service. Perhaps it was a bad day---but this experience reached a level of sheer audacity that it might as well have been a scene from Monty Python or Fawlty Towers.More

Absolutely loved our experience at the 1609 Restaurant! After indulging in some creative cocktails at the bar (photos attached) and engaging with our fun, knowledgeable, witty and attentive bar tender, Adam, we decided to cancel our dinner reservation elsewhere and stayed right at the bar...& enjoyed the Fried Shrimp app & Tuna/Avocado Tostada along with Quesabirria, Shrimp Quesadilla and Calabacitas Tacos which filled us up! Highly recommend for beautiful atmosphere/view, fun food & drinks!More

We started our visit to the Hamilton Princess by touring the lobby and seeing the beautiful artwork done by Andy Warhol, Pablo Picssso and Carlos Santana. We then had a glorious dinner at 1609. This was our first night in Bermuda and we wanted to...have a special dinner. The view from the restaurant was not to be equaled. Simply spectacular! You feel as if you are in an overwater bungalow. Our server Blythton, was excellent! We had guacamole with roasted watermelon which was amazing. The ribs were succulent, and the shrimp in tequila sauce were enormous and delicious. . We capped off dinner with a coconut tres leches cake that we all shared. The restaurant celebrated our anniversary by bringing us chocolate and strawberries. Truly a magical evening!More

We had a great time and everything about 1609 was five star. We just had a light dinner - I had the choripan (A first for me) and the ceviche of the day (wahoo) with plantain chips. My husband had the blistered shishitos and the...golden fried shrimp. I boxed up all the leftovers because it was all so good! Stacy was our server and she was fun and there when we needed her. The manager served us our wine and encouraged us to let him know if we were unhappy - we were not! The setting is right on the sparkling Hamilton Harbor water and a beautiful marina. The breeze was perfect! Will definitely come again and tell friends.!More

We stayed at the Hamilton Princess for 4 nights before we made it to 1609. Sadly, we wasted so much time; this was absolutely the best meal we had in Hamilton. The skirt steak flatbread (med rare) and quesabirria taco were both absolutely phenomenal -...every bite was filled with wonder and regret. How was this so good, and why did it take us so long to go to the restaurant 500 feet from our room? The staff is great (shout out to Nikki and Detre), and the view is spectacular. Despite the busy crowds at sunset, the two members of the staff above took time to make us feel welcome at the bar. If you’re in Hamilton, this is a must-visit. P.S. my wife is from San Antonio. It takes a lot for a taco to impress her. Well done!More

The best part of this restaurant is the ambience and location. The food was good but not excellent. I had the fish tacos. This restaurant is also very difficult for those with dietary restrictions -- my dining companion had a hard time finding something to...eat. The staff were excellent and very accommodating and were able to come up with an option. I would come back for the location but not for the food.More
