I've given Huckleberry 5-star reviews before, but a few things were different this time. The service was still exceptional though. In the past, even this early in the year, we've been seated in the garden, which was not set up for dining this time, and I chose the verandah. After lunch, I did peek into the interior of the restaurant and saw a few very charming rooms. The verandah is nice too, but all tables are not created equal. We had a nice one with a view near the railing, but the person who seated us should have realized that the people seated next to us would spoil our experience. This was due to a very loud talker whose shouting was directed at my ear. Also, in the past, we had been offered a reasonably priced prix fixe menu for lunch, but that has apparently been discontinued. The high prices on the a la carte menu are justified by the effort and love obviously invested in the food. The food is fancy and spicy, which is not my cup of tea. My husband's duck breast was not cooked as he had requested, but that could have been due to a miscommunication with the waiter. Sandwiches are available for about $30 each. There was a large (quiet) group of businessmen seated near us, and other diners appeared to be having businessman's lunch. Lunching attire was not very formal.

If you are in Bermuda this is the place to eat. You have to go. There is no better restaurant on the Island and I mean that. This place is outrageous if you can sit on the front porch for dinner it is an incredible restaurant with great attentive staff.

I have had the pleasure of experiencing an exquisite and elegant selection by head chef Damien and his wonderful team. They served several delicious dishes with wine pairings that were pin point accurate. In all I must say that the food along with the staff had made the night an amazing experience. I’d recommend hopping on their next event list as soon as possible because me and mine will be first in line so they will sell out quickly

Went for the afernoon tea on Friday. When we received the afternoon tea set no one explained what were we eating and it was in the same room as people having lunch. It had no afternoon tea atmosphere at all and we were served just 1 small tea pot per person.

We went for New Years Brunch and had a table placed on the second floor, which meant having to go up and down the stairs every time you want something from the buffet. Unfortunately most of the hot food was cold already, especially the turkey and gravy, but also most sides so the price paid for the value received was too high. We also feel a 20% automatic gratuity vis ery high for the fact that the waiter only served drinks. Overall a bit disappointing.

The service was friendly but slow. The retauarant was not busy and had only two other table sitting at 730 on a Wednesday The steak Wagyiu was horrible ,small and tough riddled with fat and gristle;half of it was unedible. And very expensive so felt teh value was not good.
The first bottle of wine was off but kindly it was taken back abd replaced with a better version of same bottle.
You advertize Working Title would play until 1030 but they stopped at 915 so we did not get to see them' . also Apres ski closed I guess at same time as it was boarded up after dinner.
Other food was ok and starter salad was good. But the ceviche of grouper was horrible.Tough like leather and not enjoyable.
the waiter was nice but not sharp - leaving empty drinks glasses on the table for most of dinner ;they should be cleared when finished.
You should l have this feedback

We had afternoon tea to celebrate my 60th birthday. The experience was absolutely fantastic. We were in a small private room, a welcoming, warm atmosphere to make it even more special for the occasion. The food was delicious, and the service was splendid. They checked on us regularly to ensure all was well and our needs were met. Much to my surprise, they sang happy birthday and served me a piece of cake with "Happy Birthday" on it!

The food and service was good. But, when ordering from the surf and turf menu it felt like a lot to have to pay $14 for a side and then $5 fro the sauce. So an entree that was billed as $37 was actully $56.

Huckleberry is definitely one of my favourite restaurants. The food is consistently excellent !! I hosted colleagues from Canada and reserving Huckeberry was the first restaurant arranged for dinner. Thank you for you the great food and superb service.

Have had quite a few lunches which have all been pretty good. One previous dinner for 6 of us, which was also good, albeit crazy expensive. Went with just my wife for dinner this time. Firstly, when we booked (9 days in advance) there was no mention that we might be sat on the terrace. When we went, there was no option, which was OK, but it was a windy & fairly cool December evening. We were sat reasonably close to a heater, and my wife took one of the blankets that were offered. Nevertheless it was still pretty chilly.
The service was OK, but nothing special. After reviewing the wines by the glass, I ordered the Duckhorn Pinot Noir. I was told by our server that they didn't do that wine by the glass. When I pointed to the wine on the list, he backtracked, claiming it was called something else.
Food came and was very good. I ordered a second (5 oz) glass of wine, and it was underpoured, to say the least (see photo). It was probably 3oz. The cost of the wine was $38 per 5oz glass.....
When the bill came, I offered my credit card. Unlike most places these days where staff do not have contact with the card, they took it away, and returned with an old-fashioned slip to sign. Having already included 20% auto-gratuity (most places in Bermuda its either 15%, or 17%), on the credit card slip was a space for 'Tip'. (see photo). Not 'Additional Tip', as it is in most places in Bda. I'm pretty sure this is against regulations in Bda, if not downright illegal. Suffice to say I was very unimpressed. Esp. as the bill was already over $300, for 2 courses each; 3 glasses of wine between us; a bottle of water; and a cup of Chamomile tea. Oh, and bread (a 3-piece roll) which was $6, plus 20% grats....

Good Afternoon Mr. Wille,
Thank you for taking the time to share your recent dining experience with us. We truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve our services.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the seating arrangement during your visit. We typically ask anyone who books with us if they prefer indoor or outdoor seating but it seems that did not happen in this instance. I'm happy to hear though that our staff offered both a heater and blankets to keep you and your wife warm in this chilly 60F weather.
Regarding your note about the wine selection, we do our best to ensure our staff is kept informed of our offerings. We've recently hired a Bar Manager who will be conducting regular training with our staff which should help in this area. Our more expensive wines by the glass, such as the one you ordered, are also measured electronically to ensure proper amounts are given. We ensure that all of our prices are printed to avoid confusion, and if you are ever unsure of a price we encourage you to engage our friendly staff.
We do include a 20% service fee with all of our checks which is printed on all of our menus. I also believe that our prices are extremely competitive with other restaurants in our area, and the prices from other restaurants are taken into consideration when we price our items.
I'm excited to share that we are currently upgrading our billing system and will be using the payment terminals that you described in short order.
Thank you for patronizing our small family business, and enjoy the rest of the holidays.
Kind Regards,
Matt Kitson
Asst. General Manager

Our first night at Rosedon began with dinner at Huckleberry’s on the veranda. A beautiful breeze throughout our meal was so inviting. The cocktail and wine list are extensive, the menu is fresh and has many options. My lamb chops were divine! Our next 4 mornings were perfect with breakfast also on the veranda. We had a different option every morning-from the omelette, to the rhubarb waffle and the avocado toast-we were delighted each morning. Rosedon is a special place.

What an amazing tiny experience! The food was beautifully prepared from an innovative menu, utilizing local ingredients to a great extent. We thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the new and unusual tastes and combinations that the chef prepared. The service was impeccable. We requested gluten-free bread servers, and were delighted to find that the rolls with the seasoned butter spread were amazing. Fresh catch of the day was offered, and there was a choice between mahi-mahi and tuna. I chose the mahi-mahi and was very pleased. An excellent selection of bar drinks and wines was offered. We chose the dining venue on the veranda, and found the seating very comfortable and quiet.

We chose this restaurant for an anniversary dinner. It surpassed expectations in every respect. The atmosphere is wonderful, whether dining outdoors on the lawn or front porch, or in one of their charming rooms. Our meal started with a complimentary Amuse bouche of tuna tartare wrapped in a watermelon radish. Then we were given a wonderful brioche roll and homemade butter. There are unique salad options, which is what we opted for. My husband and I both ordered the Wagyu filet, which was tender and tasty. I literally just cut it with my fork a couple times
! Our server was wonderful. The menu is pricey, but in my opinion, the food was worth the high price.

This restaurant appears generally to have good reviews so it seems that my wife and I picked a bad evening to dine. The decor is Colonial as you might expect and the staff were friendly, pleasant and efficient. That is the positive side of our visit. My starter course arrived just warm enough to eat and on reflection I should have sent it back as it quickly became too cold to enjoy. We both ordered Lamb as a main course, cooked medium. It arrived garnished with a few luke warm cherry tomatoes and peppers and was badly over cooked to at least medium well if not more. The staff apologised and we were offered a complementary dessert but settled for coffee. Overall not a good experience for a poor two course meal and with one glass of wine each cost US $260+. Good luck to future diners but Huckleberry’s need to sharpen up their offer.
