Dinner at Harbourfront Restaurant

This hidden restaurant has a great view of Hamilton Harbor and very good food, and should’ve been great, but my wife and I had trouble getting a good seat on the porch, even though there was no one there yet at 6pm. We finally got a reasonable seat and ended up having a good meal, with fresh caught Amberjack, although we felt slightly uncomfortable as the waiters and waitresses seemed to stare at us. Perhaps we were taking someone’s reserved table? We finished in a little more than an hour, finally freeing up the table.

Thank you for your review . Unfortunately The porch is not open for dinner or lunch in the winter month . We might get occasionally great days in the winter and feels like we should be open but we also schedule staff to go on vacation during the slower winter season .

Second night in Bermuda and the waterfront table at The Harbourfront restaurant lived up to its name. We were seated by the GM, Florian, who ensured we had the best table in the place and an impeccable evening. I had the Lamb Milanese and my wife had the Lobster Aragosta - both of which were prepared perfectly and tasted amazing. Be sure to make a reservation at a time so you can enjoy the sunset as you dine...it made for a magical experience.

Among the "Dining Bermuda" group, there are better choices: Little Venice or L'Oriental, for example. But The Harbourfront does a very good job, It sports a well adorned dining room and outside seating, as well as a first rate staff. Service is excellent. I ate well prepared, tasty shrimp tempura with coconut curry sauce. The catch of the day was also delicious. A martini and coffee also made the grade. Dessert was mediocre: a small slice of dry chocolate cake with a dab of ice cream Prices are high, and the dining around coupon gives you less value here than at the aforementioned places. But it's worth a one time visit.

Don't Waste Your Money

Recommended by the waiter at Little Venice (excellent btw) we gave Harbourfront a try. We arrived by taxi just past 6:00pm and were told to follow the outside path down the stairs. As we approached the door, we were sure it was closed. It looked deserted and a bit rundown but the door was open. A host reassured us they were indeed open and we decided to first have a drink at the bar. The bar had four seats that appeared unaccustomed to customers. The place looked seriously dated except for the dining room which was better. Unfortunately the water view was obscured by the roof of a building between us and the harbor. The bartender Zane was the only bright spot during our visit. He was pleasant and conversational but the two martini's cost $56.00, good but not that good. We were seated at a table for two under cold air ducts that were overpowering. The wait staff was mostly Asian, unfortunately our server spoke rudimentary English. For example, when I ordered Wahoo fish for my main entree she asked if I wanted it Bonsai. I said Bonsai? Turned out she was actually saying Pan- Fried. My wife remarked my meal looked like hospital food. She was right and it was virtually unseasoned. Her shrimp were dry and the branzino tasteless. At no time did a staff member ask us if we were or did, enjoy our dinner. The bill was just under $200. Outrageous. Be advised Bermuda has changed, especially restaurants. Much higher prices and they are importing labor, both Asian and Filipino. The cost of living in Bermuda is high and owners of multiple restaurants need to go offshore to find lower cost labor.

Good day. I find your review to be behind the pale to be honest. while we welcome reviews on service and food ,you indulge in a lot of hearsay without any evidence of truth. I am also one of those people that came to Bermuda cause of the better financial and economic rewards in the hospitality business ,i came here 40 years ago from Northern Italy originally and England ,and i consider Bermuda my home and I am still in this business that even with the numerous challenges allows me to do what i love .I have an accent also and sometimes if i wear a mask it could be hard to understand ,i agree but i did not create and neither did my staff this situation we live in .And regarding my staff, independently of their place of origin ,color of their skin and race ,who are well rewarded for their long hours and dedications to their job, including me ,most of us .expats ,speaks more than 2/3 languages and have good educations, for you to make fun of some one accent is insulting and racist .No one is taking any jobs away from anyone and we follow very strict immigrations regulations. The cost of operations in Bermuda is high and so are the prices we charge that reflects the fact we import almost everything,Food and Beverage has dramatically increased the last two years and i am sure you are aware of it. No one is here cause of cheap labour and you slandering ,with your comments, our reputations is really behind the pale. Pierangelo Lanfranchi

Sunset Dinner

My son and I had a perfect table outside. We were seated just before sunset. Schools of fish were happy to eat the leftovers that servers would toss into the water. The servers allowed us to enjoy our dinner at a leisurely pace. The food was served hot. The fish was freshly caught. If you don't mind paying for the expensive view, this is a special treat on the Hamilton harbor.

Made a reservation here for the view and our preference for al fresco dining. It that respect it did not dissapoint. However the food and service were a mixed bag. Our servers got two orders wrong. Instead of blackend fish they served it fried. When we questioned them they did not offer to correct it but merely shrugged their shoulders and walked away. There was also a language issue with them. The fish and shrimp in my cioppino was totally overcooked. The shrimp was rubber and the fish was cardboard and I could not eat it. The tuna tartar was excellent and so was our sushi appetizer which salvaged our meal a little. When the manager came by and I confronted him, showed him the fish all he said was *Yea, shrimp and fish should be cooked last^. No offer of credit and I should have contested the bill but we just left without coffee or desert. At those prices expected better. Wont be going back.

We walked down the staircase after being dropped off by a taxi and the door was immediately opened for us. We were taken to a table that had a water view and given our menus. The menu was extensive so after reading it, we ordered. The bread and butter were delicious and the lobster salad appetizer was out of this world! It was pricy but delicious. I ordered the Indian curry chicken dish and was told the chef would would make it less spicy. When I tasted it it was amazed at what less spicy meant. It was delicious but my mouth and throat were on fire. When the wait staff realized that, they brought me a lemon sorbet and a lemon cello and that solved my problem. I appreciated that.

My wife and I were seated at a table on the water. Yuwalluk, our server, was very sweet and especially attentive to my wife's need for a gluten free meal as she is celiac. She arranged for gluten free rolls for us even though we did not ask and she and Florian, the general manager, explained the gluten free options on the menu. My wife decided on the veal piccata which was excellent. I ordered the fresh tuna which was one of the best I've had. As we were leaving Florian offered to call us a taxi and when none responded by phone he insisted on flagging a taxi for us on Front Street. All in all a great night for us

We went for a dinner with friend who was celebrating her birthday. The moment you enter, you will feel the warm welcome of the staffs. They are very attentive and particular. Our server Sam , View and Judy were very helpful and go beyond service. They are very creative and fabulous. The foods are delicious but the best part are the staffs who makes us all feel special. The manager named Froilan was very attentive and exquisite. We are delighted and impressed with the service . We highly recommend this place and give them more than 5 star rate. We will definitely comeback!!

We dropped by the Harbourfront for lunch at about 2:10 p.m. on Friday, December 29th. Lunch hours were advertised both online and on their building signage to to be from 11:45 until 2:30 p.m., but were told, upon entry, that they had decided to close early (at 2:00 p.m. that day) as it was “slow”! Despite there being diners actively doing what diners do, and our openly articulated disappointment, we decided not to press the point and ruin their “slow day”! Since that time, they seem to have have posted notice that their “Opening hours are subject to change.” Strongly recommend finding a more welcoming and inviting restaurant with set hours and customer-centered service.

In this particular instance, we had not received any walk-in clients for over an hour. Fantastic lunch venue

Have eaten here a few times and food is always first class. The seafood offerings are excellent particularly the sushi and the tempura shrimp. Very good salad and also dim sum. Based on location I feel this venue is best for lunch where you can sit outside and enjoy the views towards Hamilton as well as the huge fish devouring bread rolls.

My wife and I went for dinner from the Hamilton Princess Hotel. This was our last night in Bermuda and wanted a restaurant with a nice view and fine food. The view from our table inside was beautiful. Unfortunately the food was fair. I ordered the blackened Wahoo and my wife ordered the Izzy roll. The wahoo was not blackened and tasted very fishy and the Izzy roll did not have any lobster. Would recommend only for the view but the food was fair.

Great waterside location for a group outing!

We recently had a ladies lunch at The Harbourfront, the food was amazing and so beautifully presented and a great choice of dishes too, I had the tempura prawns and seafood linguine, others had the tuna tartare and other seafood dishes, the catch of the day was well cooked and seasoned with nice vegetables, again well presented. the deserts were stunning. the wine was well priced and all in all a fabulous lunch was had by all.

Wonderful food.. started with a basket of homemade raisin/walnut bread, had a Malaysian Curry shrimp tempura, then duck as my main… yum! For dessert, make sure you order a soufflé when you order your dinner (takes 30 mins to make)… so good! Sushi at next table looked awesome… will return for lunch. Service was excellent. Definitely going back to sit outside on the water on the next sunny day.

Has atmosphere as "on" the waterfront. Nice day so had 8 out of 10 tables seated. Pleasant enough atmosphere. Staff all foreign except the bartender which is fine. Service was good. Pretty sure my Father who is 93 ordered Lamb but got Veal but is hard to say as he hears very little... Main course Food Presentation was very good and looked impressive enough (shrimp were massive/Thai surely) but taste was seriously lacking. 'Catch of the day' was imported. Fish and Shrimp had 'No" flavour, seriously, tasted bland and like frozen for far too long. Strangely potatoes (baked) had no seasoning either. probably wont be back but maybe should have tried the sushi???
