We were able to make a reservation on short notice and had a great dinner. Not busy for a Saturday night but partly due to the fact that this was not tourist season and also due to the corona threat keeping folks away. Prices reasonable...— $35 for two courses — and choice varied. No fries or burgers! Quiet spot in a side alley passage. Nice change from the typical restaurant fare.More

We had a reservation and had picked a corner table in advance because it was a Friday night but the place was pretty empty when we arrived. The service was slow even though they were empty so that was disappointing. It took a long time...to get your food. We did the two course menu which was plenty of food. The cauliflower bites were very good but a bit too much breading. Lamb chops were well prepared and there were three large ones. The fish could have been hotterMore

Took awhile to find this place, but getting lost is half the fun! Stopped at a store to ask directions which took us to a completely different bistro, but eventually found it thanks to my husbands phone! Thanks to the photos on here I knew...when we were in the right alley way! Delicious food, reasonably priced - especially the Korean cauliflower! Loved the vegetarian shepherds pie and the salt and pepper shrimp! Delicious champagne cocktail.More

We found this little place on a side street off Front street on our first day in Hamilton. We were hungry, saw a couple things we liked on the menu, and went in. Only then did we realize that you had to choose either a...2 course lunch or a 3 course lunch, fixed prices. We ordered 2 course lunches and I must say the food was excellent. We got a bit of a shock when the bill came though, remember it was our first day in Bermuda, $90 for 2 lunches and a beer! But food wise, and service wise, it's a very nice place.More

Loved dining here in the past, so much so that I would say it was our favourite, but sad to say I will never return. My escargot in cream sauce seemed to be microwaved as some snails were hot and some were cold. Main course...pasta was served with the same sauce used in my appetizer. Average service and terrible food. We were the first couple for dinner and the next couple that arrived was seated right next to us so our intimate conversations came to a screeching halt. So much for a nice night out for a belated Valentine's celebration.More

You may have to seek this little place out as it’s tucked away off Front Street on Chancery Lane but it’s well worth the effort. Cozy, intimate atmosphere and great food. Highly recommended.

Firstly I would just like to state that I have enjoyed this restaurant in the past. I have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. It can be very noisy with only a few people but that seems to be common these days. The owners...do not seem to be aware of what sound deadening panels can do for ambiance. I have very rarely ever taken the time to complain about a restaurant. Anyway ten of us visited for my daughters birthday. She is in her late twenties. My wife asked the waiter what he thought of the salmon. He would not recommend this we were told. I didn't realise my daughters friends had ordered it until the main course arrived. I asked about the curry which was described as having pupadoms with it which was crossed out. They had none left according to the waiter. I suggested that as there was an Indian restaurant owned by the same people right next door they could go and get some. The waiter agreed I could go there and get some! Nothing was offered as an alternative. The appetizers were ok. My chicken kebab starter had two sticks with two tiny pieces of chicken smaller than a die or dice. The chicken was dried out. I let this pass. The main courses arrived. The curry looked as though it was a child's portion. It was very nice. The people who ordered the salmon got about two ounces of salmon. It was so ridiculously small the waitress took a photo of it to show the chef. Even she thought it was ridiculous. My son had the steak which was described as being accompanied by hand cut fries. The steak was very small. He has had steak here before and he was shocked at the size of the steak. The fries were symmetrical like McDonalds and undoubtedly frozen from a bag. Not hand cut by any stretch of the imagination. I work hard for my money and decided to bring these points to the waitress who was extremely pleasant. She agreed with everything I said and offered us a bottle of wine on the house. She then brought a second piece of salmon to all those who had ordered it. This piece was twice the size of the first piece! Why didn't they serve this size in the first place? By then everyone had finished their meal. Well they would have as it was so small! She offered me a second curry but again everyone had finished and the evening was spoiled. Spoiled by the restaurant and spoiled by the fact that my wife and daughter did not like me complaining! At the end of the night they charged us for 8 people instead of ten. It was still $750 and a truly forgettable experience. Incidentally the same waitress had served me at lunchtime at a different restaurant owned by the same company. Again she was excellent and so was the food. Probably twice the amount of food served at lunch than at dinner. I was very disappointed. I would not go back through the door of this place. I have been here humorous times. It would appear they are trying to cut costs I would not suggest you eat here under any circumstances. Giving people discounts does not fix a spoiled evening Especially if for a special occasion like your daughters birthday! Stay clear of this place.More

As a local this is my 'go to' Date night restaurant, here's why: Food is always excellent including wine choices Great value. Eating out in Bermuda can be expensive but this is more reasonable Quaint casual 'bistro' atmosphere I recommend this for all our guest...and friends.More

The food and drinks are very reasonable. I mean a bucket of corona for $25 that’s good for Bermuda especially in Hamilton 😊

Another hidden gem just off Front Street. Not known by many but the simple and well designed menu is made up of food from the mutual kitchen of the more upmarket and expensive Port O' Call, another great choice bye the way. Never been dispointed.

I just love this place! They serve fantastic food from a changing daily menu of 3 courses for under $40! Or don’t be greedy and stick to 2?!?! I chose gin and tonic cured salmon to start, the OH chose the blue cheese beignets, both...fabulous but the blue cheese edged to the top. For main I chose the delicious flank steak on a mountain of fries with mushrooms and a red wine jus. Perfectly cooked to my liking. The OH chose tuna steak with quinoa and a cauliflower purée, I can’t judge as sadly I’m not a tuna steak fan but he loved it. Couldn’t resist desserts, sorbet trio and the lovely apple crumble with vanilla ice cream. Accompanied with a great, smooth, very drinkable Pinot Noir. The team in Bistro J are lovely, it always feels like you’re coming to meet old friends. Go! But please save me a seat!!More

We were a party of 6 and ate at Bistro J during our vacation last week. It was easily our favorite meal of the trip. The restaurant is located down a small side street and is attached to their sister restaurant Port o Call. The...menu here changes every night and is a fixed price for an appetizer and entree. For the price you get a ton of food compared to the other restaurants we visited. The ambience is great and the service was as well - was not crowded or loud and you could really enjoy your meal. Our entire party liked everything they got. Definitely ask for the cheese cake from Port o Call (off menu), it’s literally amazing. Would definitely come back on our next visit.More

Came upon this restaurant on a side street/alley off of Front St. Menu changes daily. We had a beautifully done swordfish with fingerling potatoes on a fennel/red pepper sauce that was perfect. Soup, hummus and even the bread was also perfect. Price was so much...more reasonable than other restaurants in Hamilton. Reportedly the kitchen is shared with Port of Call which is busier and higher priced around the corner. Service was excellent!! Going back tomorrow night!More

This is a great place. Food is good, but portion sizes seem to be decreasing. For dessert I ordered a some sort of chocolate mouse cake and it was all of 1" by 2". We had a good laugh at that.
