We are from the Boston area so we know seafood. Aqua Grill presents a variety of local seafood dishes, as well as some from more "exotic" locales like New England :-). We had the 3 course holiday special which included Balashi, a very nice fish cake, a huge tasty wahoo steak and a coconut flan dessert for the very reasonable price of $35. We also had the Chilean Sea Bass (pictured), which is one of their specialities. Quite good. While the ambience is not the same as some other places and the outdoor patio overlooks a busy street, the servers were very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.

Every year I visit Aruba and my first dinner is at the Aqua Grill. For the 6th year in a row I've had the Chilean sea bass which is superb. Also for the 6th year in a row, Denise was my server. She's so friendly and professional and a welcoming face.
I told her that I had a concern about eating spicey food and she had the kitchen put the spicey condiment in a little cup. My friend wanted the sea scallops and she carefully and accurately described them as lightly breaded with no oil taste at all. My friend said that the scallops were divine--lightly breaded. He coconut flan was wonderful.Denise was helped my Fritz who was terrific.

Living in the Boston area means we can get fresh, grilled fish any time we want. Please take this into account when reading this review. Basically, my husband and I had grilled fish and while the fish was fresh and nicely presented , it was nothing we can't get at home. This is a very good restaurant -- don't get me wrong. It's just that for us, it was nothing special and we were looking for special. The atmosphere was nice and the service was excellent.

We have been coming to Aruba for 20+ years and Aqua grill has always been one of my favorites . We have never been on the island for Valentine’s Day so we thought it would be a perfect spot for a family Valentine’s Day dinner . We had 8 pm reservations and we (4) were seated around 820 . After already waiting to be seated we waiting another 30 minutes for someone to just dump the rolls on out table so now we mention that nobody has come to our table and asked us for drinks or to take our order . Probably around 9 somebody comes to take our order . We decline drinks because we were starving and hadn’t eaten since very earlier on hoping it would expedite the food arriving . We ask for some more bread and didn’t even get that . Probably around 930 my ceaser salad comes with my daughters kids meal which was linguini and shrimp and they don’t even offer cheese so now we have to wait for the cheese and we ask again for the bread and to remind them that my husbands fried calamari hasn’t shown up . Now it’s going on 945 and we still don’t have the fried calamari . Now we start seeing tables of 8 and 6 that came in being told they cannot serve them because they ran out of food . People were leaving and very angry . I’ve never seen anything like this . My kids are dying to leave . They tell us out food will be coming out and so we waited . It was after 10 when my crab legs and my husbands lamb chops came out . I don’t think the food was as good as it normally was and the whole experience was not enjoyable . We should of just left as well .the only thing my daughter was excited for was this heart shaped red velvet cake that came if you ordered the valentine menu which my husband did to get her the cake . As we are eating our entree we asked for the dessert to go so we can get the kids back . They kept offering a drink on the house but we didn’t want a drink . I was thinking they would remove something off the bill . Like the fried calamari that we had to remind them like 3 times about but nothing was removed off our bill. Not even an extra dessert in our bag . In fact they must have ran out of the heart red velvety cake and didn’t even mention it to us . My daughter was looking forward to it when we got home and they just shoved a piece of cheesecake which she doesn’t eat in our bag . A place this expensive just has to do better . We won’t be going back and our special Valentine’s dinner was a complete disaster .

What a phenomenal night. We have been several times over the past four years. We absolutely love Joyce. She provides us believable professional and phenomenal service. Crab legs were out of this world and we also enjoyed the salmon feature that is served on a cedar plank with the baby bok choy and soba noodles thank you Joyce we love you..

Gonzalo, an excellent waiter, served up delicious wellfleet and checkbooktook oysters followed by a nice portion of king crab legs. The Apple crisp at the end of the feast was also excellent. The tagliatelle w seafood tasting was delicious too. Our second time here - next trip will return again...

My wife and I dined at Aqua Grill to use vouchers received from Marriott. We had been here years ago and decided to try again. She selected the red snapper and I selected the grouper. My wife is gluten free and dairy free. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and assisted with the changes to accommodate her dietary needs. As another reviewer noted, the bread is store bought and heated in the oven. The side salad my wife ordered was huge. She ate half and it looked very fresh and crisp. We waited forever for our meals to arrive despite there only being perhaps 6 tables with guests. My wife said her fish was good but the rice tasted like Minute Rice. My fish was either the largest, thickest filet of grouper I’ve received in 13 years of coming to Aruba or Mahi. The mashed potatoes were the size of thimble and the vegetables were just ok. The fish was cooked correctly and the Cajun spice was a nice complement, not overpowering. The mango sauce was probably from a jar. I ordered a side of plantains. It was a large portion and very good.
The bill included the 15% service charge (pays entire staff) and we included another $10 for our waiter. IMHO the meal just ok but was not worth the $107. There’s better, cheaper fish to be found elsewhere.

We came to Aqua Grill two nights in a row because it was that good! We ate outside both nights and Manuel was our waiter both nights. After the first night we requested him! The hostess was also great, it was busy the first night so she came and took our drink order so we didn’t have to wait. The lobster salad appetizer is out of this world good! After we ate it, my husband and I agreed we could have ordered three more for dinner 😉. We also had the tuna seasonal appetizer and it was delicious. I had the king crab the first night and it was excellent as always. They cut it down the center for you to make it easier to open and eat. My husband had the scallops with a side of shrimp with the mango salsa. Also delicious! The next night I had the sea bass which was also good but I did prefer the crab in all honesty! But it was still delicious, I cleared my plate!! Our kids had their buttered pasta which to be honest was out of this world because they use a garlic butter. Even though you are outside here near the road you don’t feel like you are with the lush scenery. It’s a must eat restaurant! Go and ask for Manuel!

I had the best broiled stuffed lobster with lump crab meat ($54) and delicious rice and veggies. Best lobster definitely on the island, maybe in my life. And I’m a big lobster eater. My fiancé had the sirloin ($39) and grilled shrimp bruchette for an extra ($17). 4 delicious jumbo shrimp came they were incredible. I had one glass of wine and fiancé just had club soda. Also we had two coffees, coconut flan and the very best key lime pie of our lives. Total was $174 before tip, not bad but I’m also a north Jersey/nyc gal so these prices weren’t shocking to me for the quality. Perhaps other folks from the southern states would find this ridiculous expensive though. The oysters were offensively expensive so I didn’t order any though. Everything was very delicious 😋 I mean incredible…amazing… best seafood ever and our server Yuniel was excellent.

Second night in Aruba and we picked a winner for dinner. We ordered ceviche peruano and grilled oysters to start, both of which were very tasty. My one complaint would be that the 4 oysters were a bit pricey at $16 and not very filled. For dinner she got a whole snapper which our server, Imelda helped make happen. It was flavorful but a bit too heavily breaded for her liking. I got the Cioppino which was a nice assortment of seafood in broth. She enjoyed her Aruba martini and I thought my Caribbean coffee was delicious. Desert was cheesecake, her fave, for her birthday. Overall, really good service and tasty food.

This restaurant is excellent. We always enjoy our meals. We generally go with a large group of friends and the kitchen and staff are never daunted by the numbers! The food comes out on a timely basis and no-one every has to wait for their food. Excellent !

I do not understand all glowing reviews for this restaurant. While the service was good, this was one of the worst meals we had while in Aruba when it came to the quality of the food. We should have known something was up with the bread they serve - they were like cheap dinner rolls you buy at Walmart and ones that I would be embarrassed to serve to any of my own house guests. The fish we had was okay but the included sides really put a damper on the main course. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant mashed potatoes and the veggie medley seemed to be straight from the microwave (just like the fries that came with my son's kids meal). We skipped dessert b/c we figured it would most likely come from a box and not be freshly made. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Amazing dinner. First I need to comment on the ambiance. It is a stunning contemporary yet warm
environment. Service was exceptional. Margaret, our server, was very attentive, explained the menu, etc in a very friendly yet professional manner. Now on to the Menu. The chilled oysters were some of the best I have had. My husband’s Caribbean Chowder was very flavorful. The sea bass was outstanding, and the seafood tagliatelle was out of this world. This is at the top of the many amazing restaurants in Aruba. Go, You will not be disappointed.

We were excited to dine at one of Aruba’s famed seafood restaurant, but that excitement quickly turned into disappointment when we were ordering our dinner. As we were ordering, the waitress informed us that they were out of 4 of the fish entrees we were interested in. This would have been something to tell us BEFORE giving us time to look over the menu. Out of Red Snapper, Grouper, Swordfish, and the Special Kingfish?!? Totally unacceptable and quite “fishy” in my opinion for a Seafood place. Save yourself the time and disappointment and ask you wait staff if there are any items they are out of in the kitchen. Otherwise, McDonalds next door has a tasty filet o fish.

Listed as one of the top restaurants in Aruba, we were disappointed with the service (very slow) and the food. For the prices they charge, the fish was average - nothing special. The fried fisherman plate was bland and had no taste. The grouper was well cooked. Had to wait more than 45 min for our food - in a restaurant that was less than half full. It took them 20 min to get us a bottle of wine. Would not recommend - there are so many better options.
