Couldn’t believe how inexpensive my meal was. $43 for 2 pastas, a side of meatballs, and a glass of wine inclusive of tip. Food was very good. Came here last time I visited Aruba. Definitely better than the really touristy Italian places on the island...like Gianni’s and Azzuro (Azzuro was inedible). Will definitely keep returning when on the island.More
We went twice. Lovely atmosphere. We ate inside once, tables were generously spaced apart, and once outside in the garden area. (put on bug spray). Special pricing was in effect...USD prices on menu were being charged in AWG florins! Great value!
Caesar salad was adequate...but not made with a creamy dressing as is my preference. Linguine with seafood in olive oil was good with a nice assortment of seafood. Linguine with truffle and mushrooms was creamy and full of flavour. Penne vodka with shrimp was good. Portion sizes were reasonable. Calamari fritti was hot, fresh with a thin marinara sauce for dipping. All in all, good solid Italian comfort food.More
Dispite some of the bad reviews we went to this restaurant. Recommend making a reservation we could not get in our first attempt bc we did not have 1. Our waitress was amazing answered all our questions and was very attentive. Websatred with the calendar...and the sauce is very good and I'm a sauce snob being an Italian from ny. As my meal I had the penne with seafood. It was great. Everyone enjoyed their food. We had pana cota and canoloi for dessert. Both were great and prices are amazing...More
11/2/20 dinner- we went at 6pm to avoid other diners. No one was at the desk after 5 minutes a person came and we elected to eat outside. A waiter came with menus and asked if we wanted to order drinks, we elected just water....He never asked if we had any questions regarding the menu. We had calamari for an appetizer which were just ok but the marinara sauce was good. My husband ordered Chicken Parmagean with a side of penne. I ordered Chicken lemone.and a side of broccoli. Chicken Parm had a burnt taste and the marina sauce had a sharp taste. We had to ask for parmagean cheese. I had 2 small pieces of chicken with moderate amount of sauce. The chicken was not too tender. The broccoli was fine. Once our meals were delivered, we never saw a wait person again. No one came to ask if everything was ok or if there was anything else they could get for us. We asked for the check which was delivered and after it was set there was no thank you. Very, very, very disappointing since this restaurant was highly recommended. We would never go there again.More
We visited Hostaria on Saturday 31 October. Lots of Aruban locals dining there. The restaurant appeared to be very short on staff. Service was slow all around however the staff was pleasant. Food was hit or miss. Enjoyed the calamari and carpaccio appetizers. Pizza crust...was a bit undercooked but tasty. Spaghetti side was inedible. Good values on wine at the current prices. Very short wine list. There is better Italian available on Aruba however the prices here make it budget friendly compared to most alternatives. Will likely return for another try at some point. Not one of our favorites.More
Love this place. I come from NY, live in Boston and my wife is all Italian and a terrific cook...so I know good Italian food. Hostaria is such a place. First the place is clean enough to eat off the floor, everyone's temperature is taken...upon entering and all wear masks until you are seated at your table. They have reduced prices 40-50% so the locals can afford a good meal. Please help the island and patronize this wonderful restaurant.More
Enjoyed the service but had higher expectations coming from the north east outside of Boston. The staff was very attentive but the food is equivalent to an Olive Garden. Yes the photos
Look presentable online which captured our attention, but the gnocchi was mushy and over...cooked and sauce was blan to say the least. If your a foodie and enjoy authentic Italian cuisine - Aruba doesn’t have the delicacies we have in the states. Keep your expectations sub par.More
We ended up here after the hotel concierge told
us it was her favorite food on the island. It did not disappoint. For dinner we had delicious chicken Parmesan and gnocchi and returned another day for lunch. Tiramisu was one of my favorites. It was...very inexpensive (especially compared to other meals we had) but very delicious. You cannot go wrong for the price. We will definitely return.More
My husband and I went to celebrate his birthday. We sat in the garden it was so nice. Food was excellent as well as the service. My husband thought his chicken parm was as good as what he has had in the Boston’s North End....If you want excellent Italian food it is were you should go!More
