Hostaria da' Vittorio stands out for its villa-like interior and the cozy, family-like ambience it offers, creating a lovely dining atmosphere that many guests appreciate. While the authentic Italian cuisine is typically well-received for its deliciousness, some patrons have encountered inconsistencies in food quality and service. Opinions on the service are divided, with accolades for the staff's accommodating nature contrasting reports of disorganization. The restaurant's value is a point of contention, as praise for the food and setting is sometimes tempered by service issues and wait times.

Swung by tonight to try the pizza. Last time we were there, the food looked good and we saw the brick oven for the pizza. My wife liked her 4 cheese pizza and I enjoyed my veggie pizza. Luckily for me, standing near our server was one of the other servers who heard me order the veggie pizza. He told me that it doesn't come with cheese, and asked if I wanted cheese on the pizza, which of course, I did. Both pizzas were individual size 10" pizzas and were tasty. They did charge for the cheese (which I expected) and I noticed on the menu that they charge for grated parm. Really???? In an Italian restaurant they charge for grated parm? Anyway, no biggie since the food was good. The service, as in the past, not so much. First, they auctioned off the food which I would not expect in a fine dining restaurant. Our server checked back once during our meal; right after they brought the pizzas and we were separating the slices. My wife wanted a cannoli, which was also good. Prices are par for the course for a fine dining restaurant ($20 for a 10" pizza) but the service was nowhere near what it should be. They do add a 15% service charge, and as in the past, didn't add to it because they didn't deserve it; unlike one of our favorite restaurants where they do add a service charge and we do add to it. So go for the food and sitting in a nice outdoor courtyard and not the service and unlike one of the other reviews, we didn't see the staff "working their tails off".

This restaurant was a concierge recommendation. We were not at all impressed. They noted on the menu is you want Extra cheese their would be a charge! The outside atmosphere was nice but the owner hovered watching employees but not actively participating. Italian food quality was soso. Wine was very overpriced for the low end quality.

We had not visited this location for several years and decided to stop in for lunch as lunch choices in the Palm Beach area are limited. This was a good choice. We were seated where we could watch the food preparation and the lady who was setting up did a great job. This is not your Olive Garden, it reminds me of the northern Italian restaurants that I saw when visiting Milan. The serve was top notch and the food was really great. We didn't have a chance to come for dinner but we will next year.

During our Oct 2020 vacation we visited multiple times. Since the location is set off the main strip of hotels the prices were reasonable and service was laid back. Last week we came back to find out the have a two tiered pricing system and the cost of our dinner almost tripled! The two tier pricing system is not right in any environment. Locals pay about 1/2 the price. I brought them $1000’s in business. So instead of giving them $1000’s, I switched to eating directly on the beach for the same price. I will not go to any restaurant with discriminatory pricing.

This is my 22nd trip to Aruba. I’ve been to Hostaria at least 40 times over 22 years. I ate there twice this trip and will be hard pressed to return (usually I eat there a minimum of 3 times most trips). The service was AWFUL. Our waiter was Henry V. He was rude, condescending, and seemed to take pride in making sure his tables were miserable. He got our order wrong, insisted he was right, talked badly about us, and made faces/gestures about us because we told him he brought us the wrong thing. The eggplant appetizers were inedible. The first night I ate there, I ordered the rucola salad from the main menu (served with Parmesan and radicchio). I was brought a plate of plain rucola and was told there were 2 rucola salads. I pored through the menu- there is only one. So this trip, I specified the salad I wanted. It was brought undressed. Part of having a special salad at a restaurant is that the chef dresses it properly. The millefoglie was so hard, my friend ate it the way one would an ice cream sandwich. Millefoglie is supposed to be light, airy, and flaky. No more bread as part of a meal, unless you pay for it. The menu is now in Florins and is markedly less expensive than it had been. Maurizio was nowhere to be found. I cannot help but wonder if ownership or management has changed since last year. I certainly hope they are able to fix the restaurant, for their sake and because this was my favorite restaurant. This does not feel like just a Covid issue, especially since so many other places were able to maintain a high level of quality and service while also modifying the menu and implementing safety precautions.

Love this place. I come from NY, live in Boston and my wife is all Italian and a terrific cook...so I know good Italian food. Hostaria is such a place. First the place is clean enough to eat off the floor, everyone's temperature is taken upon entering and all wear masks until you are seated at your table. They have reduced prices 40-50% so the locals can afford a good meal. Please help the island and patronize this wonderful restaurant.

The outdoor garden ambiance is wonderful and really the only thing saving this place from being awful. The server was friendly and he tried but there were two other large family parties outside that consumed attention. The best part of the meal was the homemade bread— my chicken Limone was so tough and rubbery that I could not determine if it was over or under cooked. In addition, it came out barely warm..... for $35 a plate. My husband’s sausage dish seemed to be missing its key ingredient of sausage. Horribly overpriced for very poor quality—- which Is sad because it is a lovely place.

Hostaria had been one of my favorite places for lunch and conversation with friends but since they are offering local prices, the service has been awful. This is not the first time we have been mistreated by our waiter but definitely will be the last! The waiter today confused our orders and brought to the table a dish we did not ordered, and it’s ok mistakes happen but her attitude afterwards was awful and embarrassing. She came over to rudely talk to us and explain why she was right, never owned to her mistake and shush us off while she walked away trying to have the last word on the conversation. They intended to charge us that dish and felt like it was a favor by not doing so at the end. Not a single dime was offered as a discount. The whole service afterwards was off and rude. They never offered us to refill our water glasses or asked us if we wanted dessert of coffee. All just rude and disappointing.

We ended up here after the hotel concierge told us it was her favorite food on the island. It did not disappoint. For dinner we had delicious chicken Parmesan and gnocchi and returned another day for lunch. Tiramisu was one of my favorites. It was very inexpensive (especially compared to other meals we had) but very delicious. You cannot go wrong for the price. We will definitely return.

Went here on Jan 1st as a lot of restaurants are closed. Made a dinner reservation on Open Table and everything worked fine. Service was great and the owner / chef in the back extremely busy with numerous dishes. We did not have, but the veal chop looked amazing. A waiter mentioned that they had 450 dinner reservations that night. He was great in letting us know that two table of 10 and 12 would be ordering soon and if we did not want a long wait, to order soon, which we did. He also mentioned they had the best terimisu on the island. He was correct. Big enough for 2-3.

11/2/20 dinner- we went at 6pm to avoid other diners. No one was at the desk after 5 minutes a person came and we elected to eat outside. A waiter came with menus and asked if we wanted to order drinks, we elected just water. He never asked if we had any questions regarding the menu. We had calamari for an appetizer which were just ok but the marinara sauce was good. My husband ordered Chicken Parmagean with a side of penne. I ordered Chicken lemone.and a side of broccoli. Chicken Parm had a burnt taste and the marina sauce had a sharp taste. We had to ask for parmagean cheese. I had 2 small pieces of chicken with moderate amount of sauce. The chicken was not too tender. The broccoli was fine. Once our meals were delivered, we never saw a wait person again. No one came to ask if everything was ok or if there was anything else they could get for us. We asked for the check which was delivered and after it was set there was no thank you. Very, very, very disappointing since this restaurant was highly recommended. We would never go there again.

We had heard good things but don't waste your time. Service was just ok and the food below average. app was fried calamari....was below average and not enough to share, very small portion. My wife had grouper which was overcooked and not much flavor. I had ravioli which almost seemed like frozen ravioli and they were served upside down. The sauce had no taste at all. I ordered a side of meatballs which were very very good. 4 meatballs for $7 and it was the best thing we had. My son had pasta in pesto sauce. He ordered it with shrimp for $8 extra. It came with 2 very small shrimps. When I showed the waiter he said yes that is normal. ??? Really, 2 small shrimps for $8? They saw we were disappointed and when the bill arrived the waiter said they discounted it 20% which was nice. I would rather pay more for good food though and overall would not go back to this place.

We’ve been here three times, but only eaten here twice, because the last time we stood up and walked out in disgust after being ignored for 45 minutes after placing our order. How long does it take to make fried calamari? (Apparently about 3 minutes, because that’s the elapsed time it took for it to arrive at our table at Aqua Grill across the street, which is where we went after abandoning this place.) I suppose we weren’t completely ignored: After we flagged the waiter down for the second time to ask where our appetizer was, he scolded us that the food would come out when it was good and ready. It’s too bad, because the food here has been very good when we’ve actually gotten to eat it. (Though the service is always very slow, and often quite snippy.)

When an Italian restaurant tells you on the opening page of the menu that they will charge for extra olive oil then you know that you’re in trouble. This restaurant was very pretty but the food was less than mediocre and the prices were ridiculous. The wine list was also expensive given the choices. Service was so so. Would definitely not go back.

Hi, thank you for your review. Nowhere in our menu says that we charge extra for olive oil. If you felt the food or service was mediocre please write a real review so we can learn from it and fix it. Hope you are safe during this time.

This place was Great few years ago !with Good service that was on point! But this Trip 2021 my family large and I decided to stop in and have a nice Italian meal , so I told my family i new of this nice Italian restaurant off the strip Good great service Oh boy was I wrong !! I haven’t been there since2018/ 2019 and it was great then . I guess this pandemic took its toll on them . Not only was the service Subpar but the meals match the service . Sorry to say on top of that my wife and I believe they price Gouging there customers , meaning the price on there menu did not match our bill at the end of the night , Definitely No (Don Pepes) for all you New Yorkers that know Great Italian Food .. wife order a Sole fish for her main course the price on there menu says it’s $48 bill came and fish was $60 , stuff like that you all should watch out for . To Top off the night the server came and dropped off a $550.00 bill with out even asking if my large Party wants any coffee or desserts .. to put the Icing on the cake they Hit us with a Gratuity charge of $78.00 .. definitely didn’t deserve $5.00 But what ever we were on Our Vacation didn’t feel like having a old Fashion NYC argument with Manager !! Who’s obviously running the place to the ground… Stay away actually run away from this place.. you want a great Meal for that kind of Money check out BRUTTO up the block you can get a Fresh shot of Louie XIII and a great dinner for $550.00 that’s just my opinion..
