This place was great! The ambiance by the pool was relaxing. It’s a short cab from the high rises. The food was delicious! It was fun cooking on the hot plates and something different. We enjoyed a cheese plate as well too!

Don’t waste your money

Although this is a beautiful restaurant and the obeisance is amazing the food is terrible. The French onion soup was served with a long piece of rope, yes you read that correctly rope. Then I ordered the chicken in sauce with buttered noodles. The chef...must have thrown a bottle of oregano and a pound of sugar in the sauce. Was not eatable. People in my party were disappointed with the picks as well.More

Our favorite restaurant in Aruba!

We've been in Aruba for more than a month and we dine out nearly every night. Papiamento is probably our favorite restaurant in Aruba. The setting is delightful and the service was outstanding. But, frankly, that is true of lots of restaurants in Aruba. The...difference at Papiamento is that the food was exceptionally delicious. Everything we tasted was not just good, but "crave-able" good such that we will be compelled to return before we leave Aruba. Also, while we dined there, it started to rain. The staff immediately snapped into action and provided every table with an umbrella within seconds, before the food got too wet. We were impressed!More

Best meal on trip

The staff was super friendly and the ambiance was pleasant. The food was incredible. The shrimp was amazing. I don’t know how they made the shrimp so good but wow I could eat them all day.

Great Fish Selections

Pros: 1. Extensive menu 2. Close to Resort area/short taxi ride 3. Perfect for a romantic dinner 4, Temp checks, contact tracing and reservations Cons: 1. Prices 2. Service 3. Seating 4. Gaps in Ordering Having dined at Barefoot and Madame Janette’s, we were a...bit disappointed in the ambiance and plastic chairs sprinkled around the pool. However, having wait staff wearing masks and face shields was a nice touch. The rather extensive menu is electronic due to Covid19 so bring your well charged phone. A WiFi passcode is available upon request. We ordered the following: Fisherman’s Bisque 3/5 stars Burgundy Pate 5/5 stars Kriollo 4/5 stars Mermaid (Wahoo & Shrimp cooked on a stone) 4/5 stars Caipirinha 1/5 (*the worst I’ve ever had) Mojito 4/5 (*delicious but small for its price) Bollo Preto 5/5 (*very special ice cream dessert) Of the other places mentioned above, this restaurant is not a first choice but it is certainly a nice local option for an average of $65 USD per person.More

30th wedding anniversary.

We celebrated our anniversary at Papiamento last night. It was their reopening night. The place is beautifully renovated. The service was impeccable. So many servers making sure all goes well. Husband had his dinner on the hot stone. I had the grouper with almonds. Both...were outstanding. Such a beautiful place. A must do !More

Expected more

We were so looking forward to dining here and were very underwhelmed. The food was just OK and service was not great. Atmosphere was very nice but I wouldn't return.

Been 5 years

Dined here 4 years ago and rotated Papiamento back for Feb 2020 vacation. Pretty much the same very nice restaurant we experienced before. Food was tasty, prepared on hot stones a novelty; service was a bit slow but good enough; setting is very nice; like...all restaurants in Aruba there are no bargains or value.More
