About
Aruba is all about the fabulous beaches during the day, and the many great restaurants at night. It is only logical that these two unique things of Aruba are combined into one! Luc & Gerco found the perfect spot to synergize great food, and a beautiful setting to create an experience almost unique on our island. When listening to the ocean caressing the shore, while wiggling your toes through the pearly white sand, why not let yourself be pampered by a gourmet dinner? Chef Gerco & Maitre d' Luc had a shared dream of opening up a restaurant here, but wanted something in line with what they enjoy on Aruba: the nearly perfect climate, the possibility to always be outside, the tropical feel... Barefoot came highly recommended. My wife and I were looking forward to dinner on the beach. The food was excellent however the ambiance was lost the moment we were seated indoors adjacent to the main isle in and out of the kitchen. At times as...many as 12 servers would walk by in a 10 second period. My recommendation is to be certain you will be seated outdoors or don’t go because there are better options out there.More

I was in Aruba over 2 weeks including 3 of the best rated resorts, food was ok. When I came here the first time I must say it's a cut above the rest. Professional service, delicious food and the location and setting is just perfect...for a sunset dinner! Recommend going there at least one time (you'll probably want to come back!)More

First, do not order the chicken and pineapple if you do not like overly sweet dishes. The chicken was dry and the sauce was very very sweet. I did not enjoy it. My table mates got the grouper and thought it was fine. My table...also asked for more bread and told the waiter twice and he did not bring it to us or acknowledge it. We also felt like he was pushing food (dessert, appetizers, drinks, etc) onto us and he did not seem genuine. He asked why I didn't order a drink, and followed it up with, "oh are you driving?" The dessert was terrible. I got the crème brûlée and there was no crackle top. This is the most important part of a crème brûlée to me. The ice cream was good. I will note that dinner on the beach was nice, especially during sunset. I do not think it is worth it for the ambiance if you already have a hotel on the beach - we got much better photos at the beach at our hotel. There were people swimming in the water behind the restaurant as well as boats, so our photos did not turn out great.More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our taxi driver that picked us up from the airport. Boy am I glad he told us about this place! Firstly, the atmosphere is unmatched. We had dinner just as the sun was setting and the views cannot...be beat. Our waitress (I think her name was Denise) was magnificent; so friendly and attentive. I had the mahi mahi and it was one of the best meals I've had in years. If you come to Aruba you must visit!More

One of our favorite place to eat out while in Aruba is BAREFOOT! Service and food are always excellent and we are always there for a beautiful sunset and watch the planes landing. You can sit on beach or in hut.

Beautiful! On the beach with your toes in the sand at sunset….. words can’t describe it. Then the tiki torches and the evening breeze. The drinks and food were wonderful! Go here!!

Highlight of our first trip to Aruba. Cannot fault in any way. The food was amazing, the ambience lovely, the staff were accommodating in taking phots for you etc and of course the fabulous sunset! If you visit Aruba it is definitely worth pushing the...boat out and enjoying this experience. 10 out of 10.More

Superb restaurant! Go near sundown and ask for a table on the beach! Great drinks, great food! Not inexpensive, but the quality of the food and service was worth it!

Arrived at Barefoot Oranjestaad having walked about a mile from main centre, pleasnt walk, easy to find restaurant. Bar and inside dining area very stylish and steps down to outer terrace and beach make for lovely setting if you are out there. Service was excellent,...food offering varied with an extensive drinks menu to accompany. Mostly couples and small groups when I visited which was expected, largely due to the romantic setting. Food was served promptly, so much so that requested a break between courses! Bisque starter was delicious, main course was ok, nothing wrong, just ok. All in all, a nice evening, very slick service and good attention to detail generally.More

Great spot. Pretty good food and service was good. My only issue was having to wait 30 minutes for a cab. It’s a $20 cab ride from high rise hotels and not sure worth the wait for a cab.

Start to finish, our experience was amazing!! From the minute we walked in the door we were greeted with friendly, enthusiastic smiles. They kindly seated us in the sand to maximize our view and experience, and it didn’t disappoint. All of the waitstaff and managers...were incredibly attentive. They kindly took our pictures at sunset and they turned out amazing - I’m talking professional quality photos! It’s obvious this wasn’t their first rodeo. :) The complimentary warm rolls appetizer and each of our meals was delicious. Our last night on the island could not have been more perfect - we will be back! Thank you, Barefoot!!More
