For the money spent it really is not a "knock your socks" off a steak restaurant. The lighting was on the kind of dark side, it was hard to read the menu and it detracted from the ambience. I had the Argentine shish kabob. It...was nothing special. I could have grilled a shish kabob better, tastier, and for a whole lot less money than this version of a shish kabob. My wife enjoyed her grilled salmon.More

We were excited to try this restaurant as it was recommended by a local and it was good. Our experience was favorable we had the steak and enjoyed ours. Great taste and food. The sangria was ok and the wait (even with reservation) was long....It is a bit loud and seems like a very popular restaurant.More

Absolutely terrible. An expensive steak simply not be chewy. And the Argentinan steak was exactly that but at least it lacked taste. The atmosphere is virtually not existent. It’s loud and impersonal. Intimacy? Not even close. Ownership tacked on a 15% surcharge for a party...of two. The manager patronized us telling us the surcharge was the rule in Aruba and it isn’t. She informed us that she was in the business for 45 years and she explained the .15% as if we were children. Aruba has so many dining options and El Gaucho needs to be avoided at all costs. We’re so disappointed.More

This is one of our faves everything we visit. The Gaucho steak never disappoints! The best steak I've ever had, anywhere. If you don't want a full point of meat, the bife de Lomita (beef tenderloin) 8 oz and 12 oz are the same thing,...only smaller. Plaintains are an excellent side dish. The trio of sauces are excellent too. Friendly service, great Argentinian steakhouse decor, mariachis... it is worth the cab ride!More

We are in Aruba for our honeymoon and a friend recommended this restaurant for dinner. This place did not disappoint! The meats are fantastic and the portions are huge. I got the ribeye and it was the biggest steak I’ve ever had. Not to mention...one of the best too. My only regret is not being able to take home our leftovers because we don’t have a microwave to reheat food back at our resort 😂. This is definitely a place to go for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries. They will treat you right!More

We have dined here every time we stay in Aruba and this was no exception. However, we have always walked away completely satisfied. This was not one of them. I ordered the short ribs. Warning - only order this if you want the meat layered...with tons of fat. In my opinion, short ribs should be slow cooked and NOT on a grill. I know this as I have cooked this many times to the point where the meat is falling off the bone. Most of these ribs were not edible due to the high content of fat. I will say that this was my single only such experience and I will return again but ordering something else. On the plus side, the service was great as always.More

We have always loved their steaks and normally go twice on a 2 week vacation but this year we cancelled our 2nd reservation. All four of us were so disappointed with our steaks. Their sides are not anything to write home about but that was...always ok knowing our steaks would be something we would be talking about way after we got home from vacation. Two of us got the El Gaucho Steak and two got the strip steak. You would have thought maybe one steak would be a fluke but not all 4. We also missed the guy going around singing at tables with his guitar. He was always so nice. He did go to the tables that had a birthday to sing Happy Birthday.More

Went there years ago and it was so good. Threweeb4 of us and one filet mignon had to be sent back because it was way overcooked. Our ribeye, that we shared was tasteless. Waiter charged us for sharing even though we had appetizers and a...bottle of wine. This policy puts a bad taste in your mouth, especially when you're spending a lot of money in this restaurant! Sorry, but we took it off the waiters tip!!!!! I would not return to this restaurant. It's not special anymore and you can get a better steak elsewhere!More

Was attracted to the idea of an Argentinian steakhouse since I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Argentina and having delicious steak there. Entering the restaurant, I began to get an uneasy feeling. The restaurant was crowded and loud and the staff seemed harried. Once we...were seated, the uneasiness became disbelief. The strolling guitarist played Sweet Caroline which the dining room sang along to as if at a baseball game. No judgment — I’m sure some people want that atmosphere, we just didn’t. My husband wanted to order a glass of wine but was never given a wine list after asking twice so was left watching the tables around us enjoying their wine. The garlic bread was not good. We ordered the stewed squid which was overcooked and in a sauce that tasted like the sauce on pepper steak. My son’s medium rare steak was very rare. My husband’s steak was meant to be medium rare but came medium well and cold. I got the trio of tenderloins — the pork, lamb and steak were all overcooked. All of the sides were inedible —mushy vegetables, cold French fries, gross corn. Made school lunch look good. Our server, once he realized we were dissatisfied, stayed far away from us. He also forgot our order of mushrooms which given the rest of the meal may have been a blessing. Definitely save your money for one of the many good restaurants in Aruba.More

First red flag, it is a very large restaurant given Aruba is a small island. Very frenetic, speed and turning tables seem to be the goal of this venue. Service (much older male waiter) very hurried, very hectic, did not present the menu at all....Demanded our order, and not much else. Ordered the mini parilla for two ($120) and it was gimmicky. Food comes out instantly. The “grill” was a cheap metal box with two small briquettes barely warm. All the meat was overcooked and dry, inedible. Ate less than a third and left the rest. Next table over returned their ribs. The included bottle of Chilean wine was undrinkable. Was tinted rubbing alcohol… May have been a place back in the day, now seems to be a mill to extract tourist dollars only. Possibly one of the poorest dining experiences ever.More

We visited on our honeymoon and had the Parrillita para dos. It was a great deal and we got wayyy more food than we could handle. But all of the meats were very good and the desert was very tasty. Our server, Lyndon, was fantastic....Really engaging and made the experience fantastic. Would definitely come back.More

No, there is not. But don’t let that play into your decision to go. It’s a large restaurant and they are seating tables apart. Plus live music. We go 2/3 times every vacation.
