This place is not actually open. We checked the website yesterday evening which stated that it was open until 3am. This was not the case and we were not impressed after making the journey to the venue on Saturday. If anything, out of common courtesy state...on your website that you are closed during the low season in Antigua which runs from May until November.More
We found this restaurant early on our second visit to Antigua, unfortunately we hadn’t found it the previous year. The menu choices are large and varied. Not the cheapest meal in town, but good enough to pay a second visit during our 2 week stay.
Lovely spot, thought out menu and charming service. It was a quiet evening and we weren’t terribly hungry but nonetheless weren’t made to feel guilty for just having a sharing platter and a bottle of wine. Rest of menu looks impressive and I’ll be back...to sample.More
The place is amazing. You pop in for a drink and you end up by asking for a table and the menu. Paolo welcomes you with a very personal italian touch, italian as in «classy» and not certainly in the pushy way. He tells you...briefly what the daily specials are about, leaves you all the time you need to think it over, and comes back every now and then to make sure you're being treated as he expects you should be.
Every plate is a treat for the palate.
We started with a chickpea light soup with a touch of natural local herbs, a wahoo tartare (a local fabulous fish similar to a sword fish but much more tender and juicy) and an «aubergine parmigiana» that was more genuine than a large number of parmigianas eaten in Italy.
As a main course we had a grilled wahoo with vegs that was juicy, healthy and tasty, and home made ravioli, all of it accompanied by a great bottle of Falanghina, a neapolitan wine.
The place is simple though warm, elegant but unpretentious, the lights are perfect and by the time you get to the dessert, an amazing crême brulée with thyme that you won't easily forget, you're all set to book your second dinner for your stay in Antigua.
Top performance, 5 stars across the board.More
Paolo the owner gives a personal service to diners. You feel like a guest. Had prosciutto with fresh pears and parmesan to start and mahi mahi for mains. All delicious! Pasta is all handmade on the premises.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
This place is very interesting! It is much larger than what you can see from the main road. Our family of five enjoyed an amazing meal, all of the specials were very good. We were able to bring our own wine for a small corkage...fee. I recommend the squid ink pasta and catch of the day. Service was excellent manager frequently around to explain menu.More
