My wife and I visited Antigua for our honeymoon and we booked Island Fusion for Boxing Day. My wife is vegan and we often struggle (particularly in the Caribbean) so I emailed ahead of time to make sure they could cater for us, and they...said they could.
While we were in Antigua some strict COVID rules were enacted and Sandra and her team reached out to us straight away to let us know we'd need to move the booking. I wasn't the easiest person to reach, being at the bottom of the Carribean Sea on a diving trip at the time, with my phone in the safe in the room... But they moved heaven and earth to get in touch and eventually we brought the booking forward a couple of hours.
Having arrived at the restaurant we sat down and Sandra had prepared a special meal for my wife (vegan bolognese). I had the Lobster Bisque starter. It was quite possibly the best starter I've ever had. The main course (curried goat) wasn't as good (how could it have been?) but it was still awesome. Service great, local beers cold and delicious and the bill was very reasonable.
We got chatting to Sandra and she offered to make a special vegan cheesecake should we want to return. Unsurprisingly we did! Second time around it was just as good (I had the lobster bisque again, as well as Lobster curry for main). The cheesecake was great.
It's important to say that this isn't fine dining - it's hearty, home-cooked, delicious, authentic food, with friendly service. It's the best restaurant on the island for a reason.
If you do have a dietary need, let them know first and you will be taken care of.
Thank you Sandra - Happy New Year
