Four of us stopped off for a swim and lunch whilst walking from Dartmouth to Torcross. A lovely place to eat right on the beach. We each ordered different meals and all were very good.

On a glorious summer day my family and I enjoyed chowder and prawns in the most delightful setting. The service was first class and I would heartily recommend this to anyone. We shall return.

Time was when beach side food was a limited selection of greasy over priced food. The Venus chain have changed all that in South West England with some imaginative menus both take out and Cafe-based. Blackpool Sands is great for lunch ranging from a sub £5 Panini through to a Burger meal. Pasties, imaginative pies (Homity and Aloo Gobi) although... More

I ate here recently with my wife and children. The food was excellent, especially the burgers. Good value and good service also. My wife was particularly impressed by the imaginative vegetarian burger option.

Stayed in a B&noB a mile away, so we walked the coastal path to Venus Cafe in Blackpool Sands. A stunning location, this privately owned beach (it's £7 a day to park your car and entrance to the beach), the sun was shining and it was very quiet at 09:00. The Venus Cafe is very nicely laid out, clean with... More

We popped in here for lunch whilst at Blackpool Sands beach, it's located on the beach so very convenient. The cafe itself is nothing special to look at which may put some people off however the food is good, the portion sizes are reasonable and the quality is very good. I only have two reservations, the food was quite expensive... More

£7 parking fee, increasingly wet rain and stones that attacked the soles of anybody foolish enough to attempt anything sporty in bare feet: sounds like a great day out by the seaside in Britain! As it was, our three generational gathering did have a good time, and what really saved the day was the Venus cafe and bar. A prime... More

We had dinner here and loved the outlook over the beach. It is very casual - you order at the counter. We had the mackerel and tomato and onion salad and an extra side salad - really good fresh food.

This place has a great location indeed and the decor is all fine. The restaurant does feel a little fast food with communal ketchup pumps and having to order at the counter. I guess this is for the day trade but in the evening they could get a waiter or two ! 4 of us had steaks and 2 other... More

The plan was to eat here every night while we were on holiday in a nearby village, and relax and take in the sea view. On the first night the food was good but my plate was stacked high with french fries, enough for 2 people. Would have preferred a smaller portion of chips and a reduced price as it's... More
