We ate at Taska Quim Barbeiro in Vidago twice during our stay at the Vidago Palace hotel. There are only about 4 tables in the small restaurant so we asked the hotel to book a table for us to ensure we would be able to eat there. There is a menu but the choice seemed to be rather limited to... More

We found this little restaurant by chance. We only spoke English but the owner could not have been more helpful. The starters were ham, cheese, olives and bread, all delicious. We let the owner choose for us and were not disappointed. We had the veal, beautifully cooked and absolutely delicious. The local red wine was also lovely but most of... More

Location: Located in Vidago village near the Vidago palace and city center. Since this is a small village it's not hard to find. Decor & Place Small place with 4 tables, I recommend to book in advance. Decoration is the typical one in this kind of place "tasca" or "bodega" with lots of artifacts from local agriculture and business history.... More

We tried to book early that day, but all hours were already booked. Because I sounded sad, the owner proposed a late dinner… and boy… it worth it the wait. Great food.

This is a Tiny tucked away family restaurant that serves delicious typical Portuguese dishes, with a no fuss ready to please attitude. When food is presented, despite all the yummy olives, salame, cheese and bread starters, it was so delicious, we made no time at all of wiping our plates clean. Pity we found this gem on the last night!

This unpretentious little restaurant can be judged by the way the locals piled in on a Sunday evening: they clearly rate it and so did we. The main dish was suckling pig, served on a bed of rice and potatoes: it was quite delicious, full of flavour. They served tapas of cheese, Parma ham and ordinary ham to start with... More

Our hotel recommended this place and we were not disappointed. This is a small family run restaurant with simple, authentic and gorgeous food. We let the waiter choose for us: we had a selection of cooked meat with a mixed salad, followed by a grilled steak with fresh herbs and garlic, the meat cooked to perfection and melting like butter.... We had a very fun, casual dinner at Taska, a recommendation from our hotel, Vidago Palace. There was no menu and the owner didn't speak much English so he just kept bringing us wonderful food. We first had the homemade prosciutto which was delicious. (They have photos of the pig so you know it is homemade). He then brought us... More
