Came here by chance after visiting Kew Gardens on a sunny September afternoon for drinks. Impeccable service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend and definitely visit again

As others have noted, it's the ideal place to have a relaxing (and well-deserved) sit-down meal after a full day's hiking around Kew Gardens. The location is ideal especially if you have train to catch as it's basically part of the station. It's also one...of the friendliest eateries I've visited, and the staff have a genuine warmth, making this very welcoming. We were both looking for a lighter bite before a long train journey home and the waiter was very helpful with his recommendations. I ended up with the Caesar Salad with a couple of extras on top, and it was absolutely spot on in every way; just the right size, tasty, and thoughtfully put together. It's worth also recommending the London Porter smoked salmon starter, a very generous serving and elegantly accompanied with horseradish creme fraiche. Since March of this year, the dining experience has changed radically, and happily all the correct precautions were in place, including social distancing, table service, single-use menus, sanitisers, and a one-way system through the buildings. We felt very well looked after and will definitely recommend this for anyone on a day out to Kew.More

Came here after a full day at Kew. Would not have chosen this place had it not been for the fact that all other restaurants in the area were full! It was Rishi Sunak’s last day of eat out to help out! So cane here...as you did not have to book in advance and they had tables. I found the service was really good and the food in quality was above that of your average pub. Really good choice and delicious! There was social distancing and we felt safe coming here. The pub had good ambience and a friendly crowd. I did not see any riff-raff! Would come again. Just a word of warning, the toilets are down the stairs and not sure those in wheelchairs would be able to get down there. And there was a vegetarian option but not much choice there.More

Called in here on the way back from Kew Gardens, thinking the food would be more reasonably priced.....we were wrong. Two very poor chicken, chorizo sandwiches which were supposed to come with a 'salad.' Ordered with ciabatta bread and we were then told there was...none, so ordered brown, to be told there was none, so settled for white. The salad was literally a few leaves, and the meat had seen better days. Social distancing policy seems confused, a one way system, drinks served on trays for the customer to take, but with staff speaking over us at the table.....I don't get this at all. Disappointed, should have eaten at Kew.More

The place was really busy, however they had plenty of staff on hand, so didn't have to wait to get served. An eclectic mix of people which made for a great atmosphere

We went to this pub restaurant with our daughter and her family early Saturday evening after a visit to the Orchid Festival. We had reserved a table which was essential given the number of people who were turned away while we were there. The staff...were very welcoming as we arrived slightly early with our two granddaughters, the younger one less than nine months old. The range of top quality cask beers immediately caught my eye. I ordered a round of drinks while our table was made ready. The menu has something for everyone. My wife and I both had the Green Lentil Curry while our daughter had the sea bass and our son-in-law had the burger. Our elder granddaughter had a specially prepared portion of macaroni cheese. All the food and drinks were superb. For desserts we enjoyed sticky toffee pudding, chocolate brownie and ice cream all of which were delicious. The bill was very reasonable and the service was excellent. For parties of eight or more there is a service charge of 12.5% but I was very happy to add that for our party of four adults and two children. The pub has a great atmosphere and is worth visiting for that alone. Highly recommended.More
