This used to be a place with always good food, freshly prepared for normal prices. So I invite my big family to lunch for my birthday. We were so dissapointed, because the waiter was not in the mood to help us order, no advice, no...smile, no nothing. He just throw as the menu and ask for order. After that, he forget to bring mineral water, 2 glasses for water... Later I find special winter menu from barbacue, but he did not tell us that or bring us this menu. Completely unpersonal, bad mood, he spoiled my birthday. The food is stil quite ok, big portions, well prepared. House beer also ok. We were 12 of us, but never come back again. If we are not wellcomed, why go there. In some restaurants they give even some small gift (a glas of drink or something) for birthday... but not there (the waiter knew it was my 50ths birthday). dissapointment completelyMore

This restaurant used to be a very good local family owned restaurant. I used to go there a lot, because of their really good house brewed beer. We went there for a quick "on the way" lunch and it was a such disappointment that they...will never see me againg. First of all the food was yust below mediocre, but this isn't the worst part. The worst part was their waiter who was totally unprofessional. This guy literally throw us the forks and kniwes on the table like you throw the food to the pigs. If you don't respect your customers, you can simply close the business, becouse is not for you. Iam not used to give bad reviews, bad this has to be written. Don't go there if you don't want to be threatened like animals.More

Our friends who live in Ljubljana recommended we visit Gostina Mahnic and we were not disappointed. This nicely furnished restaurant offers dining both inside and outside under a covered terrace. The restaurant specialises in barbeque meat dishes (but also offers pasta, fish etc). We ordered...a mixed barbeque meat dish for two which was delicious and in fact was enough for four persons. Apparently, the restaurant’s generous portions are an added feature. A variety of deserts are also on offer, as well as a large choice of beverages, with the beer being excellent. Staff were courteous and efficient, pricing was very reasonable and credit cards are readily accepted. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Gostina Mahnic and could not fault any aspect.More

An OK restaurant with no special features. We ordered "Wienerschnietzel" and "gurmanska pleskavica" (pleskavica with cheese and pork). Usually for a slovenene restaurant for every meat dish you order you do get a side dish (fried chips, any kind of potato, rice, vegetables,...). Not at...this restaurant. But they did bring a basket of bread for the both of us. We didn't like that and never touched the bread. Instead we ordered some french fries. It would be nice, if the waiter pointed that out as we were ordering. Otherwise, we were very pleased with our food. It is tasty. The beer I ordered was only 2€ (a bargain for a private breewery). But the taste (which is OK by me) stayed right back there in the 90s, when the restaurant started. Hint to the restaurant managers: try to inform about the 'only bread as a side' policy and try new kinds of beer offerings for a new kind craft breew society. When I was paying, I reminded the waiter I don't mind paying 2,5€ for fries that I ordered, but never orded 0,5€ of bread I didn't touch, he gut a bit angry and presented me a coin of that value. Not a big deal, but he did not get a tip afterwards. Otherwise we paid 22€ for a decent lunch and recommend the place. We will return.More

Do not recommend, better go somewhere else. They spoiled even french frites. For this low quality enormous prices. Bad “home” beer

Waited 45 min to get drinks and another hour for food. Service is terrible and very arrogant. Food is decent, beer too. They allow dogs inside which I didn’t like since they have a terrace outside. Prices are okay, portions big. I am not coming...again.More

The food was good, as always, and the portions were enourmous. We had dinner here on a Sunday evening and it was super crowded - that was the only downside. The beer is excellent!

Perfect place not too far from the border where to borderline meat and drink craft beer. I don't know what else to say, I recommend it!

Typical beer house nothing very special and fancy. But the price is affordable and the food is good enough. Waiters are professional but nothing special. So if you look for something extraordinary go somewhere else if you want a solid dish which is usually served...with beers then this is the right place. Some people tend to look for a place where you got so much food but the taste is secondary then visit Mahnic. I have skipped the desert since I have already eaten too much .. with so many foods what else can you do? But IMO even the deserts are too big for one portion. So food, food and more food. And yes try a beer too! Nothing special either but good. Oh yeah ... not to forget. If you want some conversation you will have to yell a lot. The place is so loud!More

Checked good! Every so long we come for lunch at the restaurant. I'm thrilled by my "waiter" who unfortunately do not know the name (older gentleman, he started to wear glasses) because he is very kind and we are all well explained. Usually we order...plates for 2 people with 3 types but we like the best grilled meat that this time was full of domestic potatoes. Beer is homemade and without chemical. Dogs are allowed on the terrace. The restaurant has a large parking lot.More
