Tumunu Restaurant is in a lovely setting and the staff are very friendly. Unfortunately the food when we were there was not great. The fish we had was over cooked and rubbery and the Margarita that we ordered tasted like it had soap in it...More

Kia orana and thank you so much for your constructive review. The fish is normally beautiful and it would seem that yours was a tad overcooked that night. Certainly we appreciate your comments and will certainly learn from them. Kia manuia The team at Tumunu

The Tumunu experience is quite fun. They have done a good job creating the traditional atmosphere with the added bonus of gathering greens for the meal cooked in an Umu (earth oven). They have just completed the addition of a patio bar so you can...More

I think you have us confused with the ATIU TUMUNU. We do not do a traditional Umu. We are the Tumunu Garden Restaurant on the West side of the island

I am so sorry that this happened to you. The dog is normally tethered until well after all the patrons have left and this is certainly a first for it to "bite". My question is.....why didn't you make this known to the staff or management...More

Description
A great quirky casual dining experience. Opened since 1979 it still has the same owners and the same name. It is a mix of eclectic and local island decor. The walls feature an array of photos of events, people and things. The ceilings are a collage of various types of posters etc. The Tumunu Garden Restaurant also features the "largest little notebook" on the island. Come visit us! A fun place for children too with a garden and "dancing laser fire flys"
