It's wierd having fish and chips (or pie and chips for that matter) whilst holidaying in France. We booked not realising this place was part French part English owned, and, to be honest, we would usually avoid an English restaurant abroad. We visited on Wednesday which is fish and chip night (the other nights are given over to French cuisine)... More

Delicious lunch with a great view of the river. Starter of gambas was fabulous and presented in a beautiful bowl. Back of tuna served pink was mouth watering and needed nothing more than the grilled peppers and small green salad that accompanied it. A very small selection of wines gave limited choice, but nice to see the majority of wines... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our gite owner and it did not disappoint. We went on a Wednesday night and it was fish and chip night. The fish and chips were served in newspaper with tartare sauce and it was excellent. The setting us beautiful and the wine was very good. No complaints from any of us including the... More

Excellent simple fare but with excellent ingredients and ambiance to match. Friendly welcoming and not at all fussy. Lovely location on the side of the river, will definitely be back!!

Just before the longest day it is still too chilly to eat out on the veranda, but the view of the Dordogne in full flow and of all the bird life from inside was splendid. Charming (as ever) service in English, French or Italian. Lovely house wines with the local connection (ask), and music unsuited to cranky oldies changed without... More

A busy fun atmosphere. The salad starter and choux pastry dessert were fine. The lamb mains with peas a beans in a casserole could have had much more flavour.

Visited as part of a large wedding party - a regular recommendation by Chateau Rigaud (which itself is wonderful in all respects). Riverside setting superb but felt very much like a 'cash cow' rather than valued customers. Food adequate but not of usual French standard (appeared to be British run). House wine a over-priced at 13€ a bottle which was... More

We stopped off here on the way from the airport to our accommodation. It's tucked away on the river and has a lovely riverside veranda in the cool shade with a gentle breeze. Dangerously easy to sit in the shade all afternoon and sip delicious wine.

Someone described the style as "surf-shop chic" which is quite suiting, and the setting by the riverside adds to the feeling. No extraordinary finesse in the food or the service, but a lovely place we enjoy returning to for the relaxed atmosphere. Check opening hours, and pick a sunny day.

This restaurant was recommended by the owners of a house we rented in the area four years ago. It was great then so we made a rerun trip when we were back in the Dordogne area. The service is very friendly and our waitress was very helpful. The menu is relatively short, as is the wine list, but that does... More
