We are visiting the area and previewed your online menu prior to going on Feb 12, 2020.
The food and service lived up to our expectations for fresh seafood and server Orion was efficient and helpful in recommendations on menu.
Only down side was your online pricing is not kept current. The actual prices were $2 to $4 higher per item than your online website!!!
Either devote resources to keep your website current or remove prices altogether. This is false advertising.

Because the food is good, fresh and economical but a 2 hour wait is not worth it to me. We just returned from a weeks stay in Pensacola beach. We were within walking distance to PLP. So we tried a couple of times to get in for dinner. 2+ hour wait. Nope too many other options for food. We decided one day to arrive at opening 11AM. They opened the doors and we were about the 8th family to be seated. A recurring theme in PB is the SLOW SERVICE at all the restaurants. It wasn't as slow as Hemingway's nor Grand Marlins but it was slower than usual.
We ordered the oyster sampler as an appetizer. Large, plump, fresh oysters. We had ordered oysters at Grand Marlins and was shocked at how much better and flavorful PLP's oysters were. Hands down they blew GM oysters out the water. My hubs ordered the catfish plate. He received 3 large, golden fried, fresh catfish fillets, broccoli and cole slaw. He was able to substitute veggies without an additional charge. I ordered the grilled seafood platter - 3 scallops, 4 shrimp and grilled grouper, broccoli, rice pilaf and garlic bread. No charge for veggie substitutions. I appreciated they had a GRILLED platter. Not everyone wants a plate of fried food. The prices were economical and we received large portions.
I understand why there is a wait and why some people do wait. I would definitely go back and opt for the 11AM opening time. I would not wait more than 30 minutes. We had enough left overs for dinner that night so we killed 2 birds with one stone.
The vibe is like your local catfish joint where the food is good, wait staff is like family and they have preparing the food down to science. The waitress was down to earth, she knew the menu and what to recommend. She was slow delivering the food but I think it's just like that at PB. Yes, I would recommend this establishment to my friends and family.

Great seafood, fair price. Oysters were large and tasty, gumbo was delicious. We split fried platter, grouper/scallops/shrimp/oysters/hushpuppy/fries/slaw $20. Sat at the bar Nick was great server. Locals sitting with us were fun. Great atmosphere and super food. Full bar. Will go back!

We stopped in to Peg Leg Pete's for some lunch (mainly Oysters) on a Saturday afternoon. Of course it was packed, but we requested to sit on their heated patio and cozied up to the lower level bar for a drink while we waited. The ambiance is very rustic, so don't come looking for modern or fancy by any means! The wait was short and we were seated in a great table by the window.
The service was fabulous! Arielle was our server....she was quick and friendly! And the food came out very fast once we ordered.
Everything tasted wonderful! I am sure our table could have eaten all the oyster in the place...starting with tons of fresh while also ordering the sampler platter. We also had the stuffed shrimp, a pasta dish and a fish dish which were all fabulous!

Visiting Pensacola Beach just after the state started allowing in-restaurant dining (with requirements). We arrived at opening and were seated in the covered patio area at a table that generally seats 8. All diners were spaced appropriately and we were served right away. Ordered drinks and a dozen raw oysters (special $9/dz). Both served promptly and then were served our seafood combo special which we shared - grouper, shrimp, oysters and bay scallops. All were very good and the service was great. After finishing, we did not stay very long since there were others waiting for a table here which is seating @ 25% capacity. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere and will return on our next trip here.

Great little gift shop. Tons of stuff on the exterior and interior walls. Places to eat at bar, inside, tables and outside tables as well. Take a pic with old Peg Leg himself at the front door. We went to the bar for some snacks and grabbed the grouper bites, which were very reasonably priced and plentiful. The lady next to us was eating the oysters and said they were fresh and salty as they should be. From there take a look out the back window and get a nice view of some of the local houses with boats.
Just a great way to grab lunch and been entertained at the same time. There are a lot of great places to eat on Pensacola Beach but I would pick this one to return to time after time

Had great take out from peg legs while while the beach was closed due to the virus quarentine. Called ahea on a Monday around noon for 2 orders crab legs and an order of grouper bites. Pick up was in less than 10 minutes, hot and fresh!
Took our to go boxes to a picnic table at the foot of the Pensacola bridge (City side) and had a wonderful little lunch. We'll definately do it again, even without the beaches being closed!

Okay so we had a waitress that was rude to both me and my two kids after we waited an hour and a half to be seated.
We had to constantly ask to get the food we ordered. Our waitress would respond back to me Yes Hun and I know I’m older than she is and I think she was just the worst waitress and it’s very unprofessional to respond yes hun when a customer is telling you that you forgot their food or their food is wrong.
Thumbs down.
Not worth the wait.
The hostess was rude, our waitress was just 2 thumbs down terrible. The food was okay but cold when we got it to the table and it came out at different times and the appetizer was out last... after I reminder her twice and I got the “yes hun” response from her.....

We ate here many times during our two-week Pensacola Beach vacation. Stuffed shirmp with crawfish Julie was my go-to, enjoying it four times! Hubby enjoyed their burgers. Note: Just because they advertise oysters for 79 cents each on Wednesdays, doesn't mean you can buy however many you want. Kinda like advertising shoes as $5 each, but you have to buy them in pairs. Fun place and atmosphere!

This restaurant is surrounded by condo's and en route to the National Park seashore. The atmosphere outside invites one to check out the food as well. Outside seating is available with protection from the elements. The menu is vast, and the food is remarkable. Fresh seafood with amazing flavors. The service was great despite the lunch time rush even in off season. The bread pudding dessert was decadent. Amazing

The best thing Pete's had to offer today was 79cent oysters. They were tasty. After that the food went down hill I had the catfish that was so cooked one of my party really wanted me to send it back, normally I might have but I was full of oysters anyway. Every ones food was over cooked to varying degrees. We have eaten here before with much better results so perhaps this was a one off.

My husband and I along with two friends had lunch at Peg Leg Petes. Seriously, my grouper sandwich was the best I've ever had! A huge piece of blackened grouper grilled to perfection. My friend had the crab plate, my husband had oysters and the seafood platter, and my other friend had the fried grouper all with rave reviews. The waitress was wonderful and even with a packed crowd the food came out very quickly! My husband and I planned to go back for another lunch but shortage of vacation time prevented this. We still talk about how wonderful the whole experience was. We will definitely go back next year when visiting the panhandle.

I'm astounded by the number of positive reviews. This was by far the worst experience in a week. My son and I both ordered the Mixed Grill. The fish, (I'm doubtful it was Grouper), was dry and flavorless. The shrimp were just salty. The unseasoned scallops were practically raw and completely inedible. In the time of Covid, the server took the scallops from our plates, returned them to the kitchen to be cooked further, and replaced them in even worse condition than they were before. They were so rubbery they couldn't be cut with a fork. The side dishes were unseasoned and bland as well. The area outside the main-level restrooms smelled strongly of urine. Go at your own risk; I'll certainly never return.

I love this place. A must stop in every visit, whether alone on work trips or with the family, the food and the servers never disappoint. My favorite are the oysters. I’ve also had the boiled shrimp a couple of times. They are cooked perfectly but the seasoning is really bland and I always have to order old bay on the side and dip them. I’ve had the grilled fish, maybe mahi and it was good. My favorite part of this place is how great the servers alway are, whether I’m alone or with family they make me feel like an old friend.

Food was fantastic. We had parmesan ouster for starter and I jave to say they are the best we have had. We both had the seafood grilledand ptde the combo platter grouper shrimp and large scallops. All I can say is amazing. My husband and I have travelled extensively and both of us agree this has to be some of the best seafood we have had. The staff is great, attentive, friendly and work as a team to ensure your meal gets to the table fresh and hot. Highly recommend and we will return.
