Excellent food, atmosphere and Shipwreck drinks. Would go back in a heartbeat. Lobster and crab legs were amazing! Had a two hour wait to get a table but the drinks make it go by quick!

We are visiting from Kansas City and we’re so excited to enjoy some good seafood while visiting Florida, so we decided to visit Peg Leg Pete’s after reading all of the rave reviews. What a complete disappointment this place was! I had the stuffed shrimp...platter: I could barely find any crab that the shrimp was stuffed with; it was more like it was stuffed with a hush puppy than real crab meat. My husband has the shrimp and crab leg boil: it looked like the most flavorless dish of seafood boil…and my husband confirmed that it was! There were absolutely no seasonings added to his meal. It literally looked like it was dipped in plain hot boiling water and then dumped on a plate. I also had a pina colada. It took me back to my clubbing days with it being served in a styrofoam cup…with no lid. And it definitely tasted like they forgot the alcohol. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of these horrid meals…I think I forgot to because I was in such disbelief of what we were served coming from such a highly spoken-of restaurant. Do your taste buds a favor and STEER CLEAR! If your ever in the KC area hit me up…I can direct you to better tasting seafood place than this!More
We loved this restaurant! The drinks were delicious, and the scallops were the best! Great atmosphere. You have to get the bread pudding with amaretto sauce. It was divine!
Very good food! We have 12 of us visiting FL from Missouri and Texas. Our rented beach house is nearby and Peg Leg Pete’s was recommended. We ate there for lunch. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun. The wait staff was fast...and efficient. We are very happy with our lunch choice today. We might eat here again before we leave town. Very good experience!More
It was our first night in town and we were starving. It was late when we arrived and a friend suggested Peg Leg Pete’s. Had a long 1 hr wait but sat at the bar and had a drink and people watched. Once seated the...service was great! We ordered both the fried and the marinated crab claws and they were fantastic! Keep in mind, we are from New Orleans so we know good seafood!! For the entree we shared the stuffed shrimp. They were very good.More
Was on vacation in Pensacola and decided to try this place. We arrived at 4:30 in the afternoon thinking that it would be less crowed. Was told that the wait would be 1 1/2 hours (which would have been fine). We did not get seated...until after 2 hours and 15 minutes. We were prepared to wait but waiting over 2 hours and 15 minutes was too long when told it would only be 1 1/2 hours. The young man that was working the check-in desk was not nice at all and when we asked about how much longer it would be he kept on saying we were number 10 or 12 out of 70 something which didn't tell me a thing!!! He kept telling people that were inquiring about how much longer it would be that they had big parties and that everyone was taking a long time to eat. We only had a party of two and once seated saw that unlike most places, the tables were for bigger parties. We also inquired about sitting in the bar area but no one would even answer our question if we could just sit at the bar or what. Our server however was very nice and keep us up to date when we again had to wait on our food. The food - which is why we were there and waited for so long - was average. Nothing that great - just average to us. We will not visit again as we ate at other restaurants in the area and didn't have to wait for over two hours and the food was cheaper and had more flavor.More
We were in town for four nights and stopped here on our last night (a wed). We did not expect it to be crowded but it was. The wait was at least two hours. We decided to check out the bar and we got a...seat right away! We ordered food/drinks at the bar and were eating within 20 min! The food was so good and glad we had a chance to eat here. FYI, the locals who hang out at the bar, are super nice & friendly. I can see why they call come and hang out here!More
Tried Peg Legs a couple of times as we live in the Pensacola area and each time the wait was 2 and a half to 3 hours. there are so many other great seafood places out around town to try that we just will not...even attempt to go there.More
This place was real busy. You made to wait an hour. It was OK. The food is all good and the service is great. Five years since the first visit.
My family and I visit Pensacola beach annually. We have dined at Peg Leg Pete in the past. We are always excited to eat here. The food and drinks were fantastic!! Lauren was our waitress. She was knowledgeable and had such a good attitude. I...had the mixed grill (blackened), my hubby had the grouper sandwich, my son had fish/fries. We also had various appetizers. We had a little bit of a wait, so get there early. The food is so good, everyone wants to dine. We will return again in the future.More
We were intimidated by the amount of people outside waiting. Just walk in and give them your number and they will text when table is ready. We ordered the crab legs and shrimp. We also had the bread pudding which was amazing. Will definitely eat...here again.More
Peg Leg Pete’s is an iconic and popular restaurant located in Pensacola Beach, Florida. Our party of 7 adults and 2 children on a weeknight in May waited about 45 minutes despite arriving close to opening time. However, a children’s play area and an open...air bar with live music made the wait pass very quickly. Our large party ordered a variety of items from the menu and all of it arrived directly from the kitchen and was hot and well prepared. Despite being very busy, our server was attentive and brought an extra serving of grilled grouper when he noticed the portion size in a combination platter was small. All in all Peg Leg Pete’s is a place I heartily recommend for a great seafood meal in a casual atmosphere when visiting Pensacola Beach - just be sure to be prepared for a wait.More
From start to finish: This bar, er...restaurant...was underwhelming. We gave it a second try after being discouraged the first time - in which my mom wanted take out, but the employees were so rude, it was so crowded, and they wouldn't make a to-go order,...so she left. On this second try, and after about an hour and a half wait (from about 2:30-4pm), we got to sit down inside the crowded eatery. It's at the beach, so packed like sardines is an appropriate description, right? Cause it was. Tight quarters. Anyway, their obvious highlight is alcohol and oysters. Not our thing, but my mom wanted to satisfy her shrimp craving, and we were just across the street, so that's why we hopped on over for a bite. They had most typical seafood Americana eats -variety of seafood, po boys, burgers, sandwiches, salads, past (their menu can be found on their website). I had the Key West Salad with grilled chicken, but I subbed oil and vinegar for the vinaigrette it's paired with. It was OK. The grilled chicken on it was quite tasty. I was, however, deterred a bit from enjoying it, because water kept dripping down on me and my food. I believe it was condensation from an overhead vent. I told the waiter, and he said he'd pass along the concern. Didn't hear anything more. They did accommodate my son's fish allergy, as the manager came to speak with us to assure us of cooking guidelines. So that was considerate. Aside from the food, the atmosphere is like many - over-decorated, beachy trinkets that were covered in several-inch thick dust. And did I mention it was packed tight? LOL. Outdoor seating would have been better, really. I haven't any experience with other local restaurants yet, so I can't recommend another eatery, but it may be good to do your research before frequenting this establishment. I'm sure there are better.More
Get the best drink from the downstairs bar! Great seafood, reasonable prices! Can’t wait to return during my next trip to the Emerald coast
Food was excellent, service was professional and courteous, prices are consistent with comparable restaurants. No reservations are taken. The wait for a table is long, long, long--we ate there twice in one week--once on Sunday evening and again on Thursday evening. The wait on Sunday...was 3 hours and on Thursday 1.5 hours. Our wait time was at least partially attributable to the size of our party--9 on Sunday and 7 on Thursday. Smaller groups may be seated much more quickly. However, the restaurant is exceedingly popular so you can expect to wait for a table. However, once we were seated at our table, our orders arrived quickly, serving sizes were generous, and the food was tasty and was well prepared. Whether it's worth the wait is an issue to be decided .More
