Grant Grove Restaurant is being renovated, so there is a food truck that is providing 'meals' for those staying in the park. Selection is halfway decent considering the circumstances, but several times when we ordered what we wanted, it was not available. Breakfast Burrito? no tortillas even though it was morning. Coleslaw? Asked for on 2 different days. 'No' both... More

In early season, it's not easy to get a hot meal without a lot of driving. So, this place is the only game in town. We had breakfast and it was OK. The staff were just getting revved up for the coming season and things were a little rough, but they were trying. Room temp was cold -- and the... More

We ate here because we had no other alternative. They had run out of a lot of dishes and they recommended that the chili was really good. It wasn't. It tasted like canned chili. We also ordered their mountain of fries - also gross and apparently straight out of a bag and sat under a heat lamp. We understand the... More

We tried several different places to have lunch in the Sequoia & Kings Canyon parks. Some only had grocery food, another restaurant didn't serve until 4pm. We were lucky to find this open food truck as the true restaurant is set to be torn down and this is a makeshift operation for the season. That being said our burgers were... More

Service was slow and management out of control. They have no chain of command and food was just ok and overpriced.

Arriving in the early evening at our cabin in Grant Grove, with provisions, we decided to take it easy and try the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised and all enjoyed our selections taking back leftovers which provided useful the next evening. The menu is limited but there was enough selection for all tastes (2 vegetarians/1 omnivore in our party). It... More

First night we were here, did not know reservations were needed even though we were staying at the lodge but got a table in about 30 min. Food is good, service is friendly and wine is reasonably priced. They could easily add about 10 tables and a server to accommodate all of the lodge patrons without the reservation hassle. The... We stayed in another part of the park but made a point of eating two dinners here. The food was excellent, delicious BBQ pizza, vegetarian lasagna, flat iron steak, and more. Good service, tables spaced out for privacy, no rush, just a great place. I believe it was called the General Grant Dining Room but on the website I see... More

Frankly, it is the only place close by, but it is still quite good. The menu is a bit limited for dinner but shows creativity. We asked to share and were accommodated without an extra charge. The steak was a little overcooked.. We just tolerated it. Breakfast the next morning was creative and quite good.
