No doubt next year there will be a sparkling new restaurant. During our stay in October 2016 there was a food truck and a shop. The food court was closed and the lodge only served breakfast from a bar for $10. There was a good choice of cold food + items to toast or microwave and the best thing was... More

We were concerned about food since the Grant Grove Restaurant will be closed until 2017 and we were told that there is just a "food truck" here. It turned out better than we feared - their burgers were good (Giant Sequoia burger was huge, perhaps two 1/3 pound patties) and they had a good selection for a food truck (chili,... More

the restaurant and the hotel is little more modern than the kings canyon which is located 30 miles in the interior of the park. The restaurant was a small truck as a new restauantis being built

You have only two choices in Kings canyon: the food truck which replace the restaurant or buy pizza from the market. We choose the food truck and get burger with one side for 6.5 dollars, which is really inexpensive in a remote location like this. You can get two patties instead of one for four dollars more . Your choice..... More

The actual restaurant is being rebuilt this year - so there's a food truck serving much the same food. It's OK. It's not wildly expensive, given it has a virtual monopoly. The staff are from far flung places (like Ukraine) and while friendly, have very little idea of what they are doing. Chilli, soup and the garden salad are pretty... More

We stopped here during a stay at Sequoia/Kings Canyon. The only options in the area were this or pizza. We saw the pizza and wished we'd had gone that route, because it looked amazing. We both got burgers that were average. My husband got Mac and cheese as his side and was disappointed to get what appeared to be Kraft.... More

Grant Grove Restaurant is being renovated, so there is a food truck that is providing 'meals' for those staying in the park. Selection is halfway decent considering the circumstances, but several times when we ordered what we wanted, it was not available. Breakfast Burrito? no tortillas even though it was morning. Coleslaw? Asked for on 2 different days. 'No' both... More

In early season, it's not easy to get a hot meal without a lot of driving. So, this place is the only game in town. We had breakfast and it was OK. The staff were just getting revved up for the coming season and things were a little rough, but they were trying. Room temp was cold -- and the... More

We ate here because we had no other alternative. They had run out of a lot of dishes and they recommended that the chili was really good. It wasn't. It tasted like canned chili. We also ordered their mountain of fries - also gross and apparently straight out of a bag and sat under a heat lamp. We understand the... More
