The Bright Angel Fountain has some breakfast options, coffee, to-go lunches, and ice cream. After getting tired of cold bagels in our hotel room for breakfast for the previous two mornings, we got some breakfast burritos here after watching the sunrise. They were better than expected. We also treated our kids to ice cream cones from here at 11 am after hiking the Bright Angel Trail--that was the one time I could justify ice cream before lunch. :) During the morning shift, there was only one worker. I felt bad for her, but she kept things moving as fast as she could.

We got the ham and cheese sandwiches on pretzel bun with chips and an apple with a water container. The meal was fine but it was $15. I guess that comes with the territory of being in a National Park. I must say it was convenient - so theres that.

Great location being steps away from the rim. Be prepared to find parking an issue and wait times for a table. Service was just fair, with our waiter serving my beer in a very slow fashion, and after delivering our dinner, we had to request cutlery and napkins. Wife really enjoyed her chicken wings, and she is hard to please. While my hamburger patty was decent size and quality, the trimmings were stable. Also I never received ant sauce inside, nor was any brought to the table. However the worse part was that the hamburger bun was hard and dry.

I can't tell why they renamed this "Fred Harvey Burger" - maybe an attempt to dodge all of the terrible reviews for the old name? I never ate there under the "Bright Angel Restaurant" name, but I'll assume it was exactly as mediocre as the new one is. Service was incredibly slow despite the place being almost empty, food was bland, and the atmosphere was tired and dingy. We ate breakfast here the first morning of our stay and avoided it like the plague for the remainder of our time in the park.

We were pleasantly surprised to find tasty food choices at reasonable prices here despite the limited dining options. The cinnamon rolls really do deserve rave reviews with the chocolate croissants a very close second place. The roast beef and ham sandwich options were fresh and satisfying. The lines can be a challenge depending on the time of day but you can’t beat the view of the Canyon while you wait.

I know that the National Parks need funds to survie however you would think that the contents of a sandwich for $ 7.50 would weigh more than two ounces. It hardly made a dent in the hunger pangs. Although the value was terribel a funny thing happened while we were eating. My wife has gluten isssues and put some of her braea down next to here sill sort of in the wrapper. Perhaps 15 seconds pass and one of the famous Grand Canyon squirrels snagged it and ran away.

It’s very hard to get any kind of fast food or take-out food in Grand Canyon Village. We did manage to pick up hot dogs and sandwiches from The Fountain once by going there around 4 pm, and the hot dog was pretty good. The next day, we tried to get coffee there but the lines were incredibly long at both 1 and 2 pm (see picture). Other take-out options are Maswik Food Court (0.8 miles away) or Canyon Village Deli (take the shuttle, closes at 5 pm). I highly recommend packing a cooler with food and bringing it with you to the Grand Canyon.

We were seated rather quickly since there wasn't a line. We waited at the table watching servers walking around the room for about 15 minutes without any of them even acknowledging our presence. We didn't even have water to sip on, other than what we brought in ourselves.
So, we left.
I would love to include a review of the food, but...

We started at the South Rim and it was so crowded with families not wearing face masks. So we headed over to Bright Angel and I'm so glad we did. It was far less crowded and not many families, so it was quieter and much more pleasant. After hiking around we noticed that the Fountain Bar was open so we opted for some ice cream which was refreshing and delicious, I opted for the Peanut Butter in a Waffle Cone, I ate every bit!!! A great stop after a long day!

Ate there tonight, we knew it was going to be bad (reviews), but we were desperate. It did not disappoint. We had a burger and grilled chicken sandwich. The hamburger patty and chicken breast were both frozen and heated in microwave. Dairy Queen would have been fine dining compared to what we ate tonight. We had 4 nights at Bright Angel Lodge, but due to the food being awful at all the GC restaurants we are headed to Vegas. Such a shame they are unwilling to improve the food.

first off all as soon as I got the plate I was appalled by the dryness, it had no Parmesan and no actual sauce. It made me want to throw up half way through and I don’t think I can ever eat pasta again. Not to mention the meatballs were jelly textured and tasted like they were cooked in used gym socks water. Do you stomach a favour and do not subject it to this torture. Perfect place if your a maggot.

Outdoor window to order then…sit were you can. Had hot dogs sandwiches, drinks and ice cream. The line was long and then getting a bench in the shade was hit or miss. Squirrels were everywhere and could get aggressive for food if given a little bit.

We went for lunch and had 2 fish and chips and 2 beers which cost a whooping $61.90.
The fish was nice but the chips were overcooked and hard.
The service wasn't too bad throughout the meal, however I had barely finished my last forkful when our server placed the bill on the table.
We had wanted to order dessert but our bill was already given to us. When I explained this, the server hastily took back the bill putting it in her pocket insisting that we order dessert.
On principal I didn't want the dessert anymore, she continued to insist. In the end I had to be quite blunt, asking for our bill back. She apologised.
Bad experience, it appeared that they wanted the tables free quickly for more customers.
For the first time ever I did not tip our server.
I recommend you go somewhere else to eat.

We wanted to go here for a quick grab and go breakfast before doing Hermits Rest, hoping to get on an early shuttle. The soda fountain window was supposed to open at 7 AM. However, employees didn't even show up until about 7:08 and then still had to do all their opening procedures. To me, if it says it opens at 7, employees should be there by 645 so they can actually open on time. Additionally their oven wasn't working, so they had no food for about 20 min. So all told, we got our breakfast burritos after 730. Having said that, the burritos were very good.
Another thing to know is that they close this shop if it lightnings at all. I have no issue closing it for everyone's safety as the window is outside. However, they closed before 4 PM even though their hours are until 6. After no lightning for 30 min, it is considered safe to be back outdoors. This is from the NPS themselves. So I am not sure why they just called it quits for the day over two hours early. That was pretty frustrating and there is nowhere else around to get quick food or ice cream.

There are some vegan options and great margaritas. Go early if you want a table as it books up fast and when they run out of space on the waitlist you won't be able to be seated. We tried at 7:30 and they were full for the night. Not many other food options around without going into town so plan accordingly. Quality was better than expected for a park restaurant and good service.
