Firstly, dinner options in Grand Canyon Village are very limited to about 4/5 options, all of which seem to come under the same banner. We decided on the steakhouse one night as a treat. The service was very good but the food was average and at a price tag of $49 for a strip steak, potato and a few asparagus i would have expected better! Spaghetti shrimps were much better. As others have said there is no atmosphere or ambiance it’s a very plain cafe type restaurant with an unattractive open style kitchen. If you want a better atmosphere try El Tovar but again very expensive. The better option to experience ET is for breakfast which was excellent and obviously half the cost. The Rim is also lovely and peaceful at that time of the morning before the tourist train arrives.

We had dinner at this steak house overlooking the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Very attentive and fast service and very good meat. Prices are those from super tourist resorts, but for children instead they are very honest: hamburgers and chips for $6. Super recommended, book on the site so you avoid waiting for a table.

We had an amazing dinner here. Our waiter was great - friendly, attentive, and helpful. We had a table right at the window - can't get a better view than right at the edge of the canyon! Food was wonderful and our whole family enjoyed their orders. Really appreciated our waiter going out of the way to find gluten free bread (and heat it up!) for our son. Although the menu doesn't specifically say it - the steaks themselves are gluten free as long as you choose gluten free sides. Delicious meal - well worth the cost.

Horrible service and food. Spent 2 hours waiting on food when restaurant was only moderately busy. We had to ask for silverware, water refills and plates for the bread. Bartender came out of bar to remind waiter that our drinks had been sitting at the bar. When we caught the manager and asked why people who came in 30 minutes after us were being served before us he had trouble explaining. They then rushed my medium steak to compensate and it was served rare. All in all it was a horrible dining experience for us except for the bartender who seemed to be the only person who knew what he was doing.

Arizona Steakhouse was out of almost all of the menu! The waiter was rude & unapologetic about the situation. He did let an adult order off the kid's menu but served an extremely rare burger...but he never asked how I'd like it....which would have been cooked! Try the other restaurants before going here!

During our 9 day trip around the Grand Canyon, we spent a couple of days at the South Rim. Our first night, we stayed in Tusayan because they had closed all the South Rim hotels due to a water line break. However, they let the restaurants stay open. We had made reservations at Arizona Steakhouse before the water line issue, so we were on the books. We just had to drive up from our new hotel, which was less than 7 miles away, so no big deal. It was worth the trip up, as opposed to just doing dinner in Tusayan. My wife had the Shrimp Scampi, which was excellent. I had the Baby Back Ribs. The rib sauce was great, the ribs were okay. I've had awesome baby backs before, where the meat literally falls off the bone when you scrape it with a fork. Not so with these ribs. I had to cut and chew a little. The taste was good even with the extra effort. They also had some good selections on draft. I got hooked on the Oak Creek amber lager, and my wife the Prickly Pear cider, both of which we had several times over the course of our Grand Canyon tour. What really pushed me to a solid 4 star here, was the service. Caleb did a great job. He was extremely friendly and personable, was smiling every time he came to our table, and checked on us frequently enough. And sitting by a window looking right out at the canyon was amazing. This one was definitely worth the visit.

After a day of traveling and seeing the Canyon for the first time we were ready for an early dinner. We were hoping to catch the sunset after dinner but that did not work out. Matt took great care of us. The steaks were all cooked to perfection and wonderfully seasoned. The desserts were a bit of a disappointment. The apple crisp seemed to be lacking apples and the cheesecake was a little dry. Other than the desserts the entire experience from the view to the service to the food was wonderful.

Quick summary: well-prepared food in a casual place, overlooking the canyon. Fair prices for the quality. Friendly, professional service. We stopped in for lunch after viewing some of the canyon in the morning. The menu is mostly sandwiches and salads with a few plates, mostly in the range of high $teens to low $20's. After a short wait for a table, we split the brisket sandwich ($17, came with fries) and the Southwest Caesar salad ($12, but you can add protein for an upcharge.) All was fresh and tasty. I forget the price of soft drinks or a beer. Friendly, professional service. Airy, clean dining room with a view. Advised to get there a little before yo get REALLY hungry. This is a popular place in an area of limited options. We'd be happy to come again, and recommend it to friends.

This was a very poor meal. The title of the review sums it up. We had to send the tamale back since it was covered in some type of congealed tomato sauce. Our waitress didn’t seem surprised and she kindly removed it from the bill. The veggies that came with the steak were over cooked and some were hot and some where cold. Maybe they cook them in advance and microwave them? Given the few options available at the hotels in the park, we were not expecting anything close to gourmet food, but this really disappointed. Next time we will plan further in advance and try El Tovar’s dining room or just go to one of the burger or pizza places. On the plus side, we had a couple very good cocktails and the waitress was nice.

I had the salmon w rice and asparagus. The salmon and rice was very dry. I only ate the asparagus. Someone in our group had the pot roast with mashed potatoes and asparagus as the side. That was just so, so. The other 2 had the $52 steak and that was ok; but I thought TX Roadhouse does a better steak and was much more reasonable in price.

I’m being generous since the food and bar service was good. Front of house needs some serious work however. Firstly your website says that you don’t take reservations, only walk-ins. So we walked in and were asked if we had reservations. No, but we don’t need them! Sorry (despite the fact that there were over 10 empty tables) its a 30 minute wait. So, we walked up 8 steps to the bar and ordered a drink. My phone then received a message, less than 2 minutes later, that it was now a 50 minute wait. Still 8-10 empty tables inside a restaurant that doesn’t take reservations. Got talking to another couple who had exactly the same situation. 15 minutes later nobody had been seated, 3 or 4 groups had left and we were still waiting. Three or four other groups had entered, asked for seats and been told no and had left. Still 8-10 empty tables inside. Finally after another 10 minutes we and two other parties were seated. Still half a dozen empty tables. Guys, get your act together and provide a better, and more honest service. Be honest, then people will respect you. Lie to guests and your will lose all respect.

We ate at the Arizona Steakhouse because it was complimentary with our tour. Our group was limited to 6 people for two sittings over two days. The service was acceptable from the waiter, with a “hocker” hanging out of his nose, but there was little enthusiasm with the service. We had the Southwestern Caesar Salad ($14) and the NY Strip ($47). No complaints with the taste of the food but I feel sorry for the poor folks paying the price. We drank water but alcohol is pricy. Get ready to drop $120-$180 if you’re a paying patron. Views are nice but there is no atmosphere here.

Definitely not as advertised. Sorely in need of upgrades and staff training. Should also update website info. Reserved weeks in advance and took supposedly the only available reservation left on my Sweetheart’s birthday. Did get a table with a view as the place was only 40% occupied. Check in staff assured me they had a special ‘something’ in honor of the birthday. Never happened. Food was more Diner quality and served/presented with indifference by the server. I should have known better when I had to exchange the dirty silverware.

We didn’t have a reservation and only had a 10 min wait to be seated for dinner. We weee able to have a drink while waiting. The dining room has. Beautiful view of the Grand Canyon rim! We had the salmon and the tamales. Both were delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and came back to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Very nice experience!

Perhaps it needs a new name. We didn’t find any steak on the menu. We were glad we had a reservation as the lunch wait was quoted at 90 minutes when we were there. The view was spectacular which made the mediocre food taste much better. Service was friendly but scattered. It’s a bit overpriced, but did I mention the view?
