El Tovar Hotel and Dining Room are located on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. This iconic structure built of Oregon pine logs and local limestone and opened in 1905. We enjoyed lunch in the dining room while on a tour of the area. The food was excellent as was our service.

Husband and I had Breakfast at El Tovar which was included in our Caravan Tour. We were given a buzzer thing as they supposedly were crowded, so we had about a twenty minute wait. When we did finally get seated there were plenty of empty tables. I guess they have you wait so you can browse the gift shop with... More

We had one breakfast and one dinner at the El Tovar Dining Room and we enjoyed both. Food was excellent, service was impeccable. It was fun just to walk around the room noting the historic features and wonderful view.

When you come to the Grand Canyon South Rim the El Tovar is the nicest restaurant and the only one that takes reservations, so planning in advance is essential if you want to eat at a reasonable time. I made my reservations 6 months in advance and we had a delightful, stressless, delicious experience. We were staying at the El... More

We had dinner at the El Tovar and the food was pretty good and service was fine. This review, however is about the hilariously bad service at breakfast. When we arrived at the front desk we could see the mostly empty dining room beyond. We asked for a table and waited while the maitre 'd negotiated with a server. This... More

If you can get a reservation, for me a must do when visiting the Grand Canyon. You can request a reservation a month before your arrival if you are not staying at El Tovar Lodge, otherwise if you are at El Tovar, you can do so immediately.

If you're going to the Grand Canyon south rim for several days, your best bet for a good meal is at the El Tovar (especially breakfast, which they do wonderfully). You need reservation for dinner; breakfast and lunch are first come. The dining room is spectacular, as is the entire lodge. The service and the food, however, are just average.... More

Due to the hotel being very full we could only get a reservation for dinner at 9h30 pm so I could not do a full meal justice. My husband did, having the pork chops with apple sauce and I had two starters - very good brown onion soup au gratin and crab stack. Lovely service from our waiter who chatted... More

Love the pancake trio. The lunch has a pretty good house salad, often great rolls. The portabella burger was once great once cold, The tricolor tortellini for meat eaters is a good deal for this kind of restaurant. 20% of time we had a poor result and the rest we were really happy with. yes you pay for the location,... We loved our dinner and the service. Excellent menu choices and attentive staff. Prices were in line with other fine dining restaurants. I had chicken and my husband had steak. Both good choices and generous, but not overwhelming, portions. Make reservations if you are planning a trip to the Grand Canyon.
