We loved this restaurant, the food was good , the views spectaular. They had a good children's menu . The desserts were heaven. Friendly staff . Make sure you make a reservation as it was busy.

We had made reservations prior to leaving home for our vacation, and made it to the hotel to check in just a few minutes before our dinner reservations. I went straight to the Hostess, and asked if we could have a few minutes to check in, take things to our room and change before returning for dinner. She graciously said... More

Had breakfast here. Was very excited, as I heard it was really good and that there was so much history to see. The history was great...the service was not. We had a mediocre breakfast with horrendous service. When we wanted to leave, we could not find our server, who did a disappearing act. After 15 minutes, we left, and he... More

Our first impression was not good, the employees were arguing and took a minute for anyone to great us. But after that Jason is a gem. The food is good. Everyone had full portions and other then staffing issues there was nothing wrong with food.

Best restaurant in the South Rim. But be selective with your choices. Stick to steaks and duck. Nice desserts. Beautiful dinning hall. Must reserve in advance, unless you want to it after 8pm

Glorified high school cafeteria food that is outrageously priced. Let's face it, you can for the view not the food. Best to just move on...

We ate here as we were staying in the hotel. The style is in keeping with the rest of the hotel with a lot of dark wood and depictions of Native American ceremonies on the wall. Although the restaurant is large and it was pretty full we were served promptly. Our server was friendly and efficient without being obtrusive. The... More

Made reservations ahead of time as part of our trip planning approximately 8 months ahead of time-- however, I'm fairly sure walk-ins could have been accommodated with a wait. Nice wine selections, menu that pleased the family-- including both meat eaters and vegetarians. Service here and all around El Tovar was excellent.

We had dinner at El Tovar at South Rim, Grand Canyon and it was a memorable, fun visit. We tried to stay at El Tovar but they were sold out; however, we did secure a reservation outside the park in Tusayan and took the shuttle into the park. After spending a day in the park, we made reservations (a must)... More

We couldn't stay at the lodge as it was booked several months ahead of time, but I did make dinner reservations for the 2 nights we stayed in the Grand Canyon (non guests can do this 30 days in advance). Our family of 4, including 2 adult children and one with Celiac disease, loved our meals. We were especially pleased... More
