A truly historic hotel. The food is imaginative and well prepared. Superb service. Nice wines. Elegant but not snobby. Great view. So glad we reserved dinner!!

El Tovar is a little more expensive than the other restaurants in Grand Canyon village but the atmosphere and views are worth the expense. We ate one dinner and one breakfast here during our stay. The service was exceptional and the food was tasty. There was a wide selection of wines available. Note: Reservations for dinner is strongly recommended.

We sat in the lounge for a drink and to have an appetizer. Service took forever - about 15 minutes to be greeted, then finding our server was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. We ordered the vegetarian chili on a bed of rice; the rice was so undercooked, we couldn't actually chew pieces of it. We... More

We had dinner here at sunset and it was incredible. The views were spectacular. The food and service were great. You will need to make reservations for dinner here. If you are not staying at the hotel, you can only make them a month in advance. Recommended.

We had two very good dinners here--and the amazing sunsets seen from the dining room push the restaurant into a dining must! A decent wine list, to boot!

Try to get a window seat early evening so you can look out at the Canyon. Did that first night and was brilliant. Great meal first night and good service. OK meal second night and mediocre service. Also, later and too dark outside to appreciate the view.

We've dined at El Tovar many times before, but last week was very special since we reserved the Roosevelt room for a group of friends. The menu included a seafood special, and buffalo tenderloin in addition to their regular impressive menu. The service was impressive.

Had the buffalo tenderloin, amazingly tender, cooked and glazed perfectly, served with sides of mashed potatoes and whole baby carrots. Service was excellent, tho a little hectic because the restaurant was PACKED. Call ahead, RESERVATIONS FOR DINNER ARE A MUST! We stayed at the El Tovar so we had breakfast here too. Excellent. Pricing appropriate for fine dining. Recommended.

For a place that receives 6 million visitors a year, it is mind boggling that there are literally NO good restaurants here. Except for El Tovar. It has incredible views, a polite and accommodating wait staff and good food. We required vegetarian and vegan food and were able to eat very good meals here that were well prepared and tasty.... The El Tovor Lodge was a nice place to eat. We had lunch there, the service was good, as was the meal. I found the menu a little limited but that was just my taste.
