Had a nice quiet romantic dinner @ the Main Dining Room. Excellent presentation/food and ambience. Recommend having dinner later to avoid the kids

When we checked in to our hotel (Thunderbird Lodge), the staff recommended either the Arizona Room (in Bright Angel) or El Tovar if we were looking for a so-called fine dining experience. So we booked a table at the latter. Big mistake. The prices are...More

You will need reservations. The dining room was elegant. The wine was good. The service was exceptional. I had duck and it was fabulous. My wife had fish and it was nothing special. That means that this is a mixed review. The experience of being...More

This was a great restaurant to eat at as we stayed at El Tovar that weekend. There is a strong rustic atmosphere yet with a very classy touch. The waiters were excellent and showed off a true sense of fine dinning etiquette. Rick specifically was...More

I just want to talk about the condiments. Prickly Pear butter, or Pine Nut butter? I couldn't decide. Then there is the syrup: prickly pear syrup! Yum!

There's a view of the rim from the restaurant. It is a nice view but limited to the tables near the window. Thus, if you sit elsewhere in this large establishment you will not have a view of the Canyon.
