Parks 229 is one of the classier dining options near Denali Park, although my experience there was hit-and-miss. I had read many good things about it prior to my latest trip to Denali and was excited to check it out, but maybe I had my expectations set too high... The good: The ambiance was great- the interior is simple, but... More

Hands down this is the best in Alaska! Locally sourced ingredients, eclectic menu, fresh and thoughtful options for the carnivore, pescaterian, vegetarian, and GF, alike! Great wine selection and great ambiance. In addition to dinner, the Sunday brunches are excellent! Keep it up 229 Parks!!

This resturant was recommended by a local. Not you typical tourist commercial eats. Simple open space, no alcohol is served just wine and beer. The food was so delisious we went back a second night. I'm from NYC and this resturant lived up to my high expectations YUM!!!

Excellent meal and not to far from the entrance to Denali Park. Very clean modern interior- not typical Alaskan lodge. We had the pork belly appetizer and duck entree. Both were cooked perfectly. Had the affogato for desert.

I come here to get away from the crazy high volume restraints in the canyon. Laura the owner is fantastic and takes pride in every ounce of ingredient that is put into this menus. Thank you!

This is a very small restaurant-12 tables I think, so if you are interested, make a reservation or you won't get in! we went on a Wednesday and it was booked up solid. The food here is completely unique--their commitment to locally harvested and grown food sources is evident. My husband had the Fresh Alaska Oysters (which he LOVED), I... More

We toured Alaska on a Regent Cruise, with an additional rail/bus tour up to Denali after we landed in Seward. We had dinner at 229 towards the very end of our vacation, and discovered the best meal of the entire trip! Two of us had the Reindeer Ragu, another two had the Alaskan Black Cod, and my wife had the... More

Our best meal during a two week trip to Alaska. Really excellent. Wonderful fresh ingredients, creatively cooked and very nicely presented. I had a beautifull piece of king salmon with sweet peas, potatoes and a poached egg. My wife got black cod with horseradish sauce and broccoli. We shared a yellow beet salad and a dessert of blue berries, nectarines,... More

We took our parents here for dinner while visiting the National Park. Food was absolutely spectacular. We ordered the mussels, rockfish, and the king salmon. The salmon was cooked to perfection! The rockfish with chorizo was full of flavor. For dessert, we had a scoop of espresso ice cream, which was awesome too

Several friends had recommended we eat here, they were all right! Best meal we have had in Alaska! Reasonably priced, good service, lovely atmosphere. We will return!
