We love our coffee relatively strong and they were quite good. We went back 3 times. They offer healthy food options and some take away ptoducts. Vegan and gluten free options were available.

You have to realize that Denali is sort of a rustic place and the Black Bear was a welcome treat. You go in the door of this log cabin looking place and you see a counter filled with homemade cakes that rivals some of the...More

My husband and I are gluten-free, which can be challenging when travelling. What a lovely surprise it was for us to find this great little coffee shop that has homemade pastries, including gluten-free options that are delicious! Apparently the owner has children that need to...More

WOW! It's small but well run but a good team of friendly folks. Everything made not the premises. Try their bacon, egg and cheese biscuit! Puts McD's to shame. You won't be sorry. Good coffee, pastries and other things as well.

Very nice place. A most for a cup of coffee after a Day in Denali. Good latte and the homemade chocolate cookies were perfect.

Drinks were so amazing, the food was average with the exception of the avocado toast. Highly recommend the avocado toast!

Great coffee. The place is tiny. But we got a table. The cinnamon roll was to die for as was the scone. The breakfast were normal size and filling. The breakfast sandwich with a homemade biscuit was delicious. Highly recommend.

We had a great breakfast here after getting a recommendation from a couple on the shuttle. Avocado toast was excellent! We’re from Florida and we’re amazed at the perfectly ripened avocados. It takes a lot of care and timing to make this happen in Alaska!...More

During our 3 weeks in America in Florida, New York, Cape Cod and Seattle we have found it difficult to obtain a really good espresso served in a "real cup" not paper! Would you believe it in the tiny village of Denali we found such...More

Description
The Black Bear is the place to go for hand crafted, delicious food. Voted BEST CAFE IN ALASKA by Food Network, we proudly stand behind all that we do. Black Bear serves brunch every day until 3pm with delicious offerings such as biscuits & gravy, benedicts and classic egg breakfasts, BBQ pulled pork sandwiches on house brioche, burgers (both beefy and vegan) and our famous smoked gouda mac & cheese. Dinner offers something for everyone, from our vegan gluten-free coconut curry to wild Copper River coho salmon, braised short ribs and fresh handmade pasta with locally foraged morels. We love to find the best local and seasonal Alaskan products and bring them to the people. We offer a full espresso bar, crafting locally roasted SteamDot coffee, as well as shakes and fresh fruit smoothies. You can expect fresh pastries coming out of our in-house bakery throughout the day (some vegan, gluten-free too). And our deli case is always full of quick grab and go items to take on your adventures. If you're coming off a busy day, just grab a local beer or glass of wine to enjoy while you linger on our deck, breathe deep and take in the mountains. Black Bear offers something for everyone, whether you are on an indulgent dream vacation, or keeping on the healthy side. Locals love us, and you will too.
