The choice on the buffet was identical every night. Very repetitive. Same for the salad bar. Some serving staff were very pushy expecting a big tip, even though if you had the buffet you had served yourself, they just took the order and brought you...a glass of water. One evening a waiter actually returned our cash tip to us, it obviously was below his expectations for ding virtually nothing. There’s no where else close by to eat so you are basically stuck with the offering, which does at times feel like a canteen partly because rather than spread people out they cram them into one areas at a time.More
Food selection and quality is about average, although I do like their salad bar and soups especially during the winter months. Service is friendly, but can be a bit slow. Prices are fair. They serve a limited selection of wine during lunch and dinner.
After leaving Cedar City, Utah in the early morning we postponed breakfast until we arrived at the Ruby Inn Restaurant. The breakfast is $13.00, all you can eat and has a nice selection. Typical scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruit, French toast, bacon, link sausage,...etc. The food was good and filing.More
My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the Best Western Rubys Inn. We had 1 dinner, and 2 buffet breakfasts during our stay. For dinner I got some kind of hot hamburger plate. A hamburger on perhaps Texas toast, then smothered with a mushroom...and onion gravy. On the plate were mashed potatoes, and green beans. I really wanted to like it, but it lacked flavor. The mashed potatoes, and the green beans were pretty good. It was a decent sized plate of food. The 2 breakfast buffets we had were just the opposite. Plenty of hot options, and a nice selection of fruit, along with cottage cheese. I thought the biscuits, and sausage gravy, was very tasty. I really enjoyed those breakfasts. I would certainly do that again.More
Stopped in for the breakfast buffet. Great cowboy atmosphere and decor. The scrambled eggs, salsa, sausage, and French toast were all good. Plenty of condiments and fruit juices available. The sausage gravy was below average but overall, Ruby's is very nice. Recommended.
I was a little concerned because of some poor reviews on here, but our experience was excellent! One of the best things was our server , David, from Romania. He was professional, friendly and anticipated our needs. We had the soup and salad bar for...dinner and the breakfast buffet (that was included in with our room) for breakfast. Food was basic faire but well prepared and there were a variety of choices.More
Just came back from the restaurant. Never ever ate such bad food in my entire life. I did order a hot hamburger but got a sandwich with burger or whatever it was. People please don’t go here
Service was poor. Neither the front desk clerks nor the restaurant staff were welcoming. The restaurant was practically empty when we arrived and the hostess did not want to be bothered to seat us. She focused on her nails and urged a young preteen to...seat us. Despite several empty tables the young child refused to seat us by the window stating that he had to seat us in a particular section. The restaurant wasn’t very big so seating us anywhere should not have presented a problem for the wait staff. We waited several minutes for service, until I got up and went to the front desk to ask for service. There were 3 staff talking and laughing loudly in Spanish and just stared at me when I asked for service. Finally one of the guys broke the trace and said that he would be there in a minute. I gave this place 2 stars because we got some semblance of service. The food in the buffet had been sitting out for a long time. The rolls were cold and crusty. Would not go back there again.More
Went here with our friends from Florida. They and my wife had the buffet but I opted for the New York steak. Came with mashed red potatoes and veggies. Steak was nice and thick - one inch and cooked perfectly. Potatoes were very good as...well. Veggies - ah - just normal. Meal also comes with a visit to the salad bar.More
When visiting Bryce Canyon NP your food options aren't great. In the park you get very expensive lodge dining or rolling wiener sandwich convenience gas station options. So you look elsewhere, and that means the commercial city of Ruby and its dining. The main restaurant...offers buffet and menu service. The buffet is bland food that is filling but not satisfying. The menu is tourist expensive Ruby's also offers a fast food alternative, but fast is a matter of opinion, lots of waiting and the food is not up to McDonald's standards. Have visited the park many times and the trend is not encouraging Try the options you get in Tropic or by doing a Google search and drive 10-15 minutes from the park.More
Food was good, but a little variety would be nice. Maybe even a different breakfast meat on the buffet line for a little change.
Dining options in Bryce are even more limited than the lodging. If you are staying at Ruby's, then it's real easy. We did but I'm not sure if I'd do it again. Read on for details. Arriving early for dinner (which was a good thing...because it got real busy, monopolies being what they are), we werea attended to by an attentive waiter. The vegetarian in our group ordered the grilled cheese, which arrived with bacon, which was unacceptable. The fish tacos featured scant quantities of dried/fried fish and was bone dry. A suitable salsa, or two would have been nice/appropriate. Instead, they serve a couple tablespoons of an incendenary green sauce that would be acceptable to only the most hard-core pepper fans. The salad bar was solid with a nice array of fresh veggies and toppings. The buffet looked expansive and generic. Next time I'm staying at Ruby's, I'll drive to the Subway.More
We ate here for both dinner and breakfast. Pros: Bigger breakfast buffet than your average hotel breakfast. If you stay at Ruby's Inn breakfast is included with your room. In the evening, the sandwich I ordered from the menu was delicious. Both times we ate...here, our servers were efficient. Cons: My husband was less than excited about the dinner buffet. The food was not as good as he would have expected for the price. Some of it was even cold.More
It's true, you don't have a lot of food options in the area. That being said, for a simple breakfast buffet option, for a couple coming back from a sunrise hike, it did the job. If you come to Bryce you will have only simple...mass produced food options so don't expect fine dining. You are here for the scenery... you eat at places like this, and Subway. This place did the job and hit a decent price point. And Ruby's is a fun place to browse the shops. Go in with a reasonable expectation and you'll be fine!More
