Ruby Inn, cowboy Restaurant - nice atmosphere, and it’s set up for big volume in the summer, was not so busy for dinner, we had the soup and salad bar, for $12.95 not much selection but soup was delicious, and for the price was good value. they tag 18% without informing us, that’s no so good, as we tipped twice, when I questioned it, they claimed European don’t tip..maybe so, but customers should be told.

We where staying at Ruby’s hotel and in Bryce during the off season (so very limited options for food around). Out of ease we chose this restaurant. There were 3 options available: Unlimited soup and salad buffet Full buffet or A la carte We went for the soup and salad as the selection was decent. They offered two warm soups a standard tomato and a fish soup. The fish soup was packed with fish. The food was not amazing but it would fill a hungry stomach happily. For the salad and soup it was 12.99 so good value for the amount you could eat. The only thing I would not recommend was the French fries we took on the side. They were not really French fries, edible but barely fried slices of potatoes. It’s simple but decent enough food.

We ate here at the recommendation of a neighboring hotel. Our experience was just ok. Obviously COVID-19 has altered how restaurants must do business so we expected things to be different. The salad bar is what shocked me. Most dinners come with a small salad but you are given a bowl and told to head to the salad bar. There are signs asking each patron to wear a glove. I witnessed several people just handle the serving utensils without a glove. I would have preferred a salad prepared in the kitchen. The buffet was obviously closed so we ordered from the menu. The menu was ok but most items felt over priced which is typical for this area. The food was disappointing. We ordered halibut tacos and were disappointed to receive tacos made with minced breaded halibut (maybe) fillets that were very thin and sliced into strips after cooking. The fish did not taste good and was very cold. Both who ordered this were disappointed and did not eat more than one taco. My husband ordered the country fried steak and the steak was ice cold when it arrived. My son ordered the spaghetti alfredo and he was the only one happy at the end of the meal. Two of my children ordered off the kids menu which provided generous portions.. The service was a bit slow but sufficient. We have read all of the other positive reviews and were surprised to leave disappointed in the food quality..

I know we are trapped in a captive market in Bryce Canyon City in Winter but this meal was just awful. The food- I don't think it could have been prepared with any less love. The pasta dishes seemed to be straight from a packet and the alledgedly cooked to order steak & chicken were simply thrown on a grill then on to a plate, no seasoning, garnish or flavour The service- Our server claimed it was her 1st night but that's no excuse for her incompetence. Meals delivered at different times, drinks taken away while still half full, no water offered. I could go on........ To top it off the meal was ridiculously expensive- $120 for 4 people. Total ripoff!!! Stay away!!!!!!! No idea what the fast food/pizza place is like but it couldn't be any worse and you wouldn't feel quites as scammed

Considering this place is tucked in the middle of no where, the prices and experiences are wonderful, not to mention the very close proximity to the park. Ruby's offers e'thing, rental of equipment, store, backpack/hiking essentials, hot tub/pool. The breakfast buffet that comes with the room is plentiful and offers a wonderful variety for all palates. The rooms are clean and the soap they use is not cheap. The lobby is comfy with comfy chairs and a fireplace. Also, they are dog friendly at $10/dy,very reasonable. We are on the road for 10 wks, this us our best so far. Even refueling your vehicle is at a fair price, especially as we consider heading further south towards Zion and JTree.

No hot food buffet due to Covid-19, only Soup and Salad. I find that a cop-out given other places have buffets but it is served instead of self-serve. Given that they provided gloves for everyone to use on the tongs for the salad fixings I don't see why they couldn't do the same for a hot line. We had the Soup/Salad bar. Your choices are two soups and a very minimal salad bar. We had to dig around in the lettuce to find enough without brown wilted leaves. There were 3 dressings, Ranch, Blue and Oil/Vinegar and all for the price of $30 for two. We avoided the menu food mostly because it was WAY overpriced for what it was and after looking at other diners plates not worth it. The tables are very close together, no social distancing here that's for sure! One good thing though, the staff were friendly (albeit slow) and wore masks.

Pretty much what can be expected in a tourist city with so few dining options. We arrived for dinner on Wednesday evening a little before 6, were seated in a booth as requested, and I ordered the 6oz fillet with side of french fries ($30) and my partner ordered a lower priced steak with bake potato as side and wine. Plusses: Service is by and large attentive with some minor exceptions, Prices are not high for a tourist area. Restaurant itself is designed well, My partner loved his baked potato. and a self service salad bar is included. Minuses: First few bites of my steak were good but soon noticed the over salty taste, fries were not really fries but more like potato chips, and both entrees came with bland tasting (canned?) green beans. no steak sauces are provided on the table or offered by the server. Concern: I understand this is a green county by Utah covid 19 standards, but it is a tourist county by and large. While staff wears masks no hand sanitizers are provided at the table, social distance seating proximity seems close, and while gloves are provided at salad bar they are not readily apparent and we were not forewarned

This is my first review ever. Ate dinner at “Cowboy’s Buffet” and because of COVID it was not a buffet. They had their modified menu online but did not have the prices. My family of 5 went excited to eat a steak meal. The 6 oz tenderloin steak meal was $30. We just expected since This was a “Steak Room” restaurant that it was going to be a good meal. We don’t mind spending money on good food. The meal came with a salad from the salad Bar. It was bagged lettuce. The meal came with rolls. They were the store bought rolls that all come connected. The steak meal was requested medium rare. Everyone’s came back medium well. The sides were literally canned green beans and instant COLD mashed potatoes. My daughter ordered macaroni and cheese and it cost $4.49 and it was Kraft MAC and Cheese. Our meal cost $112. So disappointed. Ruby Inn owns everything close by so there is literally no other choice so they don’t really care. I wish we would have gotten groceries and taken them to our room. Our room included breakfast. The only choice is 2 scrambled eggs, hash browns, 1 piece of toast, a drink, and two pieces of bacon. If you wanted anything else you had to pay for it. No cereal, yogurt or anything else. Highly disappointing.

Took my daughter to this place for dinner after a day of hiking and it was the only place open in town near Bryce. The service was poor. The server never came back once to see if everything was OK after the "food" was served, nor did she ever clear dishes or even stop so I could ask for a refill on my water. As for the food everything tasted like it frozen, boxed, or bagged. The chicken wings were more like from a pigeon, and my daughter was charged $4.99 for a bowl of rice that was worse than store bought boxed rice. Side salad? $3.99 Moral of the story? Bring your own food if staying in Bryce or allow enough time to drive to Tropic. AVOID THIS PLACE!

Worst place ever! We asked if they could make us buffalo wings plain, with no sweet sauce on them. They assured us it was no problem. It was a take out order, so we got the boxes and took them to the hotel. When we opened the box, it was filled with the sticky slimy sweet sauce to the point that the wings were literally swimming in it! No celery, no carrots as stated in the menu and as wings usually served everywhere. Just the wings in the sauce. My husband is diabetic, so he couldn’t eat any of that and stayed hungry. I tried one, and it was disgusting, not only because of the sweetness, but also because the wings were over burnt and very, very dry. The portabella mushroom I ordered was tasteless, and I didn’t finish it either. Do not recommend this place. Find something better!

We visited during Covid times and they handled it great. We got a salad from the salad bar - not a lot of choices but it was fresh. The restaurant serves the best coconut shrimp I've ever had and I've had it all over the world! The ribs were also amazing! We had baked potatoes and green beans with our entrees. The green beans were canned or frozen but tasted good. It's probably hard to get fresh veggies that far out in the middle of nowhere but our meal was delicious, especially the shrimp! We appreciated the breakfast boxes handed to us as we left to visit Bryce. We ate them at the southern end of the park - Yovimpa Point - and watched 10 bucks walk past. There was plenty of good food for breakfast.

After a day in Bryce Canyon National Park, our family decided to get take out from Ruby’s inn restaurant. We ordered right at 5pm (when they open for dinner) and was told it would take 20 mins. Pick up was as promised and checkout was quick and easy. Food was good; our group had pork chops, grilled shrimp, and mushroom ravioli. Everyone enjoyed their meals. My only suggestion to them would be to have the prices on their website menu. Warning takeout orders are automatically charged and 18% gratuity. There is a sign at the checkout which we did see before we paid. Not an issue for us just wanted to mention it. If we were to be in the area again would not hesitate to eat here.

I put us on the wait list via online link from their website. I was notified via text our table was ready. We walked in and I told the host that I was on the waitlist and gave him my name. He proceeded to tell me that that meant nothing to him. I just walked away because I didn't know what to say to that. My husband explained we needed a table. We were seated. Service was kinda blah. Mainly it was the prices for what you get that are so offensive. We expected high prices because it's a tourist trap. Gross and tasteless soup at the salad bar likely from a big foil pouch. It was 15.00 for what I can only compare to a Walmart frozen pizza and everything else was probably frozen microwave meals based on how quick we got our food. Overall just kind of gross.

We got the to-go to eat outside for dinner and it was terrible. After our food never showed for pick up, someone went back and "found" it but by then it was cold. The plasticwear was so cheap that 2 of our 4 forks broke. There was a 18% service fee on our $80 meal and we couldn't even decent plasticwear or hot food. The breakfast buffet was better with lots of options and good service.
