Avli Restaurant (Yard of Taste) is the first on the island of Zakynthos to serve innovative dishes with fresh, organic ingredients for vegans, gluten free fans and people who enjoy delicious food in general. The owner, Giota Papadopoulou puts all her love and care, as well as her knowledge and experience as a personal trainer into creating and serving each dish.

This restaurant is one of the most worth visiting ones in town. Been there early in the afternoon, it was a quiet and cozy place, with a nice decoration.
Every dish we had was made with passion- they were very tasty and cooked without too much oil or butter. It's a really good choice for a healthy way of feasting.
You've got to try the beef steak, perfectly roasted and succulent, along with the mashed sweet potatoes (see in photos). Also the grilled talagani (also in photos) served with the forest fruits jam was an exceptional dish.
Overall, we had a very welcoming culinary experience, with really well cooked dishes and for a fair price.

Food was fantastic and came out quite fast (though restaurant was very quiet at the time). Had mushrooms and “appetiser of the day” for starter then pork and imperial salad for dinner and profiteroles for dessert.
All fantastic dishes. Varying portion size and price. Got a bottle of wine to share and total bill came to €80 which is very reasonable for 2 people 3 course meal.
Owner and waiter were lovely.

We have been waiting for this restaurant to open so I could take my partner after initially visiting in 2018. It was better than I remembered. The waiter was very attentive and he knew everything about the dishes he was offering. We had delicious bread and dip followed by a starter which was recommended to us. The flavours were increble and really complimented the dishes we chose. The owner was very personal which was lovely, and shared her time between each and every table. We opted for the house wine, which although we would have preferred something better, it was absolutely delicious!!! The place has such a nice feel. We were undecided about our desert but decided on the bannoffee, saving the chocolate one for next time. Everything from start to finish was perfect and we cannot wait to visit again.

We were recommended to go to this restaurant, as we had enquired about places which offered Vegan and Vegetarian options, but not necessarily exclusively. We were looking for a little more than the Kleftiko and Souvlaki and Greek Salad offering at most of the other venues in Zakinthos.
The owner is lovely, hands-on, elegant and passionate about her beautiful place. The food is delicious, the service impeccable, super friendly and they tell you all about each dish, so you know exactly what you're getting with a delight that's welcoming and satisfying.
Thoroughly recommend. It's a must.

It is a great restaurant, cosy and classy. We had the muschrooms and talagani for starters and the steak for main with vegetables and pepper sauce. All the dishes were perfect and tasted great. Lastly, they serve complimentary dessert.
On the plus side, the owner who is also the executive chef is very very friendly and eager to help you decide, making eating there a pleasurable experience.
Definitely visit the restaurant!

Do not go here for vegan/vegetarian food! I went to Taste of Yards with really high expectations. I was a bit shook by the prices knowing I have been eating good veggo Greek food for some items even half the price. The portions were really small. The quinoa salad (11euro) was drowning in dressing. I hate wasting food but this was disgusting and I could not eat it. It got too busy (and hot), so I assume that is why the waiter got sloppy and did not check up on our food. Once my boyfriend had finished his food we decided to pay the bill and leave the restaurant, still feeling very hungry and without any compensation from the waiter, even though I told him nicely I did not like it when he took my plate (still full). There are so many nice places to eat in Zakynthos which have amazing service and charge you little. I have been a restaurant manager for five years and I would not recommend Yard of Taste restaurant. It is too expensive, bad quality food and bad service. The water was great though.

The staff is super friendly, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The food is exquisite, and there are excellent vegan options, just ask the manager! She is super friendly and passionate about food, very lovely to talk to and if you ask she gives tailored suggestions for your dishes. Totally recommend, we even returned twice!

We ordered a quinoa salad and chocolate cake, and it was so delicious, healthy and full of nutritions! I can’t remember when I had such a good and tasty meal like this. Definitely the best restaurant in Zakynthos. The chef is very nice and interior of the restaurant is beautiful. Highly recommended!

we came from the beach in the middle of the day and stopped at a short lunch. the staff is so friendly that you immediately fall in love with this place, but when you come with top quality food and a glass of good wine .... mmmmm it’s nothing better than that! we will definitely be back for dinner!

An extremely expensive restaurant with just normal food. The one liter bottle of water costs 3€. The portions are very small, we paid 23€ for all average dish of shrimp pasta that was half a normal portion. For standards of other European countries these can be normal prices/quality, but thankfully in Greece and specifically Zakynthos there are restaurants really worth it that offer an amazing service. All in all, I would propose to (especially Greek) people with high standards to avoid this restaurant. It was a disappointment.

We came across that restaurant while strolling in the small streets behind the central square. When peeping inside, we liked the decoration, so we went in and took a table. Well, we returned three nights in a row! The food is excellent, Yota, the owner, is a lovely lady who will do whatever it takes to please her clientele (she speaks English) and the bill is very reasonable with respect to the quality and quantity!

Unfortunately we couldn't get a place outside because you are supposed to book it in advance, otherwise you'll get a place inside which is also good but in the summer could be a little too warm. Anyway they were so nice that they eventually managed to find a place for us to enjoy our dessert outside. The food is absolutely amazing, you can really taste the quality of the food, especially if compared to what the rest of the island offers. It's really on another level, they literally put effort in each dish. We were also happy to drink the local wine, personally, really recommended. Prices are totally fine for what you get!!

The atmosphere and the decoration is great. The food was delicious. The seasonal appetizer with fig and feta cheese was simply delicious, refreshing, with summer flavours. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they explained everything with details about every dish we ordered. Even the chef/owner came to our table and talk about the dishes and explain how they were prepared. We had a lovely evening:)

3rd time we came to this restaurant over 10 days. We expected to be served like the other times except that this time, we waited more than an hour before having our dishes despite a small feta offered in house (nice). When our food arrived, everything was fine until I discovered a worm in my plate of black exotic pork. Disgusting!!! This disgusted my friends who had ordered semi raw tuna. We reported it and the waiter who looked like the manager, downplayed it. He confirmed that the worm was from a plant and therefore less disgusting, that it happens from time to time. This is still UNACCEPTABLE!!! We had to ask for a 50% discount and we remain deeply disappointed and a bad experience of our last night. And also of this poor justification of the manager.

First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to write this review and for visiting our restaurant 3 times. This means that you and your company had an excellent experience from our offered quality and service.
Regarding the unfortunate event of your third visit, as we told you then, it should not have happened and we apologize once more. It was on the ornamental plant and we should have removed it.
For this reason we immediately replaced the dish, which we saw that you liked quite a lot, and you got a 50% discount on your total bill, without asking us, wanting to leave you with a pleasant experience once again.
We hope to see you again soon at our site, discuss the unfortunate event, and tell us your opinion on how we can become even better. We are always open to hear the views of our visitors.
