We have been going to Loweswater for the past 7 years always taking time to visit the Kirkstile Inn on our first night for a meal with friends. They have never failed to please, providing good quality ,mostly local, food at reasonable prices. A traditional pub with log fire and oak beams, the atmosphere is warm and laid back

We called into the Kirkstile hoping for a warm meal after a day out in the cold. Despite it being very very busy the waiter ensured he found us a table and we were comfortable and happy. We both had steak pie. The food came quickly and was very good, beautifully home cooked fresh food. The bill was reasonable. Will... More

A bit out of the way but if you are int he vicinity, well worth a visit. The pub is a proper old style pub, not an awful modern gastropub. The food menu is extensive and the food good pub grub. There is a good range of superb ales to drink locally brewed all with Lake District themed names. Excellent,... More

Another fabulous Sunday lunch here on the Sunday before Christmas. The food and beer were up to their usual excellent standards. As a party of 8 we ate in the dining room with its cosy ambience with open fires and white tablecloths. The steak and ale pie ,tatie pot and fish and chips were perfect winter comfort food. The desserts... More

Lunched here today with husband and dog. We were all made very welcome. Roaring log fire and friendly staff even though the place was heaving with customers. The food was brilliant. Highly recommended for people with dogs who enjoy reasonably priced food. We will be back!

We spent a couple of nights at this Inn and found it very much met our expectations. We were seeking a country inn in the Lake District away from the main tourist areas serving hearty walkers food and a nice pint after a day winter walking. Well, this fitted the bill very well with a warm and cosy bar and... More

Love calling in here after a long walk in the lakes. Always busy and some of the best beers available in the area. The food is expensive and average to be fair but the atmosphere with the real fire has to core high.

Called in for dinner on a chilly evening. Cosy atmosphere, helpful and professional bar staff. Food was excellent and service friendly and prompt. One to revisit.

Stayed here recently for our joint birthday celebrations. Have been before but this time we stayed four nights. The room was sweet and had a great view from the lounge, Malbreak looming large. Breakfast, taken on the terrace, was great and very generous in size. Dinner was exceptional. I had steak twice in the week and it was sumptuous. Perfectly... More
