We have been here for a drink after visiting the abbey and then booked a different evening for dinner. We came up and on that night it wasn't very busy so we had a nice table with a good view. You can see down to the sea and the abbey lit up as a backdrop. The service and food was very good and we went for the lamb rack that is a speciality where the chef does a showpiece with flames as he cooks. ( Basically throwing salt onto the flames. they were delicious.

There’s no denying the views from this restaurant over looking Kyrenia to the sea are fantastic unfortunately there is little else to recommend the place, the service was very slow in a restaurant that did not appear to be particularly busy. When the mains did eventually come my order was incorrect, they would have been happy to replace it with what I had actually ordered but I would have to wait another 10 or 15 minutes! So I just had what they had brought me a mixed grill of very mediocre quality and obviously it was more expensive than what I had ordered but even though it was their mistake they charged me the higher price! So my advice come in have a drink while admiring the panoramic views of Kyrenia and the Abbey then head off to any of the other restaurants clustered around Bellapais for something to eat.

Wow wow wow. What an amazing place. Truly my most favorite restaurant in cyprus to enjoy meat. The view is to die for and the service is 5 stars. The owners are very nice and they just build a gorgeous wine bar which was sweet. I highly recommend this place. Specially for a sunset early dinner and make sure you try to 15 days marinated aged meat. Love everything about this place

I had lamb shish that was mostly fat but the rest of the family was luckier. We had to wait almost one hour for very simple food in an empty restaurant (we were the only patrons for about 30 minutes). A couple of locals comes 40 minutes after us and, abracadabra, 10 minutes later all their food was on the table, including the same kebab I had ordered 50 minutes earlier. I ask the waiter why that couple got served first and he shrugs. Average food, slow service make this place simply not worthy of your time and money.

We were warned, but we didn't interpret the signs correcty. When we entered Kybele Restaurant and Bar, the waiters wore their anti covid masks only"half mast" - over their mouths -, and when we left, they had let them fully down, thus neglecting the risk for their guests. We had Meze, the variety of Greek dishes, which were partly quite tasty. Some meatballs were inside raw, outside black ... The real problem, however, was the speed of the service. Normally, people tend to complain that the service is to slow. Not here! The waiters obviously were in a great hurry, so that they threw some of the Meze dishes onto our plates, which still were more than half full, in quick sucession. Consequently, we ate as fast as we could ... The true highlight of the evening, however, was the white wine, which actuelly was of a dark yellow paper and smelled of acetone. When we tried to point that out, the waiter explained to us that we were fully mistaken: This was a very special high quality Cyprian wine! It was very special indeed. The charge for the wine was six Euros per glass for those who paid last. When we asked the waiter that the price given on the menu was 4,00 and 4,50 Euro, he said that this was a very old menu and no longer valid. So, if you want to visit Bellapais Abbey in the evening and take romantic photos, do so, then leave and find a better restaurant elsewhere.

I am usually quite generous with my opinions of restaurants, but I can find nothing good to say about this restaurant other than it's in a beautiful setting with great views of the sea. Parking is difficult and you have to park some way away in the village car park, not a problem, but as usual, when things go very wrong you start to find fault in many things. The lady who greeted us was polite and a waiter showed us to our table, And that is just about it for the good things. Now I will in their defense say that hundreds of Turkish waiters went home because of the pandemic and it seems that many restaurants have had to recruit just about anyone who could walk and talk. Unfortunately, ours could only walk. To be honest, we were not sure how much English he spoke, but he managed to explain some dishes on the menu and understand what we wanted to eat. Our first course, which three of us ordered in a cream sauce. I think the cook forgot it needing seasoning, because all three who had it said it was totally tastless and appeared to be a bowl of mushrooms with cream added. The chefs platter, which sounds exciting, comprised of a few cheeses and some meat and fruit.. No bread was offered at all, which is unusual in Turkish restaurants. I had two small breadsticks with the platter. All were delivered without one word being said. We then sat there waiting for them to clear the plates, when to our surprise our main course came up. They seemed to be a little flustered by the fact that they could not put the plates down, and eventually another waiter came over and put out his hand for us to pass our plates to him. OK, fine we can do that, but not what you expect from a relatively expensive restaurant. All this was again done in silence and not a word of apology. Now to my next attempt to be kind. We were in a turkish restaurant, but ordered Italian food. Spaghetti and seafood pasta. Oh dear even worse than the starters just a bowl of cream and pasta. We could not even find the seafood, other than three mussels in their shells. Had the chef not heard of garlic, or onions, or salt and pepper. we all left quite a lot of our food, and the waiter came over cleared the plates without even asking if everything was OK. Not a word was spoken. We decided at that point to leave, no desert and we felt that aggrieved at the lack of civility we did not leave a tip. I went to this restaurant 20 years ago and did not think much of it then, I really will never ever go back. If you like the view, great, but if you want just reasonable food don't go here, avoid at all costs.

We ordered the rack of lamb, which was so tough that we fed most of it to the cats !!!!!!! It was presented to us already cut and no one came to check that we were enjoying our meal. When someone finally did arrive we told them that it was dreadful, infact we left the table before our bill arrived. The waiter tried to say that lamb could be that way and that beef was better..... really........ The manager took 100lire off the bill and we couldn't be bothered to argue. We had a lot of really good meals whilst in Northern Cyprus but this not one of them, such a shame as its in a really beautiful setting. Maybe other dishes are better but we will not be visiting again.

Sadly the amazing setting of Bellapais Monastery was not matched by the poor experience at this restaurant. The staff were quite unorganised and also rude. We asked for a rocket salad but not available. We then ordered a seasonal salad which was fine along with Halloumi. We also ordered a T-bone steak with fries and a chicken shish. When they brought he main dishes there was an issue. The steak was still pink inside even though we asked for it to be well done. The rude waiter decided to explain that it was well done even though clearly it wasn’t. I said take it back and cook it more or it won’t be eaten. He reluctantly did take it back in the end. They also returned with mash potato instead of fries so that was returned and they came back with soggy fries. Part of my chicken too was not cooked well enough, it was pink in the middle. I fed the uncooked pieces to the stray cats. It was a sad experience, it could have been amazing if they just got the basics right.

Go somewhere else!! We visited this restaurant and won’t be ever going back. Inexperienced staff who don’t understand and are incapable of explaining items on the menu. Cheap rubbish part baked bread served without butter, oil etc. Poor and limited starter choices on menu. Thank goodness we decided to skip starters. We ordered Spaghetti Bolognese and Beef Shashlik. The mains arrived and sadly the Beef Shashlik was served with tinned mushrooms 🍄. The fresh produce around here is amazing and this is shocking practice for a restaurant. There was no salad just a small amount of Beef which wasn’t bad , the horrid mushrooms and chips which arrived 5 mins after the main courses arrived. No complaints about the Spaghetti Bolognese. Both main courses were hot but the service was shocking . There are far far better places to eat

Table reservation is recommended. But how can you do this? No reservation form found on Google search. Tried to send a message on their website, but that did not come through. Anyways, the waiters were very kind and helpful and gave us a table when we showed up. The view is awesome, and the surroundings lovely. We (two couples of us) ordered fish and grilled meat. Food came pretty fast, but the meal was rather average. Not very much attention from the waiters, as we struggled with drawing their attention for ordering dessert as well as asking for the bill.

After that we thanked the chef ALI for the first 2 starters 🤣🤣🤣 and asked for a beef steak antrekot which was amazing, he was surprised of our capacity For desert we had an unforgetable Tiramisu Certainly our best experience in North Cyprus We will be back

Such a disappointment. We are a group of six friends that meet up every September from all over the U.K. Traditionally we always go to Kybele in Bellapais Monastery Village. Yes the setting is absolutely brilliant but our treatment today was just dreadful. We ordered our drinks and four of us had starters. First of all the so called Maitre D’s started removing the starters before we had all finished! Then he continued to hover around us giving the impression that he wanted us to hurry up. He looked at the younger lads and raised his eyes constantly at them! In other words we were too slow! One of our group was still eating their starter when the main course arrived! Would you believe that they delivered our main courses whilst our friend was still eating his starter? They stood over him whilst he finished his starter, whipped his plate away and delivered his first course. Then they decided that it was time to move all of the furniture around us. No subtlety whatsoever! I managed to catch the maitre d’s eye to order a round of drinks. I was missed off the order. I pointed out that I had not received my drink! He raised his eyes again! We were ready to leave and guess what the maitre d suddenly disappeared? We needed to pay, was his plan to leave us there so that we ordered another round of drinks? Luckily this lovely young chap was there and we asked him for the bill. He sorted us out with a lovely smile and such a shame he had not been our waiter. We would have left him a huge tip! It is very unlikely that we will be returning! Lovely setting, welcome and overall ambience POOR! It is not rocket science to make your guests feel welcomed and make us feel that you value us coming to your restaurant.

Disgusting food all round, table stuck in the rough garden area, unstable chairs on rough soil, service, well where to start Bread rolls were nicely covered in a white napkin but alas no butter when I asked a waiter if there was any butter he undid the napkin groped the rolls and removed them. OK no rolls. Main course was then served not bad could have been hotter but hey ho, half way through eating some rolls arrived again no butter and not over sure they weren't the already groped ones so left well alone. Only had main course couldn't trust having anything else, so asked for bill which duly came and whilst waiting the the card reader to arrive we get another basket of rolls! Lovely place to visit if all you want to do is take photos of the monastery all light up at night if you want to eat go elsewhere.

What a wonderful restaurant with wonderful views of the monastery and the mountains. We were a group of ten and the service was impeccable. Starters all wonderful and included the asparagus, mushrooms, chefs platter and fish salad. Chefs platter was cheese and cold meats but a nice starter all the same. Main courses were all steak apart from one party who had the beef bourguignon. Lovely bourguignon. Steaks all incredibly under cooked, had to send mediums back as very much rare. Medium rare steaks all more blue. Little unimpressed with the cooking but the food was served beautifully and the chefs clearly care about their food. Incredibly good value and a lot cheaper than any steak meal you would get in the UK! Would highly recommend going but just watch out for cooking of steaks!
