Sunday lunch for 3 and our dog. We all had the roast, 2 beef 1 pork. Loads of really tasty vegetables. Carrots, greens, broccoli and parsnips. Really good size portions and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Apple crumble and lemon cheesecake for dessert, which...More

This was our second visit to The Compass Inn and once again it didn't disappoint. If you're looking for a fancy gastropub where you get your ketchup in a posh jug and about 6 chips in a basket, this isn't for you. Instead it's good,...More

We visited the pub for a family dinner on a Saturday evening. The pub owner obviously loves dogs and tolerates children. It’s made clear its more of an adult pub but well behaved kids are allowed - consequently there are only 2 items on the...More

Pretty pub/restaurant. Friendly knowledgeable staff. We were a party of 4 people and it was only me who had the dietary needs but the others could not tell their meals were without gluten. All absolutely beautifully cooked and presented.

Description
New Forest pub, 100% gluten free and 100% dog friendly. 100% gluten free and no fear of cross contamination.Feel at ease knowing you can eat everything on the menu without worrying if you will be poorly. There is gluten free real ale on the bar. For those who are not gluten free you would not notice anything different from your usual meals containing gluten. The most Dog friendly pub in the New Forest which means your pooch can join you when you dine. We also hold Sunday dog walks and offer free doggy dinners. A really good old fashioned village pub that has not been ruined by modernisation and has retained a wonderful atmosphere. Situated on the fringe of the New Forest making it an ideal venue after a day exploring the Forest. The garden has won Best Pub garden for many years and ideal for alfresco dining. We are open all day every day with the kitchen open 12 to 2 and 6.30 to 9 mon to fri. Sat & Sun open all day for food. Not far from junction 1 M27and away from the rat race.
