I came to Osaka for the Rugby World Cup in 2019 in September/October. I stayed at Capsule Hotel Astil Dotonbori. Some of the most fun I had was obviously exploring the food scene in Osaka. I found this place randomly one day and found out...it had $1-$2 USD plates. Which was the cheapest I had seen around. I indulged heavily as in the Mountains of the USA cheap sushi is hard to find. Not only was it cheap but it was absolutely delicious and the service was great. Definitely request the Hamachi, it was unreal. I spent a lot of money here on my trip and I wouldn't take it back for a second. It was well spent.More

Great location, prices and service. The sushi is of high quality and highly reccomended for a quick sushi-meal in Osaka.

not a fan of conveyor belt sushi so much because the you can easily overeat with really bad quality sushi

Best sushi go-round we have tried! Sushi is fresh, and very cheap, always good service. Limited English at times but easily managed.

Not the best but guess it’s the cheapest around this area. That’s explained for the long queue. The queue can be clear quite fast.

Good cheap fresh sushi that you grab off the line as the small plates of two pieces slowly make their way around the restaurant counter that serves maybe 30 at a time. My favorite was one that has a broiled mayo sauce on the indiscernible...fish. They had tuna, salmon, shrimp, octopus, even tuna salad, shrimp salad, broiled imitation crab, and several others I can’t even recall. This is not top-quality sushi by any means, but it’s fast, inexpensive and hits the spot. I’d consider returning or maybe trying a better quality one because why not? Three of us ate for about $10 each (¥3300 for three of us).More

We like it very much. Food was great, servers kind, good choice and price (actual price for red plate 135 yen and for yellow one 216 (inc. VAT))..we came outside of peak eating time so we did not have to wait.

Good sushi, reasonably priced and definitely fun. This place is popular with the locals, so you may have to wait for a seat at the counter---we came in for a later lunch and were able to be seated right away. Each seat has access to...hot water for making your own tea with the powder they provide in front of you---thus, as soon as you get seated you are off and running. The sushi keeps moving by on the conveyor, and you pick what you like---most choices you are quite familiar with and other presentations are a bit different---adding to the pleasure of the experience. This can be a very fast lunch (depending on how hungry you are) as there is not much waiting.More

Picked this sushi conveyor belt place randomly in the evening for dinner with some friends when wondering Dotonbori. Seating is quite tight with just enough room for people to sit at the counter and others to walk behind. I had to put my backpack in...my leg space area to keep the walking area clear. My friends and I had to cram closer together so as not to encroach on other people. They have a good selection of different types of sushi and if there's something particular you want on the menu, you can always ask one of the waitress/waiters to help you get it. The staff there didn't speak any English, but their menus had English on it. Water is easily accessible if the filler is in front of you. For tea, you need pour in the macha powder yourself. All condiments are assessable except for the wasabi which comes around on the conveyor belt. Overall not a bad place to have sushi at.More

I had read about this place before and was actually prepared to go to another restaurant if I would find people queuing to get in, but since there was nobody waiting outside and they had exactly one free seat I decided to give it a...go. The quality of the food is good (just like in most sushi places around Japan in that price range) and there are a lot of different types to choose from, nothing extraordinary, though. It took 14 plates to feel satisfactorily full for me which amounted to just under ¥2000. The one thing that I found annoying was the limited amount of space - the waiters kept bumping into my back when rushing past behind me and I was a little uncomfortable having to balance my backpack and winter coat in between my knees. To sum it all up: Come here if you don't care about the dining experience and feel like eating sushi without having to spend a lot. It is NOT worth lining up for. There are several other conveyor belt sushi restaurants in the area (two more Genrokuzushi as well, by the way, one in Dotonbori and one in Shinsaibashi) only a few ¥ dearer.More
